Chapter 3~

Learning to Love

Kyuhyun's mind froze. Why was Sungmin asking that? Was he being too obvious?

He fumbled around with the various things situated on the table and avoiding looking into Sungmin's eyes and giving out a truthful answer to Sungmin's question.

“I-I'm, uh...Why would you ask that?” Kyuhyun kept his gaze focused on the coffee cup in front of him.

“I'm curious?” Sungmin asked innocently, a slight blush on his cheeks.

Kyuhyun couldn't think of anything logical to say. He's only just met Sungmin. They're practically strangers. Obviously Sungmin would be a bit freaked out if he said yes. So he said the first jumble of words that formed in his head-

“I don't know what you're talking about, but would I honestly like you in that way when we can barely even be considered friends?” He stood up and briskly walked past Sungmin, trying desperately to keep his head forward. He couldn't help but glance back at him. But when he did, he felt a wave of guilt wash over him.

Sungmin had a look on his face that Kyuhyun couldn't quite explain. Was it embarrassment? Sadness? Or maybe...Disappointment?

He bolted out of the cafe as quick as he could.

Leeteuk felt annoyed to say the least. It was plain obvious to anyone that Kyuhyun had feelings for Sungmin. Well...Maybe not that obvious to Sungmin. Sungmin was smart! Just not when it came to love.

So now he's having to put up with Sungmin's sulking and constant sighs. Eventually he sat on one of the chairs near where Leeteuk was stood and started to calm down.

“...What should I do? He said we couldn't even be considered friends! Was he giving me a hint to stay away from him or something?” Sungmin cried.

Sungmin had to admit, he felt some sort of connection to Kyuhyun. He wasn't skilled in the art of love, so he asked Leeteuk to help him. But everything he did mounted to nothing.

“Maybe I should just give up...” Sungmin frowned, staring into space.

Leeteuk had enough. Forcing Sungmin to look into his eyes, he said in a slow, low tone to try and get his point across clearly.

“It's obvious to anyone with eyes that he likes you, so don't you dare talk about 'giving up'!”

“B-but I hard;y even know him! All I know is basic things about him!” Sungmin argued back.

“So get to know him! Talk to him more when he comes here!”

“But I have a job to do...”

“Look, I'm the boss here, so listen to me. Do you really think I'd be telling you to talk to him more through work time if I'd get annoyed with you for not working?”

“You've got a point there...” Sungmin's gaze yet again returned to stare into nothing, a thoughtful look on his face.

“So go after him! Make him like you more then he does now!” Leeteuk smiled reassuringly.

Sungmin looked up into Leeteuk's eyes and gave him a determined smile, his eyes practically glowing and his fists bunched up.

This was a mission he was prepared to for!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kyuhyun was contemplating whether or not he should go to the coffee shop or not. Yes, he wanted to see Sungmin, but what if Sungmin didn't want to see him?
So, after lot's of thinking and pretty much ripping out all of his hair, he decided he'd go.
The walk to the cafe seemed to take forever. He pushed against the door, making sure not to slam it into the wall to the side of it. The familiar 'ding' of the bell at the top of the door resounded around the whole room.
Leeteuk emerged from some unknown place to take his usual place behind the counter. Kyuhyun swore he saw a smirk on his face and he was looking at him.
Kyuhyun didn't even need to say what he wanted. The amount of times he'd been here and ordered the same thing (not including the last time when Sungmin was taking his order).
Sitting in his usually place, he waited for the usual cup to be placed on his table, and a beautiful smile that always managed to make his heart skip a beat to be painted onto the face of the man serving him.
Although, when the coffee was placed on his table, he was shocked when he looked up and saw not Sungmin, but a Leeteuk with the same smirk on his face.
“Enjoy!” He said before turning around swiftly and made his way to the counter.
Kyuhyun was obviously disappointed. Where was Sungmin?
As he sat there drinking his coffee with a blank face, he failed to notice someone take the seat just next to him. Only when they placed there own cup on the table to Kyuhyun finally turn to look at them. The blank look on his face quickly morphed into one of surprise.
“S-Sungmin!”
Sungmin jumped slightly at Kyuhyun sudden outburst.
“Sorry if I scared you...” Kyuhyun noticed that Sungmin looked slightly nervous.
“No, I just didn't expect you to be here! I wondered where you were.”
“I was busy. I wanted to say sorry for asking you that yesterday, I don't think I was paying attention to what I was saying, it must have been strange.” Sungmin fidgeted with his coffee cup before looking straight into Kyuhyun's eyes. “So I've been thinking...I'd like to get closer to you.” And there it was again. That perfect smile.
Kyuhyun couldn't help but smile back. “Yeah, I'd like that as well.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kyuhyun felt extremely happy right now. Here he was, currently sitting in the small coffee shop with

the one of the most important people in his life at the moment, talking to each other about personal details and past memories.

So far he'd found out that Sungmin's favourite colour was pink. He was two years older than himself, to which Kyuhyun told him that he sure didn't seem older. He also found out when his birthday was, and the fact that he had a pink rabbit teddy that was given to him when he was younger that he absolutely loves with his whole life.

After talking for a little while longer about things like Kyuhyun's work, Sungmin suddenly asked something completely different.

“Kyuhyun...Have you ever been in love before?” Sungmin noticeably had a blush on his face.

Kyuhyun thought back to his previous lover. A sad smile was planted on his face as he looked into Sungmin's eyes.

“I've just recently broken up with someone, or should I say, they broke up with me. I'd have to say, they're probably the closest I've ever felt to love before.”

“Oh, I'm sorry for asking.” Sungmin said sheepishly.

“There's no need to be sorry, it's all in the past now. To be honest, I'd never even thought about them since coming here!”

Leeteuk who was listening in on their conversation smiled proudly to himself. Of course he knew why Kyuhyun wasn't thinking about his past lover. It obviously involved a certain ridiculously oblivious boy sat just across from Kyuhyun. He sighed to himself. His little Sungmin was growing up...

“Hmmm, I've never been in love before. At least, I don't think I have.” Sungmin looked thoughtful for a minute.

“So, have you ever been in a relationship?” Kyuhyun questioned. He was pretty much hoping for Sungmin to be single.

Sungmin giggled slightly “As ridiculous as it may seem considering I'm a 25 year old man, I've never been in a relationship. I've been asked out before, by plenty of amazing people, but none of them ever seem like the right ones for me.”

“Why, what sort of person are you waiting for?”

“A princely type! You know, like the ones in fairy tales that always appear when the princesses are in danger and sweep them off of their feet, and they'll live happily ever after!” Sungmin's voice grew louder and more animated with every word he said. Kyuhyun couldn't help but burst out laughing.

“The description you gave fits your personality perfectly!” Kyuhyun said though fits of laughter. Whenever Sungmin was like this, Kyuhyun found himself falling even more in love with him then he was before...
