Keeping Close
Just For The NightJinki stepped out of the shower and reached out to the counter for his phone, using his other hand absently to find his blue towel. It wasn't new to be messaged by any of this friends this time of night, really, but there was always this one part of him that hoped it was from Joonmyeon. In all honesty, the leader of Exo was the only one that really understood him and his niceity complex - as the others put it.
Unfortunately, it was just fan messages on his Kakao Talk. The day had been rather tough with their rehearsal, seeing that they were just getting the lyrics down along with the tune. Usually, though, he'd get a message from Joonmyeon once or twice a week depending on their shcedules. And as the norm, Joonmyeon would speak first. He was online, and available on the WhatsApp, and for a while. Jinki raised a brow, sleepy-looking eyes almost glaring at the phone. How dare the other be on and not speak?
-Lee JinKi: Hello, sir ninja.
The narrow eyed man placed the phone on the counter and proceeded to dry himself off as he waited, casting furtive glances at the phone. Arguably, the man dubbed as Siwon's clone, could be regarded as his best friend. They were cool with each other pre-debut and bonded even more after each of them found their niche in SM. It was a bit sad, however, that they couldn't enjoy the privelege of being in the same group.
Slinging the towel around his hips and securing it, Jinki grabbed his phone and ambled into his room. The others were out in the living room, laughing raucoulsy at some variety show, trying to unwind from a rather stressful day. He couldn't blame them, either. With time running out so quickly it's nothing short of a miracle that they weren't practicing at that moment. He felt especially bad for Jonghyun, since he carries the weight of the harmonies with his ability to sing such high notes. His voice was fading by the end of the day, so his toothy grin was probably all that showed out there.
With a slight yawn, Jinki closed the door behind him and shed his towel, idly toying with the idea of getting dressed when a telltale blip alerted him to a new message.
-Kim Joonmyeon: You're sharp! How'd you find me?
Jinki smirked and sat on his bed, all thoughts of clothing himself temporarily shoved out of the window.
-Lee Jinki: You forget; I, too, am a ninja.
-Kim Joonmyeon: ? Nationally Instituted Neo-Jackass?
Jinki raised an eyebrow at the quick response, snorting.
-Lee Jinki: If that's what you want on your gravestone, then by all means.
-Kim Joonmyeon: It'll be original, so I can't complain.
-Lee Jinki: You're impossible. What if your fans knew you were such a smartass?
-Kim Joonmyeon: The world would be a better place. :)
-Lee Jinki: You'd have more stalker fans, Joon. -.-"
-Kim Joonmyeon: If it includes you, I'll take my chances :P
-Lee Jinki: Shameless.
-Kim Joonmyeon: You like it. :D
-Lee Jinki: In your dreams. >:P
-Kim Joonmyeon: Money makes dreams come true.
-Lee Jinki: Oh, flaunt it elsewhere, please.
-Kim Joonmyeon: lol
A/N: I know... It's..uneventful. But these little nuances will pay off, I promise ♥ But we must first understand their close bond before it crosses over into something more, ne? Ne.
Ciao, til next time!
