By the time Jaerin had left the training studio, the fluorescent fixtures lighting up the hallways of the sm building felt dull. Even the cityscape of Seoul feels tired, with a thin mist shrouding the mid-afternoon sun. Jaerin continues to take quick strides, looking ahead. Her hands, on the other hand, are fumbling in the dark – in a bag. She is looking for a thin piece of wire cord, connected to her hand phone.
She pauses a little in her step as she manages to successfully pull her phone out from her bag, even though it was caught between everything else in her bag. Disconnecting the earpiece from her phone, she doesn’t think twice as she presses the metallic against her ears after pressing a couple of digits into the dialer of her phone. Leaning against the wall, she slides down a little as she listens to the ringing of the phone as they wait for the person on the other end to pick up. Each ring contributes to this feeling of suffocation – and she has to bite her lip a little to stop herself from screaming into the receiver for him to pick up.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she recalled what happened merely moments ago.
