chapter ten - His Parents

Recap:

“Come on” he tugged your arm

You hesitated at first but you decided to just trust Jaejoong

Then you two went inside

You took a deep breath before taking a first step into the huge mansion

“Relax” he whispered into your ear

Jaejoong led you to the living room

And you saw there were 5 people. 3 of them were sitting on the couch that was facing you and the other 2 were on the couch across from them

“Eomma, appa” Jaejoong called, diverting their attentions to him

A pretty looking girl looked up and you were guessing it was his soon-to-be fiancé. She smiled at Jaejoong but  Jaejoong ignored her

His parents turned around

“Omo, Jaejoong-ah, you’re here!” his mother beamed, but then her glance shifted to you “With your… friend?” her expression changed

Jaejoong held up his hand that was holding yours

“Eomma, appa. Ajussi, ajumma and Tiffany… Let me introduce to you all, my girlfriend”

Your heart was beating like crazy when they all looked at you

Jaejoong nudged you lightly from the side

You bowed politely “A-annyeonghaseyo, Lee Hyeri imnida”

His mother stood up, walking closer to you “So, this is the girlfriend?” she said in not a nice way

His mother laughed “Kim Jaejoong, how could you compare that to the beautiful Tiffany here?”

Tiffany was surprised by Jaejoong’s mother’s words but then slightly bowed her head to you to show some respect

You kept silent

“I thought your girlfriend was a beautiful lady with good fashion taste” she examined you from head to toe “I guess I was wrong”

You looked at what you were wearing and then lowered your head

You were wearing a simple peach blouse and a long flowy skirt

“Look, she doesn’t even have confidence” she sneered

The others just kept silent

Jaejoong held your hand tighter as his other fist clenched in anger

“Eomma!” he growled

“What? I’m just saying the fact here”

“Eomma!”

“What?! I’m just telling you the fact that she’s just a poor tramp!”

“EOMMA!” Jaejoong snapped

You finally raised your head and pulled your hand away from Jaejoong’s grip “I get it. I am poor and I don’t have good fashion sense. And I’m not pretty. I’m not suitable for your son, Kim Jaejoong. So as you wish, I will leave now” you slightly bowed your head and turned to leave but Jaejoong grabbed your hand pulled you back

“Don’t leave now, Hyeri. That would just mean you’ve already lost to her” he said firmly without leaving his glare to his mother

Jaejoong sighed deeply “Eomma, I will say this one more time. This is the girl I choose to be my wife, not that” Jaejonog pointed at Tiffany

“Don’t point” his mother scolded

“What are you gonna do about it? Spank me?” Jaejoong asked sarcastically “I’m already an adult, eomma. And just as I said, I have the right to choose who I marry”

“Kim Jaejoong, you are still my son” his mother reminded him

Jaejoong scoffed “What kind of parents forces their child to marry a girl he doesn’t even know?”

“Kim Jaejoong!”

“I am not getting engaged to Tiffany, eomma. And I will never. You just have to accept Hyeri because I’m never letting her go” Jaejoong said

“Let’s go, Hyeri” he whispered to you

And with that, the two of you walked away

“I will disown you, Kim Jaejoong!” his father finally spoke up

Jaejoong stopped and turned his head around “Then disown me, if you have the guts to”
