Chapter 10

Anyone But You

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING? The man standing across me is Jiyong’s father? And my dad’s everlasting enemy? And why the is Jiyong in my dad’s company when his dad owns a richer one. Is he perhaps spying on us?

Betrayed, shocked; I couldn’t do anything but just stand and stare the appalling sight. He was pretty much shocked as I was. It didn’t take long for the shocked expression of his to turn into a smirk. Yes Smirk. Remember when I wanted to beat the smirks outta him? Now we know where the smirks come from. Like father, like son.

“Well…Look what we have here” He smirked as he moved towards the dining table. OH YOU ARE NOT JOINING ME FOR TEA, OLD MAN! In fact I want to get out from this house right now. I feel used. Isn’t Jiyong using my dad for the benefit of his dad? Wah. Such a traitor. Of course like I said, like father like son.

“Oh. This is bad”

I broke the contact from Lee Soo Man as I heard the familiar voice. I turned to see Xin standing in front of the kitchen. Where the hell did he drop out from? “Xin” Lee Soo Man mumbled as he turned to him. Looks like we both didn’t figure out when or as to why Xin is here. NOW.

And wait XIN KNOWS? So Xin was tricking me as well. OH HE IS DEAD AS WELL. And did he just say, ‘Oh this is bad’? Now that I figured out their ‘very innocent’ plan. YES IT IS BAD. I AM GOING TO SUE EVERY FREAKING ONE OF THEM. Is that even possible?

“What are you doing here Mr Lee Soo Man?” Xin asked Jiyong’s dad with a frown. What is he getting pissed off about? What do you mean WHAT IS HE DOING HERE? It’s his freaking son’s apartment. God. I wanted to blurt out but instead I really needed to stay shut to express how angry I am at them. “I came to have a chat with my son, but instead I got something else” He smirked giving me a glance. I almost scoffed at his response. I became a something? A THING?

“I came here last night as well but he pushed me out hurriedly.” He started explaining. “…But I guess now we know why” He looked at me and the shirt. Oh . I’m wearing Jiyong’s shirt. Xin looked at me and then at the shirt. He then let a small whistle escape. REALLY NOW? I rolled my eyes before facing Lee Soo Man.

Wait. OH MY GOD. LEE SOO MAN. YES THIS IS LEE SOO MAN. THE VERY GUY I IDIOTICLY THREATENED INFRONT OF HIS OWN SON. OH MY GOD. I MUST BE NUTS TO REALIZE IT NOW.

“I…YOU….JIYONG…STEAL….CHEAT” my voice finally found its way out. Not in the very perfect way. I mean what the am I even saying?! ARGH.

“…Chaerin? What are you saying?” Xin asked; confused. Who wouldn’t be? “I think she is trying to confirm whether I am the guy who she threatened” Lee Soo Man folded his arms.  It’s official. THE KWON/LEE FAMILY CAN READ MINDS.

“SHE WHAT?” Xin screamed; surprised. I bit my lip to show him I am guilty of it. Well hey it’s not like I knew where the alien came from then. “Yeah” Lee Soo Man chuckled. “Well I think you should leave. Now is clearly not a good time and I’m sure Jiyong had more than one reason” Xin suggested moving aside, asking him to leave.

HOW THE HELL DOES ANYONE DO THAT? How can you just walk into your best friend’s house and kick out the best friend’s father! Xin is definitely something. Lee Soo Man cleared his throat before unfolding his arms. He just looked as if he lost power. “Uh…yeah. I guess. I should” He smiled and walked out from the kitchen. HOLY MOTHER OF…XIN? He really did walk out. Wow.

Making sure he left; Xin turned back to me. “Uh…that must have been quite a shock” YOU THINK? “Quite?” I scoffed with the toast in my mouth. Right. I still haven’t munched it. How the hell did I even mange to keep it in my mouth for that long? Wow. I definitely need an award for this.

“Okay then ‘Huge’ shock for you” Xin walked up to the table. “DON’T TALK TO ME! I AM MAD AT YOU!AND JIYONG AND LEE SOO MAN!” I screamed at him as soon I swallowed the toast. Taken back; he raised his hands in surrender. “Whoa! Easy there”. “EASY? YOU EXPECT ME TO TAKE THIS EASY WHEN I FIND OUT THAT YOU GUYS ARE DECIVING MY FATHER?”

“Hold up! Hold up! We are what?” Xin stopped me. “Don’t try to stop me just because you guys got found out! I am not going to take our s anymore. I TRUSTED YOU. AND JIYONG! How could you do this? And THAT TO MY FATHER WHO TOOK CARE OF JIYONG. AND YOU. Keep your enemies closer is that it? Well TOO BAD. You can’t do now. I am going to tell my dad and YOU BOTH are going to get fired. Oh wait. Are the rest of them on your side as well? No wonder it felt weird when all you joined at the same time. You guys talked to me because you knew I was his daughter? WOW. You guys are good at making a fool out of people. ARGH!” I threw a toast at him.

