"Baekhyun, you'll have to walk to school yourself. I have work to do." Baekhyun's mother told him.

"alright, bye mom!" Baekhyun ran out the door with all his stuff for school.

as usual, it was cold and gloomy. every house was all locked up and no sound came from any of them. the only thing he could hear was the wind passing by and his own footsteps.

Jiyoung came out of nowhere and silently followed beside him.

"hi." Baekhyun said, not even bothering to question her sudden appearance.

"...hi." Jiyoung said back.

Baekhyun smiled. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

Jiyoung laughed a little, but didn't smile. "sure." she said sarcastically.

"what do you usually do on your free time?" he asked, trying to make a normal conversation.

kill people, "whatever I want." she replied.

they both looked forward and didn't talk for the rest of the way.

Jiyoung never left Baekhyun's sight. they went in the classroom together and Baekhyun's friends all greeted him. Jiyoung did her own thing at her desk, which was do nothing.

"Hey Baekhyun, we're going on a beach trip on Saturday. wanna come?" Luhan asked him. the others looked at him hopefully. Baekhyun loved beaches. they were relaxing.

"why not?...so is it just us 6?" Baekhyun asked. they all shook their heads.

"no, Junhee, Eunjoo, and Kangmi are coming too," Jongin said. Baekhyun frowned. he didn't know those people. "don't know them? you'll get along with them well." it was as if Jongin could read his mind.

"okay." Baekhyun sat down in his seat.

Mr. Song came in and made an announcment to the class. "in a week, the class is going on a field trip to a haunted house."

the class objected right away. "NO!!!" they all shouted together. Baekhyun cringed at the volume, which was unusual for a normally quiet class.

"kidding, we'll be spending one night at the mansion up the mountain." Mr. Song said. the class 'yay'ed in a bored tone. Baaekhyun looked around, confused why they were so bored about a mansion on top of a mountain.

the lesson started and Baekhyun actually listened to the whole thing this time.

class field trip... He had a bad feeling about that.

it was after lunch. this is what Baekhyun calls 'recess'. he decided to go to the library, which he never went in.

the librabry was quiet, like everything else in the school. some students he never knew exists were either studying or reading a book. he looked around as he walked towards one of the bookshelves.
