The next morning, Sojin woke up early. She was outside the waterfall with Dal. They were running and climbing. “What are you doing?” Won asked as he saw them. “Just training. I lost a lot of energy yesterday” she said and kept kicking high into the air. “I thought food brings us energy” he said and titled his head. “Not for me” she said, not bothering to take a look at him.
“We should go to school, now” said Won and she stopped. “Fine” she simply said and walked away with the wolf. “Yah, wait for me” he said and ran after them with a frown on his face. The way to school was quiet, none of them spoke. Dal sometimes made a small growl but not an aggressive one. “Say, what are you going to do before you attend the school?” asked Won out of the blue. “Train” she simply said, looking to the front. “You can’t train all the time” he whined and frowned.
Once they were in the city, Sojin suddenly stopped. “Won, I think you should stay here with Dal” she said and left right away, not giving chance for him to say anything. “What? No, you can’t leave me here with …this” he frowned and the wolf growled making him quiet.
Sojin walked through the school gate and to the principal’s room. As she knocked, he told her to come in. He was writing down something as always. Sojin bowed and greeted. “I heard that the element balls didn’t work on you” he said, eyes on the papers. “Nae, I guess” she answered. “Do you already know what powers you have?” he asked. Sojin wasn’t sure if the shield was actually her power. She wasn’t sure of anything yet. “Not yet, Mr. Byun” she said. “Thought so. Here is your schedule, time table, uniform and other stuff you’ll need. You will attend the special class” he said and handed her a big bag. “Special class?” she assured. “Yes. I am very sure you have special powers since the balls didn’t work. They even broke the room. Your powers aren't ordinary. Your powers will appear as long as you train hard. See you next week then” he said. “Nae” Sojin answered and stood up. She bowed before leaving the room. Me and special powers. How does he know? I still couldn't find my powers, though... She walked through the city, to the place Won was waiting for her. The streets were crowded with people. Much to her surprise, there was hardly someone who used powers. They all seemed like normal people. “Sojin! Finally” Won ran to her and opened his arms, ready to hug her. But as he saw her gaze, he stopped and scratched his head. “Yah, Dal was going to bite me” he said and hid behind her. “Dal would not bite anyone” she said and the wolf’s fluffy back. “Oh come on, you have to believe me” he whined. Sojin pressed her lips into a firm line and walked away with Dal following. “Yah!” he yelled. “You know, sometimes you’re just so childish” she said and walked faster. “Why is there no one who uses powers in the city?” asked Sojin as he caught up with her. “Well, we don’t use them when it’s not necessary. It wastes a lot of energy” he said and Sojin understood right away. She knew that using powers wastes energy but it would be very convinient to use them in some situations. Once they were home, Won took a nap in his room while Sojin was outside with Dal. She decided to train some more. For some people, it would get even more stressing but for her, she felt better after training. She and Dal ran along the forest but she made sure they weren’t running too far from Won’s house
