Chapter 9
☪ Enchanted | A 2010 Girl GroupEllie | Sara | Oksana | Khione
JANUARY 10th, 2010
It was a half hour past midnight when Enchanted's plane landed on Jeju island. Since they needed the rest Sihyun said they would get time to themselves later in the day once filming was over. The girls were upset by the news, but agreed. One hour is better than nothing.
"I know I'm not supposed to give you girls any clues as to what we're doing," Sihyun began as the van pulled to a stop, "but it's really freaking cool."
The girls twinkled with curiosity, although they did have to wonder if this is one of those only-older-people-think-it's-really-freaking-cool things. They tumbled out of the van just in time for Taeyeon and Leeteuk to talk amongst themselves on camera, discussing things to do with their own groups and questions fans have had regarding the show. The director motioned for them to stay back, since they would appear on screen after the opening.
CAMERA ON
"Welcome Enchanted~!" the leaders cheered, the four girls quickly moving in front of the cameras. "Today we have a special surprise," Taeyeon continued, smiling. "This is something I've wanted to do for awhile but I was too busy. It's apart of the National Jeju Tour and numerous tourists have enjoyed this attraction every year. It's hard to believe but there are caves right underneath our feet that used to be filled to the brim with molten lava."
The members amped up their briefly shocked looks for the cameras. What exactly were they signed up to do today?
"Throughout the island there are multiple different twisting caverns created by the Geomunoreum Vocalno over 100,000 years ago," Taeyeon finished.
"Does lava still flow threw them?" Sara asked seriously. Everyone just ended up laughing at the question, the visual making a face in return.
"Yes, you have to swim through it. Whoever swims the fastest wins," Leeteuk light-heartedly joked.
With a few more words the group turned from the cameras and began walking towards the entrance to the enormous sized tunnels. The ceilings were high enough to fit a small sky scraper, every little sound echoing off the jagged stone walls.
"How is it so warm in here?" Ana questioned. "It's freezing outside."
"Because we're closer to the Earth's core," Kyojin answered, her brown eyes darting eagerly at the cave's walls.
"So instead of us living in an apartment we should live underground in the winter," Ana lightly laughed.
"That would be nice," Ellie added. "Although I don't know where in Seoul we could build a house under ground."
"When we become super famous we'll pool all our money together to make a mansion under ground," Sara grinned, clapping her hands with glee.
"Can I come?" Taeyeon asked. "The SNSD dorm is freezing in winter."
"Everyone can come!" Sara cheered, pumping her arms into the air.
"So these tunnels are 100,000 years old?" Kyojin asked the Suju leader.
Leeteuk looked down at the notes he held in his hands, looking them over before answering, "Some of them were made 300,000 years ago. Scientists don't know the exact date."
"And they've stayed in place for so long?"
He nodded. "Cool right?"
"So cool," the maknae smiled.
"She's nerding out on us," Sara laughed.
"I rather be a nerd than someone who thinks we're swimming in lava," she bit back.
Everyone else laughed, making Sara's nose turn pink in embarrassment. "O-oppa said that not me!"
"Wow, the great Lee Sara is flustered. Wish I could get her to be this quiet at home too," Ellie said.