Chaerin-ah. You just wasted food. OH SHUT UP CHAERIN. I AM TRYING TO BE REALLY MAD HERE.

“Are you done?” Xin folded his arms. I heaved a deep breath before slightly nodding in response. I guess I am. “First of all-“ He sat down. “HOLD ON!” I interrupted him. “Wha- why?” He asked; worried. I rushed over to the fallen toast and picked it up. “Has 5 seconds passed?” I asked. Really! I NEED the toast. I don’t know when I would be able to get a toast from Jiyong anymore. Ah. You should have thought this through before throwing it at Xin.

“REALLY CHAERIN-AH?” Xin turned to me in his chair. “I…am just hungry” I pouted. What am I doing? God Chaerin. You are supposed to be mad at this moment and showing him who’s the boss. Not pouting over a toast. “It’s been more than 5 seconds” He chuckled. “I am still mad” I threw the toast away and pointed at him as I made my way to the dining chair. I know I should be storming off from this apartment at the moment but something is telling me to stay. Stay and listen to him.

“First of all…” Xin continued. “We are not deceiving or betraying your father. Neither are we spies. Trust me. If I was a spy, I’d be acting a lot cooler than this. Well the point is we are not betraying your father. It’s a lot more complicated for someone like you to understand”

Someone like me to understand? Oh what is he taking me for? A light bulb?

“Second of all, we didn’t even know you existed before. And that you were Yang Hyun Suk’s daughter. We all knew of Minzy though because we once ran into her when she was little. We really didn’t know he had another daughter. He doesn’t really talk about his life” Xin stared at me with sincerity in his eyes. Well…I guess…he is telling the truth. But what could be complicating in Jiyong’s life? I really need to tear that closed book open.

“What do you mean it’s complicated?” I asked; carefully not making it look like I want to know more of Jiyong’s life. Not that I care. “I just want to know if I am that dumb enough not to get it” I quickly added before he take it in another way. “I totally don’t care about his life” I added another one again. Shut up Chaerin.

“Sure” He chuckled. “I would love to fill you in. But it seems like it’s Jiyong;s spot to do that. Till then you will just have to wait” He winked before sipping a juice from my glass. YAH THAT’S MINE. I can’t afford to lose a sip when I have already lost a full toast. I grabbed the glass from him to my side. “I am hungry” I said before taking a sip.

“Anyways…what are you doing here…with that?” He gestured at Jiyong’s shirt that I was wearing. “I…um…” Should I tell him? Well he is close so I don’t really mind. “I came last night…to seduce Jiyong” Wow. Is that the only way you could think of saying it? “YOU DID WHAT?” His eyes shot wide open.

“FYI IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!” I corrected him.

“So wait…you guys are together now?” He smirked.

“NO!” NO. GOD NO. “It’s just a one night thing. Lately I get all tingly when I see Jiyong and I just needed to…” I lowered my voice word by word. “OH MY GOD” He laughed. “Yah. You think I am doing this on purpose? Get pregnant yourself, and you’ll see!” I rolled my eyes. “Well… to be you but I am a guy. I don’t bear children” He said; still laughing.

“So how was it?” He asked. “IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!”I reminded him. “His dad came so we…stopped and…I fell asleep in the tub trying to hide from his dad” I tapped on the glass. I am not proud of what happened. “YOU FELL ASLEEP? AFTER COMING TO HAVE ?” He burst out in laughter…again. “Man. How did I even miss this?” He said wiping the tears from his eyes. “You are so telling me the next time you are having with him” He said; recovering from the laugh.

“Next time? THERE IS NO NEXT TIME! I just told you it was a one-night thing. It didn’t mean ANYTHING. NOTHING. It was a just baby’s dad helping the baby’s mom because she was suffering from weird things that was happening because the baby is developing.” Yes that makes perfect sense. And wasn’t he even listening to me? He needs to do go for a hearing checkup.

“One night? But you don’t do one night.” He raised his brow. Of course, I don’t do one nights! “How do you think we met at first?” I rolled my eyes. “Ah. Of course. How could I even forget? I was there to witness all your late reactions.” He chuckled.

“SO…you guys are cool now?” Xin asked. Oh . We haven’t seen each other after that thing. GREAT. All he leaves is a note as if everything’s okay. No. Nothing’s okay. Like we were just about to have ! He felt me. I felt him…HOW CAN I PRETEND LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED?

“I don’t know” I cried face palming the table. “It’s going to be awkward! How do I act? HELP ME!” I took Xin’s hand and begged. “Just act normal” He said; chillingly. “I CANNOT DO THAT. YOU WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO DO THAT IF YOU HAVE GONE THAT FAR!” I snarled at him. “Okay. Okay. Easy” He backed off; scared. “I can’t face him!” I covered my face. I really can’t. I wasn’t able to face him when he had that hug after the family dinner. How the do you expect me to face him now?

