Chapter 17
☪ Enchanted | A 2010 Girl Group
AUGUST 1st, 2010
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYOJIN!"
The tallest member groggily peaked out from underneath her blanket, her eyes squinting at the bright light that was streaming in the bedroom through the newly opened window.
Once her eyes settled on her smiling members, a tiny smile found its way on her face. "Thank you," her voice was thick, clearly from a person who just woke up.
"Come on, I was actually able to talk them into letting us get a cake," Ellie smiled, tugging at the younger girls arm. Instead of going back to bed (because honestly, sleep is the best gift an idol can get) Kyojin slowly slid out of bed, her arm still in the leaders grasp, and Enchanted made their way into the kitchen.
Sitting by itself atop the tiny kitchen table was a small whip cream frosted cake, the top covered with bright slices of fruit.
"Cake, in the morning?" the birthday girl slowly questioned.
The other three looked deflated at the comment, Sara speaking up, "Well, we're going to be really busy today, and you have your drama reading in a few hours. We rather do it now than rush it tonight at the studio."
"We're off promotion..." Kyojin weakly stated. Once the words came out of she realized how stupid that sounded. It never mattered if they were on promotion or off promotion, the company was always finding ways to run them raged and have their daily schedules full. They began to see the inside of their studio more than anywhere else, even sleeping there on occasion.
"Come on, let's enjoy this while we can," Ellie smiled, grabbing the plates and silverware.
"Have a nice drama reading!" the girls waved off Kyojin, awkwardly standing in the SM parking lot as they watched their van drive away with their member.
"How messed up is that?" Sara scoffed, referencing to the fact that Kyojin has a drama reading on her birthday of all days.
"A lot of things are here," Ana pointed out, twisting on her heel and walking back into the building, the elder two slowly following behind her.
"Which room is our meeting in?" Sara asked, flicking imaginary dirt from underneath her nails.
The leader answered, "Room B13."
Once the girls found the right room, they politely bowed to every person before sitting down at the short white table. On the other end was one of the companies male representatives and a female none of them have ever seen before.
"Since your manager is occupied at the moment, we took it upon ourselves to inform you of some interesting turn outs," the male spoke, his back rigid.
The girls didn't say anything.
"Are you girls familiar with Steve J. and Yoni P.?"
They nodded.
"It seems that the designers are interested in using Enchanted as their models for their Fall/Winter 2011 line."
Ellie and Ana's jaws actually dropped. They were going to model for a high fashion brand? Was that even allowed for such a fresh group?
"Us?" Sara vocalized their thoughts, confusion clear in her voice.
"Yes, you. The designers will be in Seoul in late October which is when they want to see you in person. If all goes well, this could mean a lot for the group." When none of the members said anything the representative dismissed them.
AUGUST 21st, 2010
"I'm so nervous," Ana frowned, nervously watching the makeup artist do her job in the mirror.
"There's no reason to be nervous."
The four Enchanted members turned towards the new person to enter their tiny waiting room. A widely smiling Tiffany stood in the doorway. "You guys should be excited!" she walked into the room, revealing a few other SNSD members trailing behind her.
The members who didn't currently have a hot curling iron to their head, eagerly moved towards their sunbaes/friends.
After a few minutes of conversation Taeyeon randomly said, "Shouldn't you girls be going around and introducing yourself to everyone?"
Ellie raised an eyebrow, confused. "We already met SMTown though?"
"It's a Korean thing," Tiffany explained. "It's polite for the youngest groups to go around and greet everyone."
"One of those things we foreigners will just never understand," Sara shrugged, carelessly speaking in her native French.
Hyoyeon gave the rapper a weird look but explained they only need to say hi and bye, they were expected to stay for an hour. "It's simple, and it'll help your nerves settle before going on stage."
"Then we'll go after we're all ready, thanks for the heads up," Ellie grinned.
"It'll also give you the chance to get more friends than just us," Tiffany laughed.
"Are you saying we're boring?" Taeyeon gave her a wide-eyed look.
The American born's lips made a 'O' shape. "I plead the fifth," and then she comically ran out, the SNSD leader hot on her heels.
"Widen your horizon!" Hyoyeon laughed as she walked backwards out the door, two thumbs up.
"Hopefully you can find more mature friends," Seohyun laughed, waving goodbye.
