“Kyuhyun-ssi, I like you. Would you like to go on date with me?”

Counting of the amount of the girls who had confessed to Kyuhyun made himself aware that he was one of those popular kid in the school, so he was used to hear a confession. Today was different since the person who stood in front of him right now was clearly not a girl, looking at the pants he wore and husky deep voice that came out from the person’s mouth, Kyuhyun was sure that it was a guy. Pretty one if Kyuhyun could add.

“Uhm…”

Kyuhyun wasn’t sure what to answer because rejecting girls was easier to him but this was the first time that a male student confessed to him. Beside the guy was asking for a date, not for being his boyfriend or lover. He thought he was straight but the person in front of him now was attractive. He had to admit that especially the almond shaped eyes that staring straight into his eyes, it was alluring.

“Okay.” Kyuhyun didn’t know why his mouth said that when he planned to reject him but he guessed it was worth it enough when he saw a cute smile bloomed on the other’s face.

“Thank you. My name is Kim Yesung from class 3B. Let’s meet tomorrow at the fountain near Hongdae station.” The boy bowed then left.

Kyuhyun wondered why did he accept it easily. He was usually ruthless when he rejected someone. He just stood there, under the tree at the school’s backyard like a statue until a tap on his shoulder snapped him back to reality. He turned around and saw a handsome man with killer smile. His best friend since he was a kid, Kibum.

“What are you doing here? A girl confessed again?” Kibum chuckled.

“Yeah, but it was a guy actually.” Kyuhyun paused. “And I agreed to go on date with him.”

Kibum gasped and Kyuhyun couldn’t help but smile at his friend’s reaction. He understood why his friend reacted like that.

“You agreed to go on date with him? Wow who is he?”

“Kim Yesung from class 3B. I am also surprised with my self but I don’t have heart to reject him. He looks so hopeful.”

Kibum looked at his best friend strangely. He knew that Kyuhyun rarely cares about the girls’ feelings who confessed to him. Maybe this person could help Kyuhyun to get over her. “So you finally will move on?”

Kyuhyun looked away, didn’t want to meet Kibum’s eyes. After all, Kibum knew about his past. Would he finally open a new chapter and leave the past? If people asked him about her, he would answer ye, he still loved her. Even after two years, he was still hoping that she would come back.

“I still love her. But It’s just a date, nothing else.”

“She left you. You should move on, Kyuhyun. Don’t waste your chance to get new love. And you shouldn’t use whoever you will date later as rebound. That’s not fair for him.” Kibum sighed. He knew that Kyuhyun’s heart was still for her but as his best friend, he wanted the best for him and clearly that woman who broke his heart was out of option.

“I know. I won’t lead him any further. I will properly reject him after the date.” Kyuhyun gave reassuring smile to Kibum.

Kibum sighed and decided to drop the topic. Even after two years his best friend couldn’t move on from his first love. He got his heart broken and in return he broke many hearts, rejecting everyone who tried to get closer to him.

Yesung stepped into the class with a wide grin on his face. He was happy that he finally found a courage to confess to his long time crush. He had been secretly loving the brown haired man for two years. He could only look at him from far away before, too coward to actually speak to him. This was his last year in high school so after some encouraging words from his friend, he decided to confess and ask Kyuhyun for a date. He didn’t want to live in regret anyway so he wanted at least to try. He just didn’t expect the other to agree easily. He was aware with the amount of girls who got rejected by Kyuhyun so he already prepared for the worst.

“So how was it?” Ryeowook questioned as Yesung sat on his seat.

“Tomorrow, I will go on date with him.”

Ryeowook closed his mouth with his hand. His expression was a mixture of disbelief and happiness. “He agreed? Oh my god! Congratulation Yesungie!”

Yesung smiled. He actually still didn’t believe it himself. “I am also surprised but I am happy.”

“So you two are in relationship now?”

“Of course not. I only ask him for a date. He isn’t obligated to return my feelings. I am already grateful that he didn’t turn down the date.” Yesung dreamily looked at the window.

Loving Kyuhyun from a far was enough before so a date definitely more than enough. He didn’t want to push his luck. Yesung wasn’t greedy for Kyuhyun’s love. He would see how things going to be tomorrow. A date with Cho Kyuhyun.

“Sorry!  Did I make you wait?” Yesung panted. He was too happy thinking about the date and only able to close his eyes in the morning, making him late for the date. He was really a lovesick fool when he thought about Kyuhyun.