“You can’t hide for life.” He reminded me. Thanks Xin. Very helpful. I rolled my eyes. “No Xin” I let go of his hand. “If I get alone with him; he might talk about…that. And I don’t want to talk about that.” I sighed. “How about this? You stick around with me till you guys get okay with each other.” Xin suggested. Well that doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Except the fact it would never get okay between us. Well not any time soon. I nodded agreeing to his suggestion.

“Aren’t you going to work?” Xin asked; getting up. Oh yeah. I have work. And I am late. Well Dad cannot get mad at me because I’ve got news for him. “Are you going to the company?” I asked getting up as well. “Yeah. Get ready. We could go together.” He looked at his wrist watch. Nodding a yes, I walked into Jiyong’s room ready to get dressed.

“Give me 5 minutes” I said as I passed my bag to Xin who I ordered to stand outside before barging into my dad’s room.

“APPA!” I gave a mini heart attack to my dad and mom who was talking in the room. “Aish” He rubbed his chest before shooting his glare at me. Oops. Don’t tell me I am going to get a lecture on banging the door. Please. Don’t.

“Honey, What made you so upset to barge in like that?” Mom stood walking towards me. “It’s urgent. Ji…Jiyong is LEE SOO MAN’S SON!” I blurted out. I just couldn’t hold it anymore. I can’t just stand to see my dad get conned. Sure they might not be betraying him or whatever but he needs to know.

“How do you know about this?” Dad asked; completely worried. How do I know about this? What? “YOU KNEW?” I let my mouth hang in shock. Wait. What’s going on? He knew yet he lets Jiyong in the company? “Bubbles, I knew him since his childhood days. It’s obvious I’d know” He got up.

I…I feel betrayed. “Who-who else knows?” I asked. I can’t be the only one not knowing right? “No one else. Well Xin, your mom and I and now you” He said.

 “Why not?”

“Just let him be, honey. He doesn’t talk about it for a reason. But I know that he loves working here. So don’t give him a hard time” Mom my hair. But…but…I want to know why.

“Wait…how do you know about this?” Dad asked; realizing. “I..uh…met him today. At Jiyong’s house.” I tried to keep it in the most innocent way. “What were you doing there?” Mom and dad asked at the same time. God. Really? I just went…

“I just went…” I smiled; awkwardly.

“You weren’t home last night” Dad folded his arms. WHAT? HOW DOES HE KNOW? “Eh?” I pretended not to know what he was talking about.

“I went there to give you some food. Bom said you will be coming home real late. And I checked in the morning. Seems like you didn’t go home.” Dad looked at me asking for explanation. Crap. Okay. Chaerin. Just say it and get out.

“Long story short: I spent the night there happy?” I spat out hastily. “And in case you are wondering, it’s all your grandchild’s fault!” I pointed out before rushing towards the door. “Let’s go” I grabbed Xin and walked away quickly before my mom stops me. Yes. She would definitely want to know the details. And I am in no position to tell her….because…I wasn’t fully satisfied and I know for a fact that these hormone will still race.

“Mind telling me what that was all about?” Xin asked again as I opened the door to the studio. Really now?

“Mmmm…Nop” I ended with a pop sound.

“You’re evil” Xin pushed me lightly. Even with those words I couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle. I mean, Xin is just adorable. He’s smart and easy going, unlike someone I know. I was still laughing when Seungri greeted me with his usual, “Mommy!” I waved at him before shoving Xin away. He instantly wound an arm around my neck playfully. “You wanna mess with me, kid?”

“I’m no longer a child to do play fight. I’m a responsible adult” I said in a mature tone. Yes, listen, my future baby. Your mommy is going to be very responsible. So responsible that her impulsive need to have with random men will come to an end. Xin burst of laughter was cut short when someone interrupted him.

“XIN!”

Xin quickly unclutched himself from me before turning to face Jiyong. Should I turn? After last night? Especially after lastnight? How does one behave after their seduction goes down the drain? They flee. A voice inside me, my inner goddess Chaerin probably, told me. So that’s what I did. I ran. In the other direction. Away, from what could have been an excruciatingly embarrassing situation. I heard Xin call for me; “Gotta go. Got lots of work to do!” Yeah right.

It has been exactly 20 minutes since the almost-could-have-been-disastrous meeting and I am sitting in front of my desk…tapping my pen on the desk. Doing…nothing. I am absolutely and horrifyingly useless. Oh, what has the world come to?

“Lots of work?” I heard Xin say from behind me.

“I had to leave! He was THERE!” He chuckled.

“He won’t eat you, you know. Although I’m not so sure about last night” I turned to face him with a confused expression. What did he mean by that? Eat me? His smirk and the way he was looking at me made me realize what he had meant, albeit a little too late.

“!” I hollered grabbing the nearest thing to throw at him.

“STAPLER!” He screamed covering his face. Can’t a girl just throw something at someone without it being a lethal weapon of mass destruction? I mean, C’MON! With a sigh, I kept it back on the table.

“!” I began again before punching him with my fists. My very strong, powerful fists. “Hey! OW!” Xin cried. That’s right. Cry. Cry and die! Honestly, sometimes my thoughts scare me.

