Chapter 36 - Almost

Jaejoong was eyeing her suspiciously from the back

‘Something’s fishy here…’

It was a Saturday evening, you were at Jaejoong’s house. You two were sitting on the edge of Jaejoong’s bed

“Do I have to go?” Jaejoong whined and pouted

“Yes, you do! You can’t just leave Tiffany dateless! She’s you fiancee,” you reasoned

You and Jaejoong were arguing about a party Jaejoong had been invited to. He didn’t want to go, especially because he had to go with Tiffany.

 “But then I’ll be leaving you here alone!”

“I’m gonna be fine! And I can always call Donghae to come!”

“Don’t you dare call Donghae! I can’t leave you two alone!” he warned

“Aish! Just go to the party!”

“Can’t I just stay here with you? It’s gonna be a boring party anyway.” He rolled his eyes

“Even so. It’s a party hosted by Tiffany’s parents and you promised her you’d come… What if she tries to commit suicide again because of you?!” you dramatized

Jaejoong sighed. “Fine.” He got up. “But only because you pushed me to!”

You laughed. “Yeah, yeah. Now go get dressed before you’re late to pick up Tiffany.” You shooed him

“Pushy,” he muttered and stomped his way to get his suit

You waited for him to finish changing. A couple of minutes later, he came out of his closet, perfectly suited in a black and white suit, looking extremely dashing

A smile grew on your face as you got up and went to him. “Look at my handsome man~” you smoothed his suit. “You look great.”

“Don’t I always?” he laughed

You fixed his black bow tie and said, “Now, you’re perfect.”

He smiled. “Thanks. “

“You should get going now.”

He sighed. “Yeah…”

Then the two of you went downstairs and to the front door

“Wait,” he stopped and suddenly kissed you on the lips

You giggled. “Now, go!” you pushed him to the door

“Fine, fine!” he opened the door and left the house

“Bye~!” you waved from the door and he waved back from his car

Then he drove off

Jaejoong reached Tiffany’s mansion and he went inside

Her parents had already left for the party

Jaejoong called Tiffany and she told him to go up to her room

He knocked on her door and a couple of seconds later, the door opened and her head popped out

“Oppa!” she beamed and opened the door wider

“Are you ready yet?” he asked

“Almost,” she said and went back inside her room. “Come inside,” she told him

And Jaejoong did as she told

Tiffany looked stunning. She wore a yellow dress that was up to her knee. And she let her hair loose, she just wore a pretty hairpin

“Help me with this necklace, please, oppa.” She gave Jaejoong a diamond neckace

Tiffany turned around and lifted her hair up so that Jaejoong can help her put on the necklace

 “Thank you, oppa.” She turned back. “Wait here, I’m gonna get my purse and we can leave then.”

Jaejoong nodded and she went to the closet

Jaejoong looked around. Her room was clean and tidy, girly but still elegant. And his eyes stopped when he saw a brown envelope on her desk

He didn’t know why, but he wanted to take a look at it. So he went to the desk and grabbed it

He opened the envelope and peeped the inside. He saw there were papers in it. He took out the papers and was about to read it but suddenly Tiffany quickly snatched it from him. “O-Oppa, you can’t see that!”

“Oh, sorry… I shouldn’t have gone through your stuff like that…” he apologized

“I-It’s okay.” She let out a nervous laugh

“Did you get your purse?” he asked

“Mhm. We can go now.”

“Okay.”

Jaejoong left the room first

Tiffany waited for Jaejoong to leave first before sighing in relief

She looked at the papers that were in her hands

“Thank God he didn’t read it…”

She put the papers back in and put the envelope on her desk again, then she went downstairs

Then the two left for the party

The party was over, Jaejoong took Tiffany back home

Tiffany went back to her room and put her purse on her bed. She was really tired from the party

She and Jaejoong had to greet almost everyone in the party

Tiffany caught a sight of the envelope that was on her desk. She grabbed it

“I can’t let anyone see this…”

She searched for a lighter and she set it on fire

“Bye bye...” She smirked