“It’s okay, I just arrived. Where are we going now?”

Yesung secretly took a look at Kyuhyun’s look today. He dressed in casual outfit. Blue sweater, black skinny jeans that hugged his long legs and a pair of blue vans. He was so handsome and Yesung felt his self esteem dropped. He was late and only wear whatever he saw first, beside his hair was a bit messy from running before.

“Yesung-ssi?” Kyuhyun’s voice brought Yesung back to reality.

“S-sorry. Let’s watch movie, shall we?”

They walked towards the theater side by side. Both didn’t talk at first but Yesung as the one who requested for date decided to open the conversation. He didn’t want to make Kyuhyun to feel uncomfortable.

“So Kyuhyun-ssi, what do you think about the weather today?” Yesung regretted himself as the conversation starter. He was going on date with his crush not a weather forecaster!

“I think it’s getting chilly. Autumn is coming soon. I love autumn.” Kyuhyun thought the question was ridiculous but he answered anyway. He found that Yesung’s attempt to open conversation cute.

“O..oh I see.”

It was silent for a while. Yesung tried to think for new interesting topic but couldn’t find any. He want to hit himself for being so boring.

“Yesung-ssi, why do you like me?”

Yesung didn’t expect Kyuhyun would ask such a question but he guessed that it was actually normal since they were getting know about each other. His cheeks went pink as he answered. “I like your voice.”

“My voice?”

“I heard you singing during student enrollment and thought that you had beautiful voice. I…” Yesung looked on the ground. Love. “like you since that time.”

Kyuhyun stared at the man beside him. It was the first time to hear that someone liked his voice. Usually people who confessed to him would say that they liked him because he was handsome or cool or things that related with his looks. He couldn’t help but smile but realization hit him.

“But it was like two years ago?”

Yesung smiled sheepishly. “I-I’ve been liking you for a long time.”

No one said anything after that. They didn’t talk but it was comfortable silent. Yesung was too embarrassed to talk about anything and only god know what was in Kyuhyun’s mind right now. They reached the theater and walked inside.

“Kyuhyun-ssi, what do you want to watch?” Yesung eyed some movie posters in front of him.

“This looks interesting.” Kyuhyun pointed at horror movie poster. Yesung gulped silently. One fact about himself was he hated horror movies since he was a scaredy cat. He was jumpy and got scared easily. He honestly wanted to watch other movie but he noticed the Kyuhyun’s interest as the taller guy read the synopsis. He sighed in defeat.

“Okay, let’s watch this then.”

They bought the tickets and two boxes of popcorn plus colas. Yesung insisted to pay everything but Kyuhyun refused, at the end Yesung paid the tickets and Kyuhyun paid the snacks. The movie had started and Yesung kept fidgeting on his seat. He glanced at Kyuhyun and the other was really engrossed with the movie. There was this part when the main character checked under her bed and a child with bloody face stared at her. Yesung shrieked loudly, catching Kyuhyun’s attention.

“Are you okay?” Kyuhyun asked.

“Me? Okay, of course. Don’t worry.” Yesung laughed nervously.

Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow but he went back to the screen again. It was silent again and some people screamed because the jump scare but Kyuhyun noticed that Yesung was too quiet. He was curious so he turned to check on him and almost burst in laughter when he saw the black haired man closed his eyes as he shoved popcorn into his mouth. He was pretending to watch the movie. It was really amusing sight and Kyuhyun decided to watch the boy instead of the movie. The lights finally and Yesung peeked with one eye, sighed in relief that the movie had ended. He turned his head to the side and flustered when he saw Kyuhyun was staring at him with a smirk on his face.

“K-K-Kyuhyun-ssi?”

“You know, Yesung-ssi. If you are scared of horror movie, you should tell me so we can watch another movie.”

Yesung’s face went red. It was embarrassing that he got caught like that. Kyuhyun might be annoyed now and he felt guilty. “I am sorry.”

“Why are you sorry?” Kyuhyun laughed. “I am not angry, just amused. Now let’s go find something to eat.”

Kyuhyun stood up and Yesung followed. They visited a small café near the theater. It was small but cozy. The aroma of coffee and vanilla filled Yesung’s nostrils as he stepped in. Coffee was his favorite drink and he was grateful that Kyuhyun chose to visit here. They ordered then picked the table at the corner of the ca