“So what did he want with you?” I asked, jumping on the table next to him after I was sure that I had punished him enough. He scrunched up his nose in concentration. “Now that you mention it, there really wasn’t any specific for him to call me” Seriously?

“So he just stole you from me for no purpose but to annoy me?” I huffed.

“Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m ¾ yours and only ¼ Jiyong’s” He smirked. So the smirk was contagious? Oh, what if I smirk?  The horror! Do I? Do people know when they smirk? I tried to smirk; lifting one side of my lips just a little. That didn’t feel right. I closed one eye as I did it in the next try. That just seems so…dumb.

“What are you doing?” Xin asked. He was staring at me as if I had sprouted a second head or something. Then his features softened and he smiled. “Never mind. It’s you” What is that supposed to mean? It’s you.

“What does that mean?” I demanded eyeing him with a death glared. He pulled me close to him and then whispered in my ears. “You’re like my little sister now, Chae! You’re everything that’s weird and beautiful” Despite his puny attempt to butter me up, I understood what he meant. I’m not stupid after all.

“You dare insult me?!” I elbowed him. “Well you are pregnant” He tried to cover his mistakes, pathetically.

“You dare insult my baby?”, “Oh crap!” He muttered.

“I heard that!” Even though I was fighting for me and my baby’s honor, I couldn’t help but feel a tiny tinge of sympathy for him. He was after all up against the great Chaerin. A pregnant Chaerin at that.

“Speaking of pregnancy! Aren’t you hungry?” He asked jumping off the table and offering his hand to me in a very ungentlemanly type of way.

“I just ate” I reminded him as I took his hand mimicked his action in a very un-ladylike way. Hey, a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do. Anyway the women they portray on media are just too-plastic. I’m not plastic. I’m a hundred percent flesh and body. Mostly flesh, what with the baby coming and everything. I eat a lot. A LOT. Hey look at that, I am hungry!

“Humor me” Xin said dragging me across the room towards the door. “Nice save” I mumbled. He bowed his head in acknowledgement.

“Oh crap!” I whispered when I saw Jiyong. Xin looked at me in a way that seemed to ask one and one question only; what?

I nodded my head to his direction; Jiyong’s there. My mind kept telepathically trying to communicate with Xin. His mouth formed into an “O” Good, he got that

“Hey Jiyong!” JIyong glanced at us, at me, and then his face hardened into carbon-ly like face. Well, just as hard as Carbon. Diamond, really. Not that I think of him as a diamond. Definitely, no. He’s vile and disgusting and…black. Like Carbon. Oh what am I thinking?!

My mind was so preoccupied with the whole Carbon-diamond debate that I had completely missed what Xin had said.

I tried my telepathic power again. What did you just say? I asked him. He smiled down at me like a moron. Clearly my psychic powers has lost its edge. Or maybe Xin’s telepathy and mind are not in the same radar.

“Sure” Jiyong was still looking at me with a slightly pissed off face. So my seducing skills are bad. So what? It does NOT mean that he has any right to be pissed at me.

“Sure what?” I mumbled to Xin. “Huh?”

“Sure….what?” I whispered again.

“Sure he’ll join us for brunch” WHAT!

“No no no no! Why would he say that?” I asked hiding behind Xin; this way it is easier for me to hide my insanely babbling mouth from Jiyong.

“Because I asked him to”, “Un-ask him” I demanded. “You can’t just un-ask someone after you ask them That’s not the proper etiquette. And why are we saying ask and un-ask. The correct term is invite and un-invite” Oh, I do not need Xin to turn into a Grammar Nazi right this minute. Pinching his back muscle, I whispered, “I don’t care”

“No” I guess it’s time for Chae mummy to do something then.

“Lydia unnie!” I called from across the room. “Yah?”

“Come for brunch. Everyone. Xin’s treat”

“What?” Xin turned to face me, his eyebrows disappearing into his black raven hair. “Sorry sweetheart…pregnancy and all…” I smirked- hey! I could smirk!- and walked to the door. “What’s the occasion?” I heard Jiyong say as I opened the door. I wouldn’t turn back. I will not turn around to see his face. Those lips. Or his eyes. Or…anything. I would not turn around.

“Oh, you know! Chae just confessed her love me…” Aaaand the door shut behind me. WHAT THE WHAT? IS HE KIDDING ME? I MEAN WHAT? Of course I had just made the grandest of the grandest exit in the world history. I can’t just go back and plead my innocence, now can I?

And so I waited. Till they all got out of the studio and when Xin was within my...killing distance, I grabbed onto his arm and dragged him away with me.

“Ow!” Then Xin turned to others and grinned. “She likes it rough”

“Yes! I’m very violent. And right now I’m taking him away to murder him in cold blood!” I dragged his sorry away from them. “No, that’s all right. We feel the love all the way from here” Kush said

“You’re next” I said and at the same time someone else said, “If they want to be alone for a while, let them be” That someone turned out to be Jiyong. That same Jiyong who was glaring down at me as if hell has frozen over. Or more like his private area between his legs. So it was one wasted night, so what? I AM carrying his baby for christ’s sake. Quickly I dashed behind Xin’s back.

