Ji Eun finally finished the song she wrote; sadly this song was the thirteenth song she wrote to her lover, Kim Jonghyun. Her eyes began to shed tears just like every other time it did, her heart would ache so much, she couldn’t breathe, and her legs were to weak to stand up. Every time she thought of Jonghyun, played a song that went towards him, made paper star, anything that reminded herself of him, she’d always be the first to cry.

“Ji Eun ah, its mom, can I come in dear?” Her mother asked and knocked on the door. Ji Eun quickly wiped her tears on the sleeve of her shirt and smiled, “Come in Umma!”

Her mother came in with some dumplings for snacks and a small bowl of soy sauce.
“Umma….. I’m not very hungry…..” Ji Eun laughed softly.

“Oh, well, that doesn’t excuse me to leave right?” Her mother smirked and placed the tray onto Ji Eun’s desk. She sat beside Ji Eun on her bed; the room was silent, but not an awkward silent, as if Ji Eun’s troubles disappeared from just the sight of her mother.

“So….. Room, looking nice honey!---- OH! What is this!?” Her mother asks picking up her notebook with lyrics and poetry written all over them, “WAIT! UMMA!”

Her mother scrolled through the pages and her mother’s face wouldn’t stop beaming at the sight of each page. Ji Eun puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms.

“Mom, there is something that’s called personal space, every child needs.”

“Ay, you’re not a child anymore, you’re in college now! So since you wanna be a singer your fans need to know more about you, like how you keep five pictures of Jonghyun in here!” Her mother revealed.

“UMMA!” Ji Eun whined and snatched the notebook away,

“Haha….. Dear, why didn’t you tell me you still love Jonghyun? I could’ve talked to your father of us  staying in Seoul.”

“Umma…… Have you ever had the feeling of when you know someone you cherish deeply and inside you know you weren’t supposed to be with them in the first place?”

“How will I know that if he doesn’t know I feel that way towards him?”

“But he’s a kingka.”

“A kingka? Is that what you kids call it these days?”

Ji Eun blew her bangs and put away her notebook in her drawer,
“Forget it, you wouldn’t understand……” Ji Eun sighed.

“Aniyo dear….” Her mother patted Ji Eun on the head and place her daughter’s head on her shoulder,
“When I met your father, he was in the varsity football, he was valedictorian, and he got accepted to every awesome  colleges in America, I was known as the geeky kid in school, but I had a passion for singing. I had the same feeling also, I didn’t have the guts to confess because he seemed perfect, but when I did have the guts, he said he liked me also, now look at us! Married for seventeen years, with a beautiful and talented daughter, amazing home, and a wonderful family...”

“Umma…… You still don’t get it.”

Her mother chuckled and kissed her head,
“Of course I do, but I want you to find the real answer hon. You’re not a child anymore, you’re a young woman now, about to enter the real world. And there’s some things in this world that even a parent can’t teach but the child must learn by themselves.”

Ji Eun nodded and wiped a tear that down her cheek. Her mother cuddled her child and smiled,
“Just forget about it and rest dear, after all, tomorrow’s your big audition!”

Jonghyun’s P.O.V

“Yah, Jonghyun, why aren’t you eating?” Key asked, Jonghyun looked up and snapped out of his trance,
“Uh…… What are you talking about? Of course I am!” Jonghyun smiled fakely and ate a chunk of his pasta.

“I smell something fishy….. Did you have a fight with Sekyung noona?” Taemin asked with a mouthful.

“Oooooh! What happened?!” Onew questioned biting his fifth chicken,

Jonghyun rolled his eyes and threw his utensils to the plate,
“Can we not talk about it!?” Jonghyun yelled across the room, echoing through the dining room all the way to the hall.

The entire table was silent and the SHINee members all stared at Jonghyun paranoid. Minho patted Jonghyun’s shoulder, “Calm down, we’re just trying to help.” Minho stated. Jonghyun twitched and stood up making the utensils shake,

“Well don’t ask! It has nothing to do with you guys!” Jonghyun barked and left out the dining room to his bedroom. He quickly slammed the door, locked it, and fell onto his king sized bed.

“Aish! There’s nothing wrong with me!” Jonghyun yelled and messed up his hair, He placed his right hand over half his face and felt his face burning, “Why is my face hot? I don’t even feel sick….” Jonghyun mumbed.

He turned his head and saw Ji Eun’s application and her picture front of his face as if it were meant to be. He gazed at her picture and his heart began to beat.

“Stop doing this dumb heart…… I don’t get it…… I have Sekyung! Sekyung! I love her and it has been like that for three years! Then why……”

Jonghyun turned to Ji Eun’s picture again,
“Lee Ji Eun…….. Where have you been? I’ve been trying to find you for three years……Why did you show up in my life so randomly? I wanted…… To thank you Ji Eun…… you were my one and only inspiration to become a singer, why I auditioned, why I was here now…… I wanted to become a singer, so one day to find you and wanted to know how you’ve been doing, I wanted to tell you that I became a singer because when I first saw you and heard you sing that song for me in the back of the school, how much fun you were having…… I wanted to be the same person you wanted to be. A singer who just did it for the music and only for that.  Did you see me on T.V? Did you know I’m in one of the best well known groups in the entire Seoul?  Did you debt? Which company? Why not SM? Where were you? Why didn’t you contact me or Sekyung all these years? Why didn’t you tell me you were moving and that was your last day? What happened to you?”

Jonghyun faced up the ceiling and placed his hand on his forehead,
“Well……. I guess I might see her tomorrow…… I hope she comes… Then I’ll find all my answers…..”
