Prologue

Litatio

"…therefore be thankful to The quaternion

because Udo gave you the water to drink

Calidos put the fire in your lanterns

Testea then provided the land that feeds you

and your lungs fills the breath of the powerful Caeli…“

"…and it was said:

Havoc will come on a day

when in the rivers will flow decayed water

the fire will reach the roof of heaven

whole land will be riddled with worms

and all the air will be rotten…“

"…The quaternion shall decide whether to preserve the earth

and their son shall descend upon its grounds.

His eyes shall reflect the colour of the sky

and his first cry shall sprawl through the world on the day of the new beginning.

He will be the one that saves the doomed souls of sinners.

Only when he reaches the age of Testea

shall he sacrifice for others, and redeem the lives of innocent

then people will be able to continue to live on earth in peace

like their creators…“

The silence of the night is pierced by a voice. Not any voice but a pleading, desperate cry of a little baby. The boy, as if he knew what his future looks like, is struggling to enter this world. But it’s too late for him.

The grabbing hands of this world are wrapped around his tiny wrists and tugging him through, until the way back is finally closed for him.

"No! You can’t take him!“

But the two robust men already have the baby in their nasty hands. On the ground lies an exhausted, almost dead woman, but none of them notice her as they make their way out. Desperate father gathers strength for just one more attempt to get his son back but is only met with failure.

His little boy is already gone.

"We’ve found the child, my lord.“

A man with sharp features raises an eyebrow. He leaves his comfortable seat in a sumptuous chair and gives the two men kneeling in front of him a questioning look.

"Really? Where is he?“ His voice is quiet but threatening. The servants feel chills travel down their spines and one of them quickly signed for another man to walk inside. The massive door behind them opens and in the room is carried a little bundle of cloth. The servant quickly bows and hands the baby to the man. The latter gives the boy a probing look before focusing his gaze back on the kneeling men.

"This is the kid? Are you sure?“

"O-oh, yes, my lord. He is the first born this year. And now he’s sleeping but his eyes are blue.“

On the lips of the man with eagle like features tugs a barely noticeable smirk. "Good. What is his name?“

"Do Kyungsoo, my lord.“
