chapter six; 

                 taking things slow 

» Inside EXO's dorm apartment complex: Kairi

*DING* Went the elevator as it arrived at the first floor. Sora stood at the entrance of the elevator with a yellow bag in her hand, she came prepared for the day ahead of her. She entered the elevator and pressed the button where the EXo members were located. Of course on camera, the audience wouldn't be able to see the button number, but Sora knew where she had to go.

Sora looked nervously at the tiny screen changing numbers as the elevator went up. She bit her lip jumped up and down slightly, "I hope all of this goes okay..." The elevator stopped to a halt and the doors opened. The young lady took a deep breath and walked out. Today Sora was visiting Kai's dorm to visit him, but also to meet her 'brother-in-laws'.

She walked towards the front door of EXO's apartment and took one more breath. "Here goes nothing..." She mumbled in English.

Sora pressed the door bell and listened as it sent a musical rhythem through the apartment. "Must be some thin doors." She stated randomly, slightly giggling. Sora positioned herself in front of the door.

The door opened slowly and revealed Kai. "Annyeong." Kai waved shyly to his 'wife'. He examined Sora's outfit, but subtley. She was dressed casually but she still managed to look beautiful.

He opened the door wider to allow Sora to come in. Sora bowed slightly and walked in, "Thank you for letting me come in." She took off her shoes but waited for Kai to lead her into the apartment. 

"Welcome," Kai looked at the yellow bag that Sora was holding, "What's in the bag?" 

Sora hid the bag behind her, "It's a surprise, but not for you." Kai pouted at that, which made the younger girl laugh. "Oppa you'll get your gift later. These are for your members." 

"What's for us?" Sehun appeared in front of the camera. Behind him, the rest of EXO-K appeared each looking at their new visitor. Kai placed his hand on Sora's back and pushed her gently towards s. Sora bowed to boys, "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Yang Sora." Her voice was slightly quite, shy from all the new people. 

"Nice to meet you Yang Sora." All 5 boys bowed and said in unison. Sora couldn't help but giggle a bit, "You guys have that on cue." Once all the members stood up straight, some couldn't help but smile shyly. 

"We practice bowing a lot." Baekhyun joked, "We do it all the time." Sora covered as she laughed a bit. The big group walked to the living room to sit down. Sora walked next to Kai at all times, or at least Kai made sure that she stood next to him. There was huge coffee table in front of the couches and so everybody sat on the ground. There was a rug underneath the table so it was comfortable to sit. When Kai sat down Sora was right next to him.

"Sora-ssi you can't sit on the dirty ground!" Baekhyun said loudly, causing the younger girl to look at him in shock.

"Yah Kai! You have to treat your wife right, go get a blanket for her." Chanyeol pointed to the hallway where their room was. The two older hyungs were just giving Kai a bad time, but Sora thought it was for real. 

"N-No I'm fine. Jongin-oppa you don't need to get a blanket." She said frantically, but Kai shook his head. "No they're right, I'll be back." He got up from the floor and walked away, leaving Sora alone with the other members. She was quite, nervously playing with hair. 

Sehun looked to s and nodded. "Sora-ssi, we actually sent Kai away for a moment because we have something to tell you." Sora looked to Sehun with a confused look, "What is it?"

D.O, who was quite for the most part, spoke up, "Does Kai show a lot of skinship?" 

Sora was surprised with such a personal, "Why do you ask?" 

Baekhyun leaned in closer and said softly, "Kai is really shy, espically when in comes to girls."

"So sometimes you have to push Kai to... how do I say it.." Suho tilted his head.

"To push Kai to act like a man." Sehun finished off bluntly.

Sora eyed each one of the boys in front of her, but the more she thought about it, they were right. Sure Kai would hold her hand occasionally and gently touch her back, but other than that the two haven't been able to naturally show skinship. "But that's normal... I'm shy too..." Sora mumbled but managed to smile.

"That's what we're saying. Just a little push won't hurt." Chanyeol smiled, "I promise it will work." 

Sora thought for a second, but slowly nodded. "Okay." She chuckled, "So what do I have to do?"

