I can't do this anymore...I've tried everyday, pushed harder and harder, just to forget you. To erase the image of your smile tattooed into my memories, to drown out the sound of your laugh that rings through the empty rooms. My eyes burn a hole through the ceiling every night as I lay in the cold, empty bed; afraid that if I look over and see you lying next to me. 

 

  I've broken every picture, I've tarnished every gift, the necklace that once held such happy meaning now hangs heavily around my neck, weighing my shoulders down like chains. My pain too great for alcohol's affect to last more than a few hours, only numbing the pain temporarily. 

 

  Nothing I do makes it go away. If you saw me like this you would think I've lost my mind...
