CHAPTER 16 ****** TIME TO GO PUBLIC
I still can’t believe he did that, he kissed me in front of reporters and now we’re trending on twitter, face book, allkpop… oh please someone kill me now, I looked through my twitter account to see loads of fans either asking me to go away or telling me that I’m lucky… but there were more hater fans then there were nice ones. I groaned and put my forehead on the table top, yesterday was the most embarrassing day of my life, why did he kiss me in front of all those paparazzi?
“Some one Yejin it’s time” Daehyun and the other walked into the waiting room I was in at the TS headquarters, I groaned again as Daehyun and Himchan took my hands leading me out of the waiting room.
“But I don’t want to” I moaned as they walked me down the busy hallways hand in hand… they were as happy as neighbourhood idiots but I really didn’t want to face the CEO the days after me and Daehyun became big news. We stopped outside the room that was labelled Producer of TS Entertainment… oh no, after knocking three times Daehyun opened the door and walked me into his office, the rest of the B.A.P members were waiting for me in the room. They were circling a blue chair in front of the desk which Taesung, the CEO, was sat looking at me with strict eyes.
“You must be Yejin” he cheered happily as he jumped off of his chair and rushed towards me, “don’t worry come in and sit down I won’t bite” he smiled at me which was starting the freak me out… a minute ago he was strict and scary looking and now he’s like a soft middle aged man… I sat down and he sat back behind his desk. “Now let’s get down to business” he face momentarily serious, “I hear that your not only going out with our very own Jung Daehyun but your also living in the same apartment… I take it you’ve seen the state of their dorm it’s a mess right…” he said across the table in his gossip voice, but then Daehyun cleared his throat making the fun CEO return to business state.
“Hyung we’re not here to walk about our now clean dorm” Youngjae winked towards me, Taesung looked between us for a while but finally understood
“YOU MADE THEM CLEAN IT UP? ARE YOU A GOD OR SOMETHING” Taesung shouted in disbelief, but he was silenced again by clearing of throats, “oh right, um Yejin looking at your results from your school I have to say I’m impressed by your musical ability” he went back into business mode as he looked through my school papers. “Are you interested in becoming a trainee at all?” he asked me with a still serious face, I began to shake my head quickly
“I have absolutely no talent for becoming a trainee…” I began but then the door burst open and two familiar looking people strutted in… Kai? Kali?
“Are you joking me Yejnnie? You were the best in the class… not scratch that the whole school, seriously sir she is the best trainee your going to get, she doesn’t really need any training if you ask me sir” Kai said in a rush… why was he here? Kali rushed past him and wrapped her arms around my neck to hug me strongly
“Ohmygosh Yejin I’ve missed you soooo much” she said in hyped up English, Kali smiled her half Korean half Native American smile at me, she was still the same as always
“What are you guys doing here?” I asked the couple who were now stood side by side holding hands, Kali fiddled around with her ultra long thick braid and looked at the floor waiting for Kai to answer
“Well I got recruited as a trainee just after you left and Kali was scouted to become a model for TS, we wanted to tell you but we already knew that B.A.P were going to live at your place so we guessed that all we had to do is wait until they heard you sing.” Kai said giving making me feel agitated in some way
“Guys they haven’t heard me sing yet” I mumbled while looking at my tattered blue converse… there was a moment of silence before the two erupted
“WHAT? ARE YOU SAYING YOU’VE NOT SUNG SINCE YOU GOT HERE?” they shouted in harmony, I looked at the clueless members and decided it was time to tell them
“I have been asked to join SM, Woolim, JYP and YG in the 1 year I was at Jeju” I confessed making everyone’s mouth drop to the floor, “I turned them all down because I’m not confident in my singing, and that’s why I don’t want to be a trainee here, honestly I’m not that good” I pouted but I know that once I open my mouth to sing everyone knows that what I’m saying is a lie
“She’s lying, she can sing better then lee Hyori and Lee Hi as well as Christina Aguilera and Edele. Just take her into a booth and listen to her, you’ll be blown away” Kali and Kai said at the same time… sometimes they’re just freaky. Taesung thought about it for a minute before getting to his feet, oh no this can’t be good
“I want to listen to you sing Cho Yejin, would you be so kind as to let me listen?” he asked while holding out his hand, I gave up and took it but my nerves were currently eating at my brain. We walked down the hallway and into the elevator, I held onto Daehyun’s arm as we walked through the crowded hallways
“You look like your about to faint, are you okay?” he asked with a furrowed brow, I took a deep breath in and nodded but he still looked worried about me. When we got into the room I couldn’t take the nerves anymore and tapped Daehyun’s arm
“I think I need to sit down” I whispered but he didn’t get me a chair, instead he picked me up and then sat me on his knee while he sat down
“You didn’t look right earlier, are you sure you want to do this?” Daehyun asked looking as worried as ever but if I don’t do it now I’ll just keep making more excuses not to, I took another deep breath in and nodded. “Do you want me to come in with you?” he held my hand and kissed the back of it, in a trance of his gorgeousness I nodded and then he led me into the booth. “Just keep looking at me okay?” I nodded again, not taking my eyes off of his, Yongguk came in and helped with the set up before leaving without saying something that would make me nervous.