Baekhyun air pumped his fists, happy that Sora agreed. "The plan is that you're going to make him jealous."

"Jealous?"

"Yeah," D.O continued, "You don't have to do anything big really, but try being super nice to one of us. Like Sehun, he is Kai's age."

Sehun nodded, "That would make him jealous." 

Sora bit her lip but smiled, "I think I can do that... what is taking Kai so long anyway?" 

Suho laughed, "We hid the blankets so we could talk to you. Kai! What's taking you so long?"

Kai finally came back holding a pink blanket in his hands. "Sorry.. For some reason the blankets were underneath the bunk beds. Here you go Christine." Kai sat down next to Sora and handed her the blanket. 

"Thank you oppa." She spread the blanket over her legs and smiled at Kai. 

Sehun leaned closer to Sora, "Is your real name 'Christine' Sora-ssi?" 

"Yeah it is, Kai calls me that." Sora answered.

"Is it okay if I call you Christine too?" 

Sora nodded, "I don't mind at all." 

Kai looked back and forth at Sora and Sehun. He didn't look mad, but you could tell he felt uncomfortable with Sora giving Sehun all the attention. "You said you brought some stuff for us?" Kai said suddenly. 

"Oh! Yes I did." Sora grabbed her yellow bag and started to take out little gift wrapped bags from it. "This is for you guys." She handed each back individually to the members, "And here's yours Sehun-oppa." Sora said as she gave Sehun's his gift.

This made Kai very aware of Sora and Sehun's interactions. Sehun smiled as he opened his gift, inside of it was some pastries and candy. "I didn't know what you guys liked, so I just made some stuff and bought some candy." Sora giggled nervously.

Sehun shook his head, "No this is awesome Christine-ssi." He bit into one of the pastries and gave a thumbs up. "It's really good!" All the members nodded in approval. 

Sora smiled, "Thanks, I don't know how they taste like since I didn't get to eat one." 

"Here try mine." Sehun ripped a piece of the cookie he was eating and handed it to Sora. "T-Thank you." She ate the piece, "Hmm, not bad." 

Kai's face at this point was starting to look a little bit mad. He was silent and just staring at the two other people. "Yah Kai why do you look so mad?" Baekhyun asked, acting like he knew nothing.

Kai blinked, "Yah Sehun-ah give me a cookie." He ordered.

Sehun held his bag close to him, "Why? I like Sora's gift." He was acting a bit selfish, but seeing the reaction on Kai's face was priceless. "Here Kai." Suho gave Kai a different kind of pastry, which the younger boy took thankfully.

Kai ripped the cookie in half and ate one piece, "This one is a different kind, try some." Kai fed the cookie to Sora. Sora took the cookie in and slowly chewed, looking away to hid her red face.

"Aish, that worked a lot faster than I thought." Chanyeol commented. 

Sora raised her head and giggled, but Kai was clueless. "What worked?" He asked.

Sora touched Kai's shoulder and laughed, "Sorry oppa..."

"We were trying to make you jealous." Sehun finished off Sora's sentence. Kai, at first, just blinked. Then he chuckled stupidly and scratched the back of his neck. "That's why Christine was acting so open to you." He kicked Sehun's leg under the table. "I know her enough that she's shy with people she just met. Christine-ssi is usually quiet upon first meetings.

Sora shyly looked at Kai. He was right. If it wasn't for the plan, Sora would have been more shy with strangers. But for Kai to notice that still made her blush. "He's right... Are you mad?" Sora leaned over to get a good look at Kai's face.

The members watched the couple. These two didn't need to be pushed to do skinship, both Kai and Sora were doing fine at their own pace. "No, I'm not mad." Kai lightly poke Sora's arm, "But don't do it again." His tone of voice was serious.

Sora simply nodded, "Nah oppa." 

Baekhyun leaned onto Chanyeol, "Don't ever hurt me again Chanyeol-ah." Chanyeol wrapped his arm around Baekyun, "Nah Baekhyun." The two mimicked the couple, but cause laughs to ring out in the living room. 