Caught in-between the testosterone induced males made me crave desperately for a female companion. I turned to face Lydia. She was looking back and forth between me and Jiyong. And then she shook her head and chuckled. It seemed like females are not so bright either.

The journey to the cafeteria was surprisingly eventless, with me doing everything and anything to stter away from Jiyong. When someone mentions my name with Jiyong, I ignore it. When Jiyong walks a bit close to me, I run the other way as if hell had warmed over. Did I just say that it was ‘surprisingly eventless’? Who was I kidding?

“Is it me or is the two bickering bickers a little too silent today?” Seungri asked we had given our orders.

“Bickering bickers?” Tabi asked with a chuckle. He then looked at me and Jiyong and we both hissed at him. The fan girl inside me died at that interaction. You need to die! I told her.

“I am not as creative as Chae here so I just said the first name that came to my mind” A smug expression formed on my face. At least someone knows that I am creative. I am extremely creative. I bet Leonardo da Vinci would have praised my creativeness if he was still alive. And maybe paint me like his next Mona Lisa.

“She’s as creative as a rubber duck” Xin said breaking my creative castle I built on the roof. I looked at him; that idiot was trying his best to not burst out laughing. Who laughs at their own joke anyway? You. Came the voice from within me.

“Seriously what’s going on Chae?” Lydia unnie asked. I looked at her with one eyebrow raised. “I mean look at the way you are sitting. Oh right, I was glued to Xin hiding myself from the abhorrent demon siting at the end of the table. I was pretty sure that he couldn’t see me now. There was a creek and I saw Jiyong’s face appear next to Lydia unnie’s. Does he really have to check how I was sitting? With a grunt, Jiyong sat down again.

“You’re either trying to hook up with Xin…” Xin started chuckling. “Or you have already hooked up with Jiyong” There was a clatter of something hitting the ground followed by someone coughing; Jiyong was coughing.

“Oh man! What made you drop your coffee cup?” Teddy asked wittily.

JIyong stood up shooting Teddy an annoyed glance and trying to remove them coffee stains on his shirt; you’ll need water for that moron. “I think I’m about done here” Then he left. That coward. When he left, the rest of them turned to face me. Each and every one had a smirk on their face; it really is contagious.

I opened my mouth to say something, to say anything to Lydia unnie’s comment. It was then the waitor had come with the rest of our drinks. Mine was orange juice. “Can I have some with it?” That was the only thing I ended up saying.

Thank god he left. After an excruciating day he has finally gone. Poof Kaboom! Now a girl can rest. And talk! Seriously my mouth was overflowing with words to say to people.

“C’mon Chae. We’re going” Xin and Tabi were waiting for me at the door. Crap. “You guys go. I need to give this list to my dad” I said diving into my list again.

“Chae, you’ll be alone”, “It’s fine. You guys go” I repeated. With a shrug they both waved at me and left, leaving me alone in the studio.

After writing my list; the clothes that I wanted to buy and their brands. Hey I need my pregnancy clothes! After making sure everything was on the list I made way to Dad’s office. He took the news of him buying me more clothes, delightfully. NOT. I managed to persuade him though. My persuasion skills are very very good. Quite…persuasive? Apparently my language skills are that of a 3 year old.

“Love you Daddybubblekins!” I said shutting the door behind me. “You love my money” I heard him call back. Oh well…

Something…someone grabbed my hand and dragged me towards a very dark corridor. Oh god! I tried to scream but it was quite pathetic that my voice had decided to abandon me in this moment. Not my mind though. What if it was a damon? A ghost? That was HIGHLY unlikely. What if it was a . More realistic. WHAT IF IT WAS A GHOST DEMON ? I screamed. Thank you, O’ my holy voice.

“Shhhh!” He put his hand over my mouth effectively blocking any sound. “What the hell are you screaming like a banshee for?” I recognized that voice.

“Jiyong?” I asked, my voice muffled beneath his hand.

“Of course it’s Jiyong!” Oh thank god.

Oh no! It’s Jiyong. I think I prefer the ghost demon over him.

He led me down the hallway into his lounge. So that’s where he was hiding all this time.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” I asked him as soon as he released me; rounding on him.

“We need to talk” Crappy crapping crappity crap. No Xin to hide behind. “No” I mumbled turning away from him. My face heating as I realized that this is the first time that we’ve been alone since last night.

“Why did you act like that?!” He continued deciding to ignore my refusal to speak about it. Really, why do people ignore me? This was so very frustrating.

“How did I act like?”

“Like…like THAT! Xin’s love interest or something” His love interest? I resist the urge to both roll my eyes and burst out laughing at the same time. Apparently trying to suppress two impulsive emotions like these results is one suffering from an extreme head ache. Add that to the stress that I’ve dealing with the whole day. Jiyong stress.

“What about the way you’re acting all day long!”

