New Beginnings
Just My Luck!Soojin's POV
Alright, take a deep breath.
Just walk in and act normal.
Nobody will even notice you! They don't know you.
I took the deepest breath possible, closed my eyes, and opened the doors into my brand new school.
Boy was I wrong.
"Who is she?"
"She's new isn't she?"
"Look at her. So average. How did she even get in here?"
"She's not going to last long."
I opened my eyes to find every single person staring at me.
I cleared my throat and pretended not to notice and kept on walking towards the front office.
As I neared the office, I found myself actually RUNNING into the entrance.
"Yes, how can I help you?"
"Hi, my name is Park Soojin. I'm a new student here."
"Oh yes, we've all been expecting you! Do you have your forms?"
"Ah yes, just a second."
I reached into my backpack and pulled out the forms. They were all crumpled from being quickly smashed in there earlier this morning, due to me almost missing the bus.
I smiled and attempted to straighten them out before I handed them to the secretary.
After typing a few things into the computer, the lady printed my schedule and a map of the school for me to use.
"Your first class starts in 15 minutes. Don't be late and good luck!"
I thanked the kind lady and walked out of the office.
As soon as my feet stepped out, the loud chatter turned into total silence.
I covered the side of my face with my papers and walked quickly with my head down, hoping that would hide my face good enough.
Maybe I should've been looking up because I ended up headbutting someone in the chest.
"HEY, watch where you're going!" I heard a familar voice say.
I looked up in fear to see who was speaking to me.
Boy was I relieved.
"Minyoung-ah! Thank goodness you're here!"
Kwon Minyoung had my best friend for years since we both moved to Seoul around the same time and happened to be neighbors. She was the one who convinced me to enter this school actually. Although she was my best friend, sometimes she acted like my mom.
"Soojin! Yah, what are you doing with your head down like that! You're going to bump into people!"
"Sorry, it's just that everybody was staring at me....."
"Oh, don't worry. Happens to everyone!"
"She's with me everyone. Stop looking." Minyoung shouted out into the curious crowd.
I looked around to find everyone talking amongst themselves again.
"Woah. You must be popular here then."
Minyoung smiled and jokingly flipped her hair.
"You know it." she winked.
I laughed and walked along with Minyoung.
Good thing I had a friend like her.
(Lame chapter, I know. BUT DON'T WORRY! This is just the beginning! Things will get better~ ^^)
