Sungmin and Eunhyuk spent the next two days touring Jeju. They took a tour round the three waterfalls of Jeju. They also spent an entire afternoon at Jungmun Beach. They took off their shoes and walked in the fine white sand. Seeing that the tide was low and manageable, both of them also waded into the waters for a quick swim.

Eunhyuk felt a little mischievous and decided to splash water at Sungmin. Sungmin, who was caught unaware, decided to get his revenge and retaliated at Eunhyuk. They ran about in the water with Sungmin chasing Eunhyuk. Sungmin suddenly tripped and fell causing Eunhyuk to turn round and rush towards Sungmin’s side. But Sungmin just pulled Eunhyuk into the water. Realising that he was tricked, Eunhyuk got up and started to splash more water on Sungmin, but Sungmin only grabbed Eunhyuk causing him to fall into the waters where they roughed and tumbled it out for dominance over the other. After a struggle, Eunhyuk was on top of Sungmin. Sungmin’s face and hair were all wet and appeared lustrous under the gleaming sun. He wanted to kiss Sungmin there and then, but he quickly restrained himself and turned away. Making some excuse that he wanted to go surfing for a while, he quickly picked himself up. Eunhyuk also tried to convince Sungmin to accompany him in surfing, but Sungmin politely turned Eunhyuk down, preferring to stay on the shore to relax.

The next day they went on a trek up Mount Halla. Eunhyuk came all prepared with lots of water and snacks to see them through the trek up to the summit. Eunhyuk would follow behind Sungmin and would take breaks from time to time to ensure that Sungmin would not be too fatigue and drained. Eunhyuk would constantly offer Sungmin water and food though Sungmin would politely decline at times. Sungmin appreciated Eunhyuk’s concern, but somehow he felt that Eunhyuk was overreacting and overprotective.

“I really need to start exercising and get myself back into shape. All this time of staying at home really made me lazy and weak,” Sungmin thought to himself.

“Come on, let’s go for a seafood meal,” Eunhyuk persuaded Sungmin.

“Do you like seafood or have something against seafood?” Sungmin teased.

He could remember Eunhyuk fuming and swearing at a certain Lee Donghae for being such a miser and cheapskate when Sungmin told him what Cho Kyuhyun had said about Donghae won’t reimbursing them for their stay at the resort in the Seogwipo area because it was over the magazine’s budget.  

Eunhyuk was also unhappy when he heard Sungmin hitched a ride from Kyuhyun in a car with a retractable top, muttering that the car should have been his if not for a certain show-off Lee Donghae and his status.

“No. But since Jeju is near the sea, the seafood is fresher,” Eunhyuk replied. “Besides you like seafood, don’t you?”

“I do...but we have been eating it for the last two evenings. Aren’t you sick and tired of it? Let’s grab a barbecue for a change instead,” Sungmin suggested.

Sungmin knew that Eunhyuk was not a big lover of seafood lover as compared to Sungmin. He probably preferred meat instead.

“I know you like this seafood restaurant here in Jeju City. I’ve never eaten at this place before. I want to give it a try. Come on, we’re nearby,” Eunhyuk urged.

Sungmin knew that Eunhyuk was doing his best to accommodate and give in to him so he just nodded his head in agreement so as not to disappoint Eunhyuk.

Deep within, Sungmin knew Eunhyuk was trying his best to cheer him (Sungmin) up and lift his (Sungmin’s) spirits and for that Sungmin was really appreciative. The trip in Jeju helped him to remember what it was like to be in the outdoors. He made a silent resolve to try to walk out of his mourning and sadness, to get back into the world again. 

Yet Sungmin could not help but think back of the times he and Siwon shared together when they were in Jeju – hiking up Mt Halla, swimming at Jungmun Beach, posing for photos together. But for every memory of Siwon, Sungmin’s thoughts started drifting to another new person – a certain Cho Kyuhyun. Sungmin could not forget the silhouette of the lanky man with his tousled locks flowing in the wind as the man admired the sunrise, that arrogant smirk and evil chuckle of his, his gentleness when he tried to blow the dust out of Sungmin’s eyes, the warmth of his hand when he reached out to grab Sungmin to safety, or the melodious and rich tone of his voice when he sang along to the song.

Sungmin couldn’t understand why he was thinking of the stranger whom he barely knew for hours. Why was this man leaving such an impression on him?

Sungmin quickly brushed the thoughts off.

“There’s no point thinking about that man since he has a girlfriend. I should be thinking of Wonnie. I mustn’t forget him,” Sungmin thought to himself.

But just then Sungmin’s heart started to thump harder against his chest. He could feel his heartbeat accelerate as he and Eunhyuk stepped into the restaurant.

And seated at one of the tables were Cho Kyuhyun and Victoria Song. Although his head and face was slightly tilted downwards, Sungmin could recognise him. Cho Kyuhyun was clutching at his chest and Victoria was leaning forward to check on him.

And then Cho Kyuhyun lifted his face and his gaze locked onto Sungmin’s as they came face to face with one another.

Thank you guys for your patience. I know I've been on a long hiatus. And no, I've not abandoned this story. 

I've been on a long vacation which took me from Singapore to New York, Washington DC and Boston as well as to Seoul on my way back to watch some concerts (Infinite's and B1A4's) which was a great experience. They were superb and I enjoyed the two group's performances with the live bands.

I know this update is short. Sorry, I'm still trying to adjust back to life back in Singapore. I suffered from a lack of sleep on my holidays and I've been feeling fatigued. I've also been feeling upset due to some stuff at work. So bear with me a bit as I try to return to my normal schedule. And I have to write about my trip. So my updates might be a bit slow.