“How did I act?” Really?

“Like a very angry, hormonal induced, repugnant, deprived man!” Jiyong actually looked surprised by that. Yes, I do know some good vocabulary. And that too without the use of thesaurus.

“ deprived?” He asked, still a little shocked. THAT was the part that he was able to concentrate on? Well of course, with a deprived male as he…

“So I was a little bad at seducing me! That does not mean that you have any right to go keep shooting death glares at me. They are evil, you know? Your glares”

“I have…I have not!” Jiyong heaved out a sigh. “You have been hiding behind Xin like a scared little love sick puppy” He said. That’s his best defense? Disappointed.

“Well obviously, if someone was out there to kill me then I would want protection” I said.

“You’re such a drama queen” He walked towards the door. “Forget it. I am out of here!” That was his talk?  He is failing as a good enemy to argue with.

“Well c’mon! I need to lock this lounge” He ordered.

“First he drags me in. Then he kicks me out. Someone needs to tell him that I’m not a street dog” I mumbled.

“What was that?”

“Nothing!”

Jiyong was about to retaliate when his phone started vibrating. Vibrating! Not even a ring! Such a dull person. As long as I don’t concentrate on how good looking he really is, I could easily hate him. Easily.

“You’re where?” He asked. Then there was a pause in which he looked really, really confused. “That’s...uhh” He looked at me. “Sure” He mumbled.

When we reached the ground, I didn’t wait for him to come with me. Instead, I made my way to the road frantically searching for a Taxi. Jiyong stared at me as if he wanted to say something before he drove off. That ungentlemanly asswhip.

I waited for another five minutes before a car pulled over. Jiyong’s car. “Get in!” He ordered. “And for all that’s worthy buy your own car and learn to drive them”

“I will. One day” I said as I got in. Fighting about not wanting to get in hiscar would be a waste of time. And completely moronic. And Chae don’t do moronic.

“Your dad’s rich” He reminded. So that’s how he got his car? Makes sense.

“I don’t take money from him. I prefer to live on my own” I explained as I buckled up the seat belt. Jiyong stared at me for the longest time after that. It freaked me out so much that I just had to add the last bit. “Except if it’s for Designer clothes. That it too expensive for my salary”

“And she’s back” He said before starting the car and heading off.

Halfway down the road I realized that he wasn’t dropping me to my place. “Where are we going?”

“My place”

“Why?” My heart started thundering a minute a mile. And the dull throb that had between my legs ever since last night roared into flames. Oh hell no.

“So where should I improve?” I asked him again.

“In what?”

“My seduction. It ”

“I told you already that your seduction was fine”

“Yes but it was bad enough for you to look at me with evil eyes” I said turning a little to face him. “They were evil” I emphasized when he looked at me.

“That wasn’t why I was staring at you with my evil eyes” He said shaking his head a little. “You don’t just act like that after spending the night with someone” He said

“We didn’t sleep together or something…you know how I mean” He nodded. “Yes. I do”

So weird.

He didn’t say anything for the rest of the journey. To avoid the awkwardness I turned to face the images passing behind us. If he wasn’t speaking, I sure hell am not.

“You aren’t coming in?” He asked twirling the car key on his index finger. I nodded with a frown. “Alright then. Stay there and get kidnapped” He waved before going in. YAH! IS HE SERIOUS? Get kidnapped? I am pregnant! And on top of that with his child! Oh he is not walking away from this. Grumping I got out from the car; ready to knock him for treating me like this. I was about to walk towards when I heard the locking sound of the car. Crap. I had accidentally closed the door and he took the opportunity to lock it. I walked back and tried opening it. No such luck.

Argh. I hit the car in frustration. It’s almost as if he knows how to deal with me. And I hate that. “YAH. Don’t hurt the car!” He called out, peeping outside from the main entrance. “Hurt it? Oh okay” I pretended to misheard before kicking it again. “YAH!” I heard him cry.

Flipping my hair back, I turned and marched up to him. “You just left me there! In case you have forgotten, I am pregnant with your child!” I screamed as I entered through the entrance. “I haven’t” He smirked before walking towards the elevator. HAH! Jerk.

“I told you I don’t wanna go in. I wanna go home. I don’t want to spend the night with you at your apartment again!” I whined.

“He was that bad?” a third voice interrupted us.

“MOM?”

I asked as the familiar figure approached us from the lobby seating area. “What are you doing here?” I asked when she finally reached us. “Yah. Let’s go to the apartment first” she said grabbing us both into the elevator.

“It was me who called Jiyong just now. I came here to ..um… to get know more about Jiyong.” Mom sat on the couch as I folded arms as soon as we entered his apartment. Oh please. I arched an eye brow waiting for her to continue. I know that’s not the only the reason.

“Okay…maybe to know a little more about your little night” She cleared ; making herself comfortable on the couch. I KNEW IT. “MOM!” I slumped my shoulders. “Wh-a? A mother can only be curious. Isn’t that right Jiyong?” She looked at Jiyong. He smiled and nodded; awkwardly.