“Oppa…” I whispered feeling butterflies attack my stomach making me more nauseous then nervous, he gave me a small hug before kissing the top of my head
“It’s okay Toki, just keep looking at me remember?” he sounded so sure, but then the music started and I took another deep breath before looking into his eyes instantly going into a trance. I opened my mouth and sang along with the music, it was a duet piece I knew well. We carried on singing through the song, not breaking eye contact, he held my hand all the way through it… but when the music stopped and the sound of clapping interrupted my train of thought making my legs so weak. Daehyun stopped me from falling and looked at me with shocked wide eyes
“What?” I breathed hardly able to speak, before saying anything Daehyun pressed his lips against mine desperately, he put his hands on either side of my face as he kissed me so I couldn’t break free. When he did stop kissing me he looked at me with his smiling eyes making me loose my mind even more
“You are just so perfect it’s unreal, honestly you’re the most amazing girl I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting… and kissing” he smiled cheekily at the last part, I blushed but then we were interrupted by the members running into the room.
“Wow Yejin your voice is amazing” Himchan said giddily but then my friends looked at each other with mischievous smiles
“Yeah but you should see her dancing, she’s also good at freestyle running, track and field, basketball” Kali first started in rusty Korean
“…football, baseball, tennis, jujutsu, karate, kendo, judo” I got more embarrassed every time they said one of my hobbies, “the only thing she’s bad at is staying still” they laughed together and gave each other a high five… then I saw it… the white gold ring on her left hand…
“OH MY GOSH YOUR ENGAGED?” I yelled at the top of my voice, they paused in mid action before smiling shyly while standing straight
“Yeah I proposed to her on her 20th birthday, we may not be good at each other’s languages but we love each other nevertheless. We’re going to get married on our 4th anniversary” Kai smiled at her and looked at her with affectionate eyes, I smiled happy for the two but then I noticed the members who were totally still on the subject of my talents
“Sorry about this Kai but we kind of need to finish up with Yejin” Taesung patted a loved up Kai’s shoulder before turning his attention back to me, “now that we see you’ve got talent let’s see if we can do anything about your stage fright” he bent down a little to look at me eye level
“We’ve already tried to help her with her nerves but she’s just to attentive for anything, we’ve tried hypnosis, not looking, forcing her, and we’ve even tried to bribe her but it’s just too strong” Kai also went into thought, it’s true that they’ve tried everything but as soon as I get the butterflies I instantly get sick… and then faint… and then get sick some more.