Kai clapped his hands like a seal, "We are not like that!" 

"Well you should! Do you guys even have nicknames for each other?" Sehun asked.

Sora just shrugged, "I don't know..." She trailed on. 

"We'll think of some when the time is right..." Kai said softly. In all seriousness Kai didn't even think about giving a nickname to Sora. 

"It's not a big deal really... but I heard Luhan saying that he calls Clara 'baobei'." Suho said. Sora's eyebrows scrunched, "Doesn't that mean baby?"

Suho nodded, "Yeah, seems like Luhan is going all out with preparing this thing with for Clara. He came home with a big bag of penguin dolls." 

Sora slighlty pouted, she didn't need huge romantic gestures, but she did like a man who was a bit... adventureous and spontaneous. Kai noticed Sora's pout, but didn't make a big deal out of it.

The 7 all just talked until it was time for Kai and Sora to leave. "Thank you for having me over." Sora bowed to her 'brother-in-laws'. 

"No thank you Sora-ssi." D.O bowed. "Take care of our Kai." Chanyeol laughed, "And Kai! Be good to her, she's too pretty for you anyway!" He yelled as Sora and Kai were about to leave the apartment. Sora waved bye until Kai closed the door as fast as he could.

"Well those are my members..." Kai shyly stated.

"They were... funny and very friendly." Sora tried to say lightly. Kai chuckled, "They are weirdos and that's only half of them." 

Sora didn't laugh at that, "I still need to meet the other 6..." The couple walked to the elevatora and went down. 

"Well technically only 5, since you met Luhan-hyung already." Kai pointed out. Sora then remembered her first meeting with Luhan, "I totally forgot about that..." She said in a montone voice.

Kai laughed, "My wife forgets things too easily." He lightly pushed Sora, which made the girl giggle. "I can't help it." She pushed him back lightly. The two flirted for a bit till they got off the elevator. 

"So where are we going oppa?" Sora asked as they walked to the van. Kai opened the door for Sora to let her into the vehicle, "Have you seen a movie since you've been to Korea?" Kai sat next to Sora.

Sora shook her head, "I haven't watched a movie in a while actually. Are we going to the movie theater?" 

Kai nodded, "Well I'm glad I get to take you now. I think you'll like the movie we are watching." 

» Movie Theater

Sora and Kai walked into the movie theater, since it was a school day there wasn't a lot of people about. "How do you get a movie ticket here?" Sora looked around theater, she stood in the middle of the place in a daze. Kai took hold of her arm and pulled her to machine. "We can just do it here." Kai lowered his hand to grab hold onto Sora's han but let go to start typing on the machine.

Sora leaned closer to Kai to see what he was doing on the screen. "We're watching Frozen? I heard it was really cute." She smiled. Kai nodded, "I'm glad." He took out his wallet and insert the money into the machine. "Oppa you don't have to pay." Sora giggled.

"Hey we're on a date, the man always pays." Kai simply stated, he grabbed the tickets. "Let's go." 

The couple got some popcorn and drinks at the stand, soon they went through the line and got their tickets checked. While Kai walked forwards to their location, Sora ended up trailing behind as she looked at all the movie advertisements. "Yobo! Come on." Kai took Sora's hand and pulled her along.

Sora looked at her hand in Kai's grasp, but she had to focus on keeping up with Kai while holding onto her drink. The couple took their designated seats and the movie was starting to begin. The previews played first, so Sora had a chance to talk to Kai. "Looks like we have a new nickname." She shyly smiled.

"Wha- Oh... when I called you yobo... Is that alright? Or am I going to fast?" Kai whispered. 

Sora took a sip of her drink, "I think you're going perfectly slow oppa." 

The actually movie finally started to play, and the two focused on the screen. Occasionally Sora would feel Kai rest his arm on the armrest which they shared, it was only a tiny bit of skinship, but it still was skinship. When Kai reached for his drink, he accidently sipped Sora's drink. She didn't notice of course, but Kai quickly put the drink back in the cup holder at the thought of an indirect kiss with Sora.