“So tell me. Was he that bad?” She crossed her legs; totally getting into the topic. God no. Please. Not here. “How about we talk about this at home?” I walked over to her to drag her out. “No. No. Here!” She refused. “…uh…Was I that bad?” He cleared his throat; seating himself next to mom. REALLY? EVEN JIYONG?

“WE DIDN’T EVEN DO IT!” I screamed.

“He was that bad for you guys to not do it?” Mom gasped. Well…NO. He was…hot and…. I need to stop.

“How can I be bad when her seduction skills to core?!” Jiyong got up defending himself. Did he just my seduction skills to core?! “Well Excuse me for not being at stripper level!” I shot him. “You were that bad?” Mom twisted her question to Jiyong back at me. “NO. I wasn’t that bad!” I cried. At least I hoped.

“She comes in and just removes each of her clothing with ‘Help Me’ how is that not bad?” He complained to my mom. “I had no time to think of y ways!” I put forward my argument to my mom.

“Fine. Then why were you if my seduction skills ?” I fired. Like really. He was wasn’t he?

“You removed almost everything! How could I not be ?” He fired back.

“You removed the last pieces of my stuff! So I didn’t technically remove almost everything”

“Well it just happened!” He scratched his head.

“This would have gone perfectly if it wasn’t for your father!”

“Your father?” We heard mom ask but we had no time to answer that.

“Well it would have gone perfectly if you hadn’t fallen asleep on the tub!” He shot back.

“WOAH WOAH!” Mom got up and stopped us both. “You fell asleep?” She looked at me if I have just offended my ancestors. “I…it just happened” I lowered my voice.

“Aigooo. Uri Chaerin-ah” Mom pulled me in for a hug. Don’t tell me she’s pitying me because there might be punishment from my ancestors for offending them; by sleeping after coming to have . OH C’MON. I can’t be the only one who did this!

“Since you now know all about our night, can we go home? You can drop me on the way. It’s already late.” I glanced at clock. 11:03 it read. “Ah pa-pa-pap” She stopped me with this weird sound she always does when she wants to say shut up.

“Jiyong. Can I borrow your laptop for a while? Something came up a few while ago in London. And I need to fix the issues so if you don’t mind.” She smiled at Jiyong. Jiyong nodded. Mom! You don’t do that! “Mom, its late” I reminded her. She can go home and do it.

“I don’t wanna waste any more minute. I’ll just do this quick and we leave okay baby girl? So till then just sit on the couch. You can’t get a cab at this moment” She pulled me out from the hug. “Jiyong can drop me then” I suggested. “No. He is already tired. Let him be” She shot the glare. OKAY MOM.

“Fine. But be quick!” I sighed as I fell on to the couch.

“Are you done yet?” I called out to my mom who was working on the ‘so-called-urgent-issue’ in the dining area. It’s 1: 15 already. OH MY GOD. Is she trying to make me fall asleep here so that she gets to leave me behind? God no. Watch me, mom. I am not going to fall asleep. And your sweet plan will backfire. With a smile, I glanced at Jiyong was currently engaged in the TV show that we were watching. It’s not like he could sleep when he’s got guests over.

It’s damn comfortable here. I could sleep for eternity.  I heaved a sigh with a smile before rolling to the other side.

Sleep?

HOLY . I FELL ALSEEP. NOO. With that, I jumped up to find myself on Jiyong’s bed…yet again. I hastily glanced at the other side in search for Jiyong. No Jiyong. Why is he not here? What time is it? I grabbed my phone. 3:14 am it read.

Why is he not here? Is mom spending the night here as well? Lazily, I turned to get off the bed when my eyes caught a figure sleeping the sofa in the bedroom. Jiyong lay on the sofa with no quilt or whatsoever on top of him. How the hell is he even surviving the cold?

“Psssst” I called to him. Really this was a perfectly good bed.

“Jiyong!” Nothing. “JIYONG!” He jumped up awake and started looking at different directions, still sleep oriented.

“Over here” I drawled.

“What?” He asked.

“Come to bed”, “Why?”

“Just come. It’s freezing cold anyway” He slowly made his way to bed, eyeing me cautiously.

“Oh for god’s sake. We’ve slept together before” I reminded him.

With a grunt he got under the covers to lay next to me.

“Don’t worry. I won’t seduce you”

He chuckled before pulling me close to him. “You couldn’t if you tried to”

How dare he? I was just about to say something back when he squeezed me tightly. Maybe this was his way of telling me that he was kidding.

“You’re an ” I concluded.

“I know” He murmured before placing a feather light kiss on my shoulder. “Goodnight Cherry”

Cherry…

It’s been two days and Jiyong and mine’s relationship is getting back to its normal state again. Well with fights as usual.  I feel so reviled that we actually talked about the night; though we talked about it with my mom. It doesn’t feel as awkward as it was before. We have survived. Which was accomplishment in itself.

