Hearth and Home

Description

Forcefully separated while young in a wold unsafe for their kind, eight wolves do their damnedest to find each other. And stay together.

Foreword

Jongho's worried whines became insistent.

San bared his teeth, already Shifting against his better judgment.

He held Jongho's muzzle in his hands and looked into the other's amber eyes. "Listen to me," he grunted. "Find the others--."

"I won’t leave you here," Jongho rasped, hardly finishing his own Shift before vehemently refusing the order. "They'll kill you."

"I'm the fighter of the pack," San reminded, carefully ignoring the last statement.

"But I'm the strongest," Jongho argued, pleading. "Let me--." His breath hitched, now-brown eyes flicking down to something on San's chin.

The older wolf pat Jongho's cheek to bring his attention back to his eyes.

"That's why I need you to go and protect the others until I get there, okay?" San cupped the back of Jongho's head and brought him in for a brief, rough kiss. "Please, Jong. For me."

Jongho's brows furrowed and his mouth twisted in ready defiance, but the crimson glow of San's eyes was already forcing his Shift. "San, no! Don't do this, pl--." But he was reduced to nothing but a distressed whine.

“Go,” San commanded past the lump in his throat. He laid his forehead between Jongho's eyes. He placed a wet, bloodied kiss there and nudged the wolf away. "I'll be right behind you."

Jongho growled, body already moving against his will under the sorrow-filled red gaze.