“So how about this for now, you’ll be grouped up with B.A.P, they’ll be your mentors. Daehyun and Youngjae you’ll be vocal coaches, Zelo and Jongup you’ll be dance instructors, Himchan you help her with commercial things and Yongguk you can teach her rap… Zelo can also help with that. We’ll meet ever month from now to go over any progress. For now your all excused, I don’t want you leaving B.A.P’s side okay Yejin?” Taesung asked looking into my eyes again, I nodded and then he returned to the happy-go-lucky Taesung. “Great, for now tomorrow we’ll send you to a stylist and makeup artist to get you a fixed style okay? I can’t tag along but maybe Kai and Kali can go?” he looked behind him at nodding dogs Kali and Kai, I was about to protest but Daehyun covered my mouth and smiled at his boss
“We’ll see you tomorrow then hyung” Daehyun said in a rush, and then with a quick goodbye he left the room with Kali and Kai… Daehyun let go of me and sighed with relief. “Sorry about that Yejin but if you turn down a suggestion to go to the stylist he goes crazy” he shivered with fear and the others copied
“How do you think we got the blonde hair? Hyung wanted to show something that represented our teamwork and therefore he turned into blonde aliens… but the alien part was a little… silly at first but I guess it’s growing on us” Himchan laughed a little and sorted his new hair a little, I sighed and stood up straight…
“So who’s going to coach me first?” I asked them suddenly feeling the urge to beat my stage fright… they all put their hands up like eager little kids in a classroom that all knew the answer to a question. “Um as it’s the one I’m at most, maybe we should start with Yongguk and Zelo?” I said as though it was a question but then everyone but Yongguk and Zelo groaned.
“Rapping is easier then you think, but really it depends on your breathing” Zelo said putting an arm around my shoulders
“Exactly maknae, first we’ll see how fast you can talk… well rap” Yongguk said also putting his arm around my shoulders, together they led me over to the mic. “Do you know our first song Warrior?” I nodded, “can you remember any of the rap parts?” all of them but I just nodded. “Great let’s hear them” I started to rap to Zelo’s part but… then came the LTE rap… I didn’t even try and rap to it
“Yeah I don’t think that rapping is your thing” Yongguk and Zelo looked at me with worried glances, they practiced with me until they had to go off to film their music video… which I also had to tag along to… we were there about 8 hours and then we had to return back home… but what was there to meet us was monstrous, hundreds of screaming fans with massive sighs were surrounding the dorms
“Oppa” I squeaked as I hid behind Daehyun too afraid to read the signs, he patted my head and kissed my forehead
“It’ll be okay, just stick with me and you’ll be fine” he whispered before kissing my forehead again, then we stopped outside the dorms, Yongguk opened the door and stayed in front of me while the rest of the B.A.P members surrounded me.
“CHO YEJIN CHO YEJIN CHO YEJIN” the fans chanted surprising me, I looked up at the signs and started to read them, ‘we love you Yejin’ ‘BABYz will support you two’ ‘YeDae’ ‘Pretty Yejin Unnie’ I blushed at the signs and smiled as I clung to Daehyun as they ran me down the strip of street that security had managed to draw. When we got inside we looked back at the screaming fans… they liked me now?
“DIE CHO YEJIN” a girl’s screaming came from behind me just before a sharp feeling of pain made me fall to the floor, the fans outside went hysteric as someone climbed on top of me and started pulling at my hair. A woman in her 20s was screaming and yelling at me while trying to pull my hair out, Jongup grabbed the woman with help from Yongguk and the others helped me up and instantly shielded me from the mad woman
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?” Daehyun shouted at the top of his lungs, it actually hurt my ears it was that loud, “THAT WAS MY GIRLFRIEND YOU JUST ATTACKED, SOMEONE WHO I LOVE, your no BABY your nothing but an evil self-centred women. Get her out of my sight” he glared at her making her burst out into tears. All of a sudden a police car arrived outside scattering the now silent fans, five police men ran in and took the woman while another two came over to me
“Are you okay miss? Someone called us saying there had been an attack” the police officer looked at my head and then their eyes widened at my neck area, “were you hit?” they took a step forward but Daehyun instantly wrapped me up in his arms and gave the officer an untrusting look
“Please don’t touch her” he begged, I looked up at him and saw that he was crying… he was crying for me? The police officer sighed and looked at Daehyun before a paramedic came rushing in followed by two small teenagers, they scurried over to me and looked at me worried