I don’t know who it is that came up with the idea of going to the club every night before the weekend. But that ended up becoming one of our regular thing to do. I had just finished doing my hair when my bedroom door opened.

“Chaerin-ah, are you ready?” Bom unnie popped in. “Yeap” I randomly grabbed a bag from the bag closet and got out. “Let’s go then?” She asked opening the main door for me to get out. Yeap. It was a Friday night and we were all heading out to ‘Hangout’ And as usual No drinking or dancing for me. I sighed at the thought as I hopped in Bom unnie’s car.

“Hey, stop it! C’mon guys! I thought no drinking for my sake!” I pouted holding my orange juice for all to see.

“When did we promise that?” Tabi asked looking a little confused.

“No one promised that! She’s just being a Chaerin” JIyong said sipping the last bit of drink in his glass. “But for my baby’s sake, this will be my last drink”

Everyone aww-ed and oooh-ed and I gave him a ‘what the hell are you up to’ glare. He shrugged back. “I’m a sweet guy!” He said. “He is. He really is” Xin said sounding just a tiny bit drunk.

“Oooookay! That’s enough for you for tonight” Jiyong grabbed his drink. “In fact let’s all stop drinking and do something”

Him and his genius plans. Do something. Yeah right.

“Okay!” Almost everyone agreed. Well…

“Play something!!!” Kush was sounding way too excited over this.

“What? Truth or Dare?” I asked sarcastically. Who in the right mind plays stuff after coming to a club?

“Nice!!”, “Oh yes!”, “Fantastic Idea Chae”

Why do I have to open my big mouth?

They quickly prepared the table to game and swirled an empty bottle. The game has begun.

It landed on Tabi. He chose truth.

“Are you in love?” Teddy asked.

“Yes” He replied and then winked at Bom. Even I burst out laughing at that. Poor Bom had gone a crimson red in color. And she kept shooting him secret glances.

The next one was for Lydia unnie. She chose dare.

“You have-” Xin began. “You have to sit on one of our lap. Any guy among us. Your choice” I would have gone ballistics if that was for me. Lydia unnie, however laughed before she jumped up for the challenge. Without any hesitation, she moved towards Teddy and sat on his lap. Teddy wrapped his arm around her waist before giving her a kiss on the cheek. We all cheered, very very surprised.

“That was completely-“ Jiyong began.

“Unexpected” I finished his sentence. He nodded agreeing with me.

“OK next” Dara said before swirling the bottle again. It landed in Jiyong’s direction. He chose dare. I was just opening my mouth to give him a dare when Seungri beat me to it.

“Kiss Chae” What?!

No!

He turned to face me and arched an eyebrow. Was that a challenge?

He then moved for a quick kiss. Except that the quick kiss lasted for more than what would be counted as a quick kiss.

His lips gently coaxed me to open my mouth and when I did, his tongue conquered my mouth, his hands my body, his heart my….stop. It wasn’t difficult to kiss him seeing that he was sitting next to me. It made it easier. Oh so much easier to weave my hand through his hair and grab onto him tighter. His hand around my waist, playing their gentle rhythms.

“Ok! OK! Stop. Split” Someone was saying. Who?

Jiyong’s attack on me eased a little and he backed away. He kissed one more time before he completely let go of me.

“It’s getting a little hot in here!” Lydia unnie said grinning at us. they saw us! Kiss! Like that! !

“It seemed as if you wouldn’t mind having a go at studying the in-depths of Chae’s mouth” Xin agreed.

“Oh shut up! I tried to stand to punch him. “It’s not worth it” Jiyong stopped me.

“C’mon! Blush a little!” Seungri begged. “They don’t know how to blush do they?”

“Nop” Everyone agreed.

“Is my face red?” Xin asked. “Coz I’m blushing for them!” He laughed at his own joke. The rest followed joining in on his laugh.

“We won’t laugh” Jiyong told me. “No, we won’t”

Xin, whose face had actually gone red sobered up immediately after he looked at us. One by one started noticing what he had seen. The laughter that had been in our table had died out. What was happening? “Its ok, if you want to laugh, laugh” I said feeling a little bad to bring an end to their merriment. They all then, one by one, looked at Jiyong. They were all staring at Jiyong.

“They are looking at you” I whispered to him. “I’ve noticed”

I turned his face towards me to check if there was something on his face. “Your face looks normal” I reported him. “Let me see there’s any booger…nop. You’re clean”

“Booger?” Jiyong asked me. I shrugged. He again turned to face out friend who was still at him…then their eyes shifted to something at the back.

Jiyong slowly turned to face whatever it was that was at the back. I did the same. There was a girl, clad in a black coat. She had a soft smile on her lips. Jiyong’s hand that had grabbed mine while I was cheking for his boogers, tightened on me. He had gone rigidly still. I looked at the girl again. Then back at Jiyong.

His mouth moved slowly as he uttered one single phrase. A name. “Kiko?”

THEY DIDN'T PERFORM TOGETHER /flips Table/
And No interaction at all. :\ Sigh.

Well I hope you enjoyed the chap though. ^-^
