Sehun just entered a bakery to buy a cake that his wife asked him before he left their house that morning. He was busy looking at the decorative cake when out of the blue someone says “Papa?”. He paid no heed as Sehun has no child at all. The voice repeated it’s plead. Still, Sehun was more focused on the icing delights, trying to decide what to buy. Finally one of the bakery’s staff proceed to shoo the boy out of the establishment. The boy then ran towards Sehun.

“Papa!” the boy said louder looking at Sehun.

Sehun then averted his gaze towards the young boy looking at him. Tears are already forming on his eyes. He look around wondering who’s the boy talking to, but the bakery was almost empty except for staff members and a group of girls eating cakes on their school uniform.

“Me?” Sehun said surprise apparent on his face.

“Papa” the boy repeated. Sehun thought the boy was lost and he was mistaken for somebody else. He looked pitiful that Sehun crouched down to face the little boy. From first glance the boy seemed out of place wearing an oversize shirt, worn out snickers his body have some dirt and grime. He must be about 6 give or take a year. He has soft brown locks, small eyes arched eyebrow straight nose and pallid skin. He was trying to compose a decent sentence for the boy. He looked pitiful with his teary eyes and clothes that’s why Sehun has to word his thoughts carefully. After seconds of deliberation he opened his mouth to say something when someone from behind the boy yelled.

“Haowen!” said an unknown man, making his way towards them.

“Look its papa!” the boy doesn’t even remove his eyes from Sehun when he spoke and excitedly pointed at Sehun. The man then carried the boy in his arms and spoke to him in language Sehun can only assume as Chinese. The little boy pouted and Sehun can tell he’s suppressing the tears. When he turned towards Sehun the shocked was written on his face but quickly regain his composure before he speaks again.

“Omo! I’m so sorry. He doesn’t mean anything he says. Please forgive us” He bowed to Sehun and walk away carrying Haowen. Haowen looked back at Sehun with very sad eyes. Sehun was sure he was crying when they were out of the bakery. Sehun stood up slowly trying to ponder on the events that happened a while ago. He’s absolutely sure he doesn’t know them, nor have met them before but he’s certain he saw that boy somewhere.

“Sir, have you decided which one you like?” the cashier asked smiling politely at him.

Sehun turn back his attention to the glass display. But this time it’s not the colorful icing that caught his attention. His eyes were fixed on his own reflection staring back at him.

…And that’s when it hit him.
