In love?

Under False Pretenses ♥;

“Personal space.” Changmin’s tone was still as cold as ever as he uttered those icy words towards Ji Yoo that Friday morning. The latter rolled her eyes before moving her seat an inch or so away from her partner. It was that dreaded Biology class again and the fact that he was her partner and they needed to sit next to each other was proving to be like hell for her.

“There, happy?” She muttered as she settled on her seat. As expected, Changmin didn’t reply and kept his gaze straight. Ji Yoo rolled her eyes again. “Oh what did I do to deserve this misery?” She said more to herself but the guy on her right heard it clearly.

“You really called it a misery, huh?” The boy with soft features and a subtly killer smile asked, clearly amused. His charming eyes wandered from Ji Yoo to Changmin then back again at Ji Yoo.

“What would you call it then if it were you?” Ji Yoo raised an eyebrow.

“Death, probably.” The boy chuckled as if Changmin didn’t hear him. Lucky for him the so-called robot was used to this kind of thing. “I’m Wooyoung, by the way.” He greeted, holding out his hand.

“Oh, Ji Yoo.” She greeted back, taking his hand and shaking it. Damn, his skin didn’t only look soft, it felt really soft. Ji Yoo had to hide a blush and had to remind herself that she wasn’t here as a girl so she could stop herself from flirting (since when did she learn how to flirt anyway?).

“Yeah, I kinda know you. You do know you’re popular, you know?” Wooyoung smiled a smile that made Ji Yoo’s heart flutter.

“I, huh?” Was all that she could mutter.

“You’re popular. Being a new guy who happens to be the great Kim Heechul’s cousin has its perks.”

Ji Yoo couldn’t stop the blush from crossing her cheeks anymore. “I, uh, wouldn’t actually call it as ‘perks’.” She said shyly.

“Oh, so you’re modest too. That’s something that your cousin doesn’t have. It’s uniquely you.” Wooyoung said it and she could swear she saw interest spark in those charming almond shaped eyes of his. Ji Yoo could only smile shyly.

“Ehem,” An icy cold voice rudely interrupted their conversation. “If you don’t mind, the lecture’s starting and you two flirting loudly is quite annoying. Keep it down or continue it after class. Unlike you two, there’s someone here who’s actually studying.” Changmin muttered rather angrily as he glared at both of them.

Wooyoung merely blinked at the seemingly-angry-for-no-reason robot while Ji Yoo opened up to talk. “Yah! We’re not flirting!” she yelled all too defensively. It was a little too loud that a number of heads turned their way, including Kwon-sonsaengnim’s.

“Kim Ji Yoo, is there anything you would like to share to the class?” The teacher asked, peering sternly at her through his black spectacles.

Ji Yoo gulped and smiled apologetically. “No, sonsaengnim. I’m sorry, sonsaengnim.”

Kwon-sonsaengnim raised an eyebrow at her before he returned back to what he was discussing.

Relieved, Ji Yoo drew out a puff of air out of .

“Flirt, talk. I think it’s still the same. We’re talking right?” Wooyoung suavely said from beside her.

Ji Yoo turned to look at him inquiringly.

“Just saying. You’re pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind talking to you more soon, outside the class that is.” Wooyoung flashed at smile towards her before finally gazing at the chalkboard in front.

His demeanor left Ji Yoo confused. Did he just kinda sorta ask me out? She couldn’t help but think.

That night, Heechul went inside their dorm room and found Ji Yoo sitting on her bed. She was hugging her knees and staring blankly at the wall.

“What happened to you?” He asked. “I think I entered a ward in the mental hospital rather than our dorm room.”

Ji Yoo slowly turned to look up at him. “OPPPAAAAA~” she whined.

“Yah! What’s up with you?”

“I… I… I… I think I’m in love.” She gasped in a dramatic way that Heechul had only seen a few times from his cousin. Yes, being dramatic runs in their family. Heechul just happened to have more of it than Ji Yoo does but when she unleashes it, oh boy.