At the end of the movie, the main couple kissed. Sora pressed her lips together, trying to hide her growing shyness. The credits rolled and people were starting to leave the theater. When Sora got up to leave, Kai stopped her. "Wait here for a moment, I'll be back."

Sora sat back down in the empty theater as Kai left. "This is weird..." She mumbled in English. When Kai finally came back, he went to the front to the theater, near the screen and smiled. He was holding some big white cards behind his back.

"What are you doing there?" Sora asked loud enough for Kai to hear.

Kai didn't say anything but lifted up the cards in front of him to show Sora what was written on them. The first card had big enough letters for Sora to read what was written:

I might be shy, but you make feel like I could fly.

Kai continued to show the rest of the cards, each continuing on the previous sentence.

I promise to try harder, but you can always count on me to be your knight in shining armour.

Christine I wish I could put all this on the wide screen.

But oppa is a slow poke babo.

So please, give me time to find the keys to your heart.

Kai ended with a little heart, but then smiled in embarressment

"Moyah?" Sora fanned herself, after she finished reading the somewhat poem type thing. She wasn't crying, but her face was tomato red. "Oppa that's so cheesy!" She said loudly, while standing up with a happy smile on her face. Sora decided to respond to Kai's heart.

Kai walked up to where she stood. "But it worked." He smiled sheepily.

Sora hit him lightly, but took hold of Sora's arm. They both held onto each other's arm, but not exactly holding hands. "You say that your members are weird, but you're the biggest weirdo oppa." Sora giggled as Kai swang her arm back and forth.

Kai just smiled, "Yeah.. but you're my weirdo yobo." 

Sora looked around her, "Oppa.. we might get kicked out..." And she just killed the moment...

The two shyly let go of each other arms and both stood awkwardly in the empty theater. The two were young, and no matter how slow they took things, the slower the better.

INTERVIEW

Q1: How was meeting the EXO-K members?

Sora took a second to think of answere, "At first I thought they were really cute when they bowed together, but then when you really get to know them... they're weird! In a funny way though." She laughed awkwardly.

Q2: Why did you need to go get a blanket? What took you so long.

Kai scratched his neck, "I actually thought of getting her the blanket before she sat down, but she already was sitting next to me. Then I got yelled at by my hyungs." He chuckled, "And when I went to look for a blanket they were under the bed, but I was looking for a pink one. Since Christine-ssi like pink."

Q3: Why did you agree to make Kai jealous?

Sora smiled, "I honestly just wanted to see how he would react. He is always careful when approaching me or showing affection, it was interesting to what would happen if someone else was acting more forward then him."

Q3.1: Were you happy with his reaction?

"Yes, I was." Sora laughed and covered her face.

Q4: How jealous were you?

Kai sighed, "At first I couldn't believe how close Sora was acting towards Sehun, so I thought maybe they were friends. But when he gave her the cookie... I wasn't mad, but I didn't like it either... so I did what I did." He sighed once again.

Q5: Did you like it when Kai called you 'yobo'? 

"I was surprised at first, but then I liked how it sounded."

Q5.1: Kai why did you call her 'yobo' suddenly?

"It just came out, but I always was thinking about what Sehun said about nicknames." 

Q6: How was the poem?

Sora looked at down and smiled, deep in thought. "It was cheesy, but very sweet to from the heart." She nodded, "I really liked it.... don't tell him that!"

Q7: Why did you plan the poem on the cards?

Kai pinched the bridged of his nose and smiled, "I thought of it at first when I saw hyung (Luhan) coming into the dorms with the penguin dolls for Clara-ssi. But then I decided against it because it was so cheesy. But then I thought of how much progress we haven't made, so I wanted to tell her that I'll try harder by doing this.

 AUTHOR'S NOTES 
Yay~ Kairi's turn in the limelight!  Our maknae couple is the most innocent in my opinion, they are both so shy and awkward, it's like having a first love. The jealousy part was just so funny, but I at writing situations like that so forgive me if it wasn't that good. Out of this whole thing I like the poem on the white cards the most :D Well hoped you enjoyed and comment if you can!
