"I think I'm going to go crazy..." Sehun mumbled glance over the café filled with college girls. It was just the end of the school day and to the some of the workers a miracle was happening right now. Beautiful girls collected in groups all migrated in one fixed spot. The XOXO Café. Most of the tables were filled with girls with their laptops or just hanging out with friends. "I love this job..." Baekhyun, who was out of kitchen, gapped. Chen couldn't help but smile while seeing some of the girls looking over at the girls, "Today is our lucky day... plus there's no Minseok or Luhan to tell us to work."
Kris smirked, "Hell yeah." He clapped hands with Baekhyun.
"That doesn't mean you're suppose to be slacking off.." D.O spoke up after finishing off a latte, "Go give this to table 10." He handed the cup to Kris.
"Alright sir." Kris stated in English before walking off with a smile on his face.
Chen examined the café once more. "Looks like Ella is super popular." He pointed to the table where Ella and a group of friends sat at. She looked up from her laptop to talk to one of her friends, laughing out loud soon after.
Baekhyun nodded, "Man she is really cute, too bad Chanyeol isn't here today. He would flip if we told him she was here."
Chen sighed, "Yeah." Chanyeol's day off just happened to be today, and unfortunatly for him it was also the day that Ella came in. She entered the café like normal, but when her order came out Chen could see the disappointed expression on her face when it was him rather than Chanyeol who came out with her favorite blueberry/lemon scnoes. "You really think Ella is cute?" Chen raised an eyebrow.
"She is seriously cute, cuter than her friends." Baekhyun looked at the table where Ella sat, "No one stands out to me."
Chen checked out the table once more, "I have to agree with you on that... maybe it's because Ella is half-American that makes her stand out."
"She's half-American? Dang Chanyeol has good taste."
"He sure does." Chen smirked.
D.O rolled his eyes, "You do know that Chanyeol likes Ella for different reasons right? Not just because she's cute or half-American."
"I know that." Baekhyun pouted.
The group of boys lingered around the counter, just talking among themselves trying to pass the time. Occasionally there would be one girl who would glance at the group and giggle with her friends. Kris was the one who took the free time to go walk around and talk to the girls. Ocassionally he would stop by Ella's table and talk with her for a bit.
Chen stretched out his arms, closed his eyes shut, and yawned. When he opened his eyes, something or at least someone caught his attention.
She was sitting at the same table that Ella was located at. Why didn't Chen notice her before? The mystery girl leaned back in her seat, looking almost lazy among all her other friends who sat in a proper manner. She would smile from time to time, usually when Ella was talking with her. Ella herself grabbed the girl's hand and would play with her fingers. For whatever reason, Chen couldn't help but watch the girl sitting next to Ella. "Hey Yifan." Chen called for Kris' attention, "Who is the girl sitting next to Ella?"
Kris looked over to Ella sat, "Oh that's Ella's friend, I think her name is Ami...? I'm not sure though. Why you ask?"
Chen shrugged trying to pretend he didn't really care, "Just wondering..." He trailed on as he noticed that the 'Ami' girl get up from her seat and walk towards the cashier, with a wallet in hand. Chen stood a little bit straighter and coughed a bit.
"Hi." She smiled brightly at Sehun.
Sehun gave the girl a small smile, "Hi, how can I help you?"
"My friend Ella... was wondering if she could get another drink. Though I'm not entirely sure what that drink is." She laughed, "Apparently you guys know her regular order."
Kris interrupted, "Yeah, Ella is quite the regular here."
"You said you were her friend?" Chen added on.
"We attend the same college together, I'm Ahri by the way." Ahri pointed to herself, "Ella talks about you guys all the time."
"She does?" All the boys asked in unison.
Ahri chuckled, "Yeah. Enough times that I got curious about who you guys were."
"And do we meet your expectations?" Baekhyun flirtaciously asked.
Ahri gave a small smirk, "Maybe, but I have to say. A bit behind on your coffee making." She pointed to the coffee machine, "Ella's order." Her smirk turned to a sweet smile, showing that she was simply teasing the boys.
"Ah right. Ella's order." D.O turned to start making Ella's chai tea.
"What exactly is Ella's special order?" Ahri questioned.
"It's a chai tea latte with 3 pumps of cinnamon syrup." Sehun typed up the order on the cashier.
"And usually it's paired with a blueberry and lemon scone." Chen stood next to Sehun and leaned on the counter, "I'm sure you heard about who makes those scones."
Chen noticed how Ahri's eyes glistened, "Yeah I heard about that. She really must like the scones." Ahri winked to give Chen the hint.
Chen at first was taken back by Ahri's forward wink, but seeing the smile on her face made him relax. She really wasn't trying to flirt, just being openly friendly.
"That would 3200 won." Sehun leaned over onto Chen to block his view from Ahri. Chen scowled at the boy, but it went unnoticed by the maknae.
Ahri laughed at Sehun's silliness, she opened her wallet and paid the proper amount. "You guys are funny." She openly said, causing some of the boys in shock at at her for the compliment.
"That's what we do. We are funny, cute, and hard working." Baekhyun smiled.
"Ah of course, but I don't know about the hard working part." She smirked again, mentioning back to her previous statement, which only caused the boys to smile back.
"Then I guess we have to prove you wrong." Chen finally got Sehun away from him to talk to Ahri.
"And how is that?" Ahri crossed her arms.
"Just come by more often, you'll see." The corners of Chen's lips curved up even more to form a smile.
"I'll do that, you guys seem pretty cool. Now about that coffee?" Ahri noticed how D.O held the cup in his hands.
"Here you go." Chen went ahead and gave Ahri the coffee before Sehun could.
"Thanks. Have a good day boys." Ahri gave a salute and waved, walking back to the table where she originally came from.
"You're a flirt." Baekhyun stated once Ahri was far enough.
"What are you talking about? I was just making open conversation with Ella's friend. Who you apparently didn't compare to Ella?" Chen poked Baekhyun in the stomach.
"I have to admit, Ahri is totally my style." Kris smirked.
"This hyung... you say that about every girl you meet Yifan." Baekhyun teased.
"Well you too! You fall for every cute girl who walks in here." Kris commented back.
"Kkaebsong..." Baekhyun trailed on.
Chen rolled his eyes, but thankful that they didn't about him and Ahri. "I better go back into the kitchen." Chen said as he walked away. Though before he did, he sneaked one look at Ahri.
She was once again leaning back in her chair, relaxed but smiling. Chen chuckled. Though Ahri didn't captures Chen's attention at first, it was her personality that made him want to see her more.
AUTHOR'S NOTE.
So I haven't written anything in a long time.... I have my reasons though! I've been swamped with school and work so I haven't had actually time to write a decent chapter. I actually just wrote this because this draft has been sitting here and I felt that I need to finish it. Plus Chen just looks so good because of EXO's new comeback I couldn't resist. Hope you like Ahri! She's a very open and laidback girl, very chill.