“Woah, what did Changmin do to make you fall in love with him?”

“Say what?!” Ji Yoo looked almost disgusted with her cousin’s comment.

“Judging by that look, I can say it’s not Shim Changmin.” Heechul said.

“Aigoo, oppa! I’d die a thousand deaths first before I would fall in love with that piece of soulless metal.” She spat.

“So who’s the unlucky guy then?” Heechul asked as he plopped himself down on the edge of his bed.

With that question, Ji Yoo’s face instantly softened and it turned back into a dreamy, girly stare that didn’t quite sit well with Ji Yoo’s features. “Jang Wooyoung…” She placed her hands on her chest and dramatically lied down on the bed.

“You do know that it looks weird when you do that.” Heechul couldn’t help but comment.

“Ignoring that comment, oppa.”

Heechul rolled his eyes. “So what happened? Why are you all suddenly so girly mushy with Wooyoung-sshi?”

“He’s an angel that saved me from the clutches of the devil named Shim Changmin.” She sighed dreamily.

“I shall pretend I understood that.”

Ji Yoo bolted up from her bed and returned her gaze from the ceiling back to Heechul. “He’s sorta kinda asked me on a date, I think. He said flirting and talking was just the same and he said he wanted to talk to me more, outside of school!” She squealed and Heechul had to cover his ears.

“Yah, I don’t really like bursting your bubble, but I just have to remind you that you’re here pretending to be a boy. And I pretty much think Wooyoung-sshi thinks you’re a hundred percent boy. Okay, so I don’t personally know if he’s gay or not but still… Besides, haven’t you told me Scary Lee's onto you? Acting all soft and dramatic certainly wouldn’t help your cause, cousin.”

Ji Yoo slumped down on her bed. Her cheery smile was now replaced by a grim frown. “Oh damn. You’re right, oppa.”

“Hyung,” Heechul corrected. “Just to be safe, always call me hyung.”

“Fine. Hyung.” Ji Yoo muttered. She took a pillow and covered her face with it. “Phooey.”

-♥-♥-♥-

It was Saturday morning and Yeoleum Academy was quieter than usual. Most of the boys had gone home last night to spend their weekends with their families. One of the few exceptions was Shim Changmin. During weekends, he stays in his dorm room, studying for the most part and going out only when he felt like it. He felt more comfortable being a loner. He was used to it. And most of the guys in this school didn’t like him much anyway.

The only problem Changmin had with being a loner is that he had no one to turn to when it came to unavoidable problems. Unavoidable little problems, that is. Like the one he was having that sunny Saturday morning.

“Damn, I’m all out of shampoo.” He muttered to himself as he threw the empty bottle of shampoo at the trash bin. It was still too early for any of the nearby stores to be open so he didn’t have the option of buying a new shampoo bottle. Although there’s always the option of just showering later but Changmin didn’t want that. He wanted to take a bath now.

Heaving out a calculated sigh, Changmin headed out of his dorm room. Knowing that Heechul—and perhaps that dreaded cousin of his—was the only one in their floor that was staying for the weekends besides him, Changmin proceeded and knocked on his door. There was no answer but the door swung open an inch or two. He knocked again, just to be sure but still no answer. Being impatient, Changmin barged in. He found the room empty. Shrugging to himself, Changmin tried to find what he was looking for. Unlike his room, there were two beds there, one on the right side and the other on the left. The left one looked more like Heechul’s for there were mirrors and other things that looked like make-up and dozens of beauty products on it. Changmin marched towards that bed and, luckily, he found a few sachets of pink shampoo and Changmin was sure they were an expensive brand. He took one anyway but before he could even move towards the door, a cell phone rang and with it came a muffled voice from inside the bathroom.

Changmin panicked and quickly hid himself in the huge closet that was in between the two beds. He had never snuck in someone else’s room before and he didn’t quite know what to do now. But he did, however, held his breath, just to be safe. It would be bad if ever Heechul found out Changmin took one of his sachets of expensive shampoo.

