AN: Another bonus chapter to celebrate the one and only Son Naeun's 21st birthday! Posting this a day early because I will be busy tomorrow...hope you guys enjoy!

Taemin had been thinking of multiple ways to outdo Naeun's birthday surprise for him. I mean, how could you top a birthday mission race filled with memories of all the things you've done together? Taemin really wanted to level up, maybe not beat Naeun's surprise, but give her something that she would never forget.

He woke up at six in the morning just to get everything ready. He drew the curtains, frowned slightly because it was dark outside, but chalked it up to it still being too early for the sun to come out. He took out his pink and blue flag banners and hung them across the living room. He put their teddy bears in the centre and put little party hats on their head and tied a banner in between them saying 'happy birthday'. He the television, plugged in his USB and brought out the photo collage that he made, and finally he began to prepare the traditional breakfast of seaweed soup, and some churros for dessert.

Naeun had woken up at exactly seven, and walked straight into the living room, making an 'uwah' sound and clapping her hands slightly. She saw Taemin's figure looking out the window with hands on his hips. She expected him to turn around and do a dance or surprise her, but when he didn't, she walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his torso. Taemin stiffened in response but began to rub her arms up and down to warm her up. Naeun heard him sigh so she went in front of him to see what the problem was. "Oppa?"

Taemin leaned down and captured her lips in a soft kiss and she frowned when he pulled away. "What's the matter?" He pointed outside. "It's raining and it's ruined all my plans" Naeun laughed at the pout that followed his statement. She tugged on his arm and led him over to the breakfast he had prepared in the lounge. She took a spoonful of the soup he made and made an exaggerated thumbs up gesture and exclamation of deliciousness just to cheer her fiancé up. "Oppa! It's my birthday and you're sulking..." At the mention of the word birthday, his eyes widened and he immediately ran over to her side and gave her a peck on the cheek. “Mianhae…I was too…anyway…saengil chukhahae Naeun-ah…I love you…”

Naeun beamed at him and wrapped her arms around Taemin’s neck. “Wae? You’re disappointed that it’s raining and you couldn’t take me out to that café and then go play in the snow and then go to watch that lights show?” Taemin’s eyes bulged. “You knew about that?” She tapped on his nose. “I saw you researching on your phone when you thought I was asleep in the car…sorry…” Taemin buried his face into her neck and chuckled. “So, it wasn’t much of a surprise anyway?” She patted his back in response and gently pushed him away, giving him the excuse that she was hungry when he whined. He went back to his seat opposite her and began munching on his food as well, while she ate hers. When they were finished, he brought out his champagne glass full of churros, popped one into his mouth and beckoned her to bite the other end. However, when they tried to get closer, Taemin choked. “It’s too thick…let’s stick to peppero and slices of meat…”

When she had finished and was waiting for Taemin to finish his breakfast, Naeun leaned back on her arms and took a good look at all the decorations that he had put up. “You like it?” She nodded. “It’s got the same feeling as when we went on that camping trip to Spain…” Taemin grinned at the mention of one of their most favorite dates. “The photo collage, the bears, the flags, your homemade cooking…it’s all you…we’re just missing a tent…” Taemin got up to go and retrieve some from their storage closet but she pulled him along instead to move to their window seat. “Forget it…I have your arms for shelter…”

Taemin sat with his legs outstretched, leaning against the wall adjacent to their large window. Naeun sat in between his legs, leaning her back against his chest and wrapping his arms around in a cross shape. “Hmmm…Oppa is always warm…” Taemin began to run her arms up and down and Naeun leaned further into his embrace. A sharp ring broke their moment of silence, and Naeun ran to get her phone. Chorong was requesting for a video call. She pressed the accept button as she settled back into Taemin’s arms.

“Naeun-ah! Happy Birthday!” It wasn’t only Chorong, the rest of her members, SHINee members, EXO members and even her family was present, all saying a collective greeting. “What did Lee Seobang plan for you today?” Taemin popped his head out and waved. “The plans got ruined, Omonim…it’s raining…” Chorong passed her phone around and everyone said their own individual messages to Naeun, until it came back to the start and they ended the call almost forty-five minutes later. “Happy?” Naeun looked puzzled. “I called them before you woke up and told them to cancel the plans for lunch. That’s why they’re all together…”

“Hmmm…” Naeun closed her eyes. “What are we going to do now?”

“Well, I was going to save this for later…but since it’s the perfect weather to do this…” Taemin walked into their bedroom and retrieved a guitar. He sat on the couch as Naeun leaned against the window.

When Taemin finished his performance, Naeun went up to him and hugged him like he had done when she played ‘I’m In Love’ for him the first time. He pretended to back away. “Naeun-ah…close your eyes and put your arms like this…” Taemin got into his ‘zombie’ position and Naeun did as she was told. Then he grabbed her hand and put them on his shoulders as he leaned in to kiss her. “Now don’t say that I copied your idea…I gave you a kiss…while you…if I remember correctly gave me hug that lasted way too short…”

She tugged on his arms and they sat back down by the window, with Taemin enveloping her.  He leaned close to the window and blew on it, then sat back and grabbed Naeun’s right wrist and began to trace a heart shape on the window. She giggled and then grabbed his wrist and blew against the window as well and wrote ‘gomawo’. Taemin nuzzled his nose against her neck. Eventually, the pitter patter of rain against the window lulled the two to sleep, spending Naeun’s birthday tucked away into each other’s arms and fulfilling Taemin’s plans in their dreamland, that was always painted with blue skies, rainbows and love.

The weather couldn’t stop Taemin and Naeun from having an enjoyable day.

Everything would be just fine, as long as they were together.
