Chapter VI
No One Like You
(Present Time)
She was watching Jessica from the corner of her eyes, admiring her from afar. Then suddenly, Jessica was on the floor. Everything happened so fast. One minute they were walking in the airport with fans crowding them, the next minute Jessica was pushed and hit her head at the railing. Time froze for a moment.
She didn't know what to do. She was just shocked. Is Jessica okay? Why am I not by her side to protect her? Those questions bothered her the whole flight back to Korea. Jessica's condition was immediately checked and thankfully, it was not a serious injury.
"Just rest at home for a couple of days and you should be fine." The doctors told Jessica while the other members are listening.
"What about the fansign event?" Jessica asked.
"Fans would understand if you’re not able to attend it." Their manager answered.
"Okay." Jessica mumbled. "I'll just text my mom to come fetch me up."
Sooyoung coughed. "I can take you home."
Jessica looked at her in surprise. Others were also just as shocked.
"It's settled then. Sooyoung will take her home. Let's go back to the dorm." Sunny said. They finally understood what sooyoung was trying to do.
They all left after saying goodbye to Jessica and Sooyoung.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?" Sooyoung asked innocently.
"Why are you being nice to me?"
Sooyoung chuckled. "You say that like I've been treating you bad all this time."
"It's not that. It's just you usually avoid being alone with me."
"That's not true."
Jessica sighed. "You don't have to deny it. I understand. You hate me."
"C'mon, now. You're talking nonsense now. Have you hit your head too hard?" Sooyoung didn't like what Jessica was saying but chose to respond to it lightly.
"So you don't hate me but you don't love me either." Jessica concluded.
Sooyoung was taken aback by her words. It took a while before she managed to keep her cool again. "C'mon, let's get you home so you can rest."
The drive to Jessica's house was silent. Sooyoung was afraid to open the topic considering how their last conversation ended. As for Jessica, she was still confused why Sooyoung was here with her. They finally arrived at the Jung’s.
"Are you okay?" Jessica's mom rushed to her daughter.
"I'm okay, mom. Nothing serious." Jessica answered.
Jessica's mom hugged her again and finally saw Sooyoung who was just watching them.
"Sooyoungie!" Jessica's mom rushed towards her and hugged her. "It's been a while since you visited. You didn't tell me you were coming. I would've have cooked your favorite dishes."
Sooyoung just giggled, overwhelmed by the welcoming.
“I thought you were really worried about me but once you saw her, you've forgotten about me." Jessica muttered.
"What are you talking about? Of course, I was worried about you. But you said you're okay. I haven't seen Sooyoungie for a while. She's like a daughter to me too." Her mom explained. She then turned to Sooyoung. “Why haven’t you visited us lately, my dear? During your trainee days, you used to come here a lot with Jessica."
Sooyoung felt guilty. She stopped visiting when they broke up. "I'm sorry, auntie. We've gotten so busy these past few years that I haven't got the time to visit. I promise I'll visit more often."
"I understand. Come inside the house. I'll prepare something quickly."

"You're not feeling well?" Sooyoung was worried about Jessica. Actually, everyone was not in her best condition that day. Still, they had to perform. But Jessica was really sick and her body was giving up on her thanks to their hectic schedule.