“Oppa?” A softer version of a familiar voice popped up after he heard the bathroom door close.

Confusion struck Changmin with the word. “Oppa?” He mouthed.

“Aigoo. He’s gone to who knows where again.” The girl—yes, it was clearly a girl and the fact really confused Changmin—muttered loudly to herself. Changmin heard movements as she went to get her phone.

“Hello?” He heard him answer. “Oh, Su Ae-yah! Yeah, yeah. I know it took me long to answer it, I was in the shower for crying out loud.” She giggled. “Later? Er, since I won’t be doing anything for today and oppa left me alone again, sure, I’d definitely come over. Meet you later? Okay, bye.”

As the girl hung up, Changmin noticed a black bra hanging on the side of the closet. It only confirmed what Changmin had been suspecting: there was a girl staying at Yeoleum Academy. And he thought he might know just who that person is.

And as if by cue, she happened to walk by Changmin’s line of vision. Through the thin gap between the closet doors, Changmin could see her clearly; the white towel wrapped around her, her dripping wet dark brown hair, and her features that Changmin had despised yet was secretly curious about… It was Kim Ji Yoo. And Changmin finally realized why the guy was a little off to him. He really wasn’t a guy. She’s a girl. A female… who happened to be completely save for the towel draped around her body and who happened to be, technically, in front of Changmin.

He could feel his face turn red hot at this little fact. His eyes twitched as he tried to take his eyes off her. Changmin failed though, telling himself that he should watch whatever’s her next move is and hope to the high heavens that she wouldn’t plan on looking inside the closet next.

Fortunately for him, his prayers were answered. Ji Yoo moved towards Heechul’s bed and seemed to get something from it. “Aish, so here’s the conditioner. I’ve been looking everywhere for this.” She said before walking back towards the direction of the bathroom.

Changmin heard the bathroom door close and the shower turn on a few seconds later. It was then that he finally released the breath he was holding. He slowly pushed one of the closet’s doors, peeking first to see if the coast was clear and, seeing that it was, Changmin quickly dashed outside and into his own dorm room. Feeling a little paranoid, Changmin quickly locked himself inside his bathroom.

“Damn. I think I need a really cold shower.” He said without thinking.
Soooo...
Omg, her secret's out! D: Even if it's only Changmin who knows (well, hyori too, but there's still hope she could get fooled) it's still baaad.
Now what he's gonna do? Will he let her know he knows? (lol, it reminds me of that I-know-that-you-know-that-i-know-(...) thing xD) Btw, the last line cracked me up x)
And Wooyoung. So unexpected for him to get into the picture~ But I kinda like him, so YAY for one more hot guy getting more screen-time, haha x) But Ji Yoo is absolutely not allowed to like Wooyoung over Changmin! After seeing Keep Your Head Down MV and watching live performances of the duo, I now find Changmin extremely hot x) I think he might have moved up a spot in my DBSK-favs chart, lolz xD

And yayayay, a spoiler, haha x) Woo-hoo Su Ae/Jaejoong interaction! ^w^ I think it'll be funny?... Since she thinks he's gay, and he thinks she's taken, hmm :3 or maybe it won't~ ah, I wanna read it already~ ^^
---
And whatcha mean "tried"? Did you not make it? :/ (what dumb people were the 'judges' then?... >.<)
Horror movies are...well, scary x) I have a love-hate relashionship with them,lol ^-^
THE UPDATE'S AMAZING!!!
Actually, i came back to comment, but I ended up re-reading not only the update but all of the old chapters too xD
Aw, no problem :D I'm just stating the truth here ;P
*huuuuuuuUuuUuUUuuuUUuuuuUuuuuuuuugsssss* :)
no worries, my comment's probably kinda short too, since I'm sleepy as well x) Gotta go to bed soon~!
Oh, and just so you know, I read your Chun update, I just have yet to comment~ x)