“We saw the woman coming for you and called the police and an ambulance, lucky they were only around the corner… are you okay Yejin-ssi?” the girl with shoulder length straight hair asked in a strong Busan accent. I smiled at them and nodded but then they looked at my neck and their reaction was the same as the police officers
“Sir I need to look at her, she’s bleeding for goodness sake” the paramedic said desperately, Daehyun hesitated but removed his arms from me… his shirt… was covered in blood… my blood. My hand instinctively went to my neck… it was wet… I pulled my hand away and saw my fingers covered in red
“Yejin…” Yongguk began but took a step towards me and held out a hand but before he got to me my legs gave way and I started shaking in shock… I had been hit over the head with something… I tried to look around but the room was spinning, and then I saw it, she’d hit me over the head with a red brick that had been painted black with a white Matoki bunny in the middle… everyone was crowding around me… the paramedic was trying to talk to me but all I could hear were hysterical fans who were trying to get past the police and security… and then my vision went blank and I heard Daehyun yelling my name…
…
…
“Yejin please wake up, please, please, please” I heard Daehyun’s voice begging, I opened my heavy eyes and someone grabbed my hand, “Yejin baby, Toki your awake thank god” Daehyun gasped while squeezing my hand
“Daehyun don’t squeeze her hand too hard you’ll break it, hey Yejin are you feeling okay? Do you want a drink?” Himchan’s worried umma voice sounded muffled but after a few blinks I was fully awake
“Oppa?” I whispered with a dry mouth, they felt chapped and sore, all of a sudden all 6 members were crowded around me, I was in my room… but didn’t I get hit? shouldn’t I be in hospital
“Here drink this” Yongguk said helping me up before giving me a bottle of water, “you gave us a little scare fainting like that, but the doctor said your physically fine. She hit your shoulder pretty hard but there was no damage done apart from a deep cut but it’s been stitched up and dressed so you’ll live” he laughed but that didn’t explain why I was still home… how long had I been asleep?
“You’ve been asleep for about 3 hours, the doctors said that you only fainted from the sigh of blood, I never thought that you were that type of person” Youngjae laughed but shut up when I glared at him. “Well someone’s not a morning person” he mumbled while leaving the room with a now empty bottle.
“Sorry for making you guys worry” I said, my throat still feeling dry after I’d drunk the water, there was a familiar barking sound before Mato came running into the room, my friends following in after her. “Junsu? Yeunja? What are you guys doing here?” they just walked in and sat on my bed smiling at me
“We saw the article” they said in harmony… I blushed and looked down at my hands but to make the embarrassment worse Daehyun came over and sat next to me before holding my hand making the others meep.
“Ohmygosh you two are just so adorable” Miyoung squeaked while clapping her hands
“But there was a major fight online over night” Junsu said while observing his newly manicured hands
“The BABYz were going at each other but by 6ammost of them were on YeDae’s side” Mina blurted with excitement while doing a little dance
“Do you know you already have a fan page on facebook?” my brothers said in harmony as they walked into the room… is everyone here?
“I also heard about your trainee position, I always knew you would give into the scouts” my sister also entered the extremely cramped room… why is everyone here?
“They’re here to talk about the current situation, we’ve got to talk about your relationship with Daehyun” Youngjae walked back into the room with a fresh bottle of water, “now that your part of B.A.P we’ve got to think about not only your newly found publicity but also about how we’re going to protect your from hater fans… but first it’s late and Himchan has for to take the visitors to the nearest TS residents” everyone gave me a goodbye and left… making the place suddenly feel lonely
“Don’t worry I’ll sleep with you tonight” Daehyun smiled and got in next to me, “I don’t want to leave you alone after today” he kissed me forehead and laid down, closing his eyes… I was also about to go to sleep when the dorm phone went off, someone answered it but then slammed it back down again… but then it went off again… what’s going on? Daehyun looked towards the door as Yongguk walked in
“It’s Taesung calling about Yejin, he said he’s going to call every half an hour to check up… I can’t unplug the phone either because Zelo has an important call” Yongguk groaned before going back out closing the door after him… this is going to be a long night
“You thought it” Daehyun chuckled before going silent again, I smiled and cuddled up with him before going to sleep… only to be woken up 30 minutes later… and then another 30 minutes after that… this really is going to be a long night
