CHAPTER ONE ******* WELCOME HOME
“Yejin over here!!” a familiar voice called me in the middle of the hustle and bustle of what is Incheon national airport. My best friend Mina was running towards me with a colourful banner with my name on it above her head, she rammed into me and gave me a suffocating hug
“Aigoo I missed you chingu” she said squeezing me even more, I gasped and tapped her shoulder “omo mianhae” she said instantly letting me go
“It’s okay Mina, wow you have grown tall haven’t you” I said taking a step away from her, she must be well over 170cm now… I, however, am only 163cm and I’m proud of it
“Yeah I’m 174cm now, it’s handy when I go shopping, I can spot a deal from a mile away” she said with a proud smile, we both laughed and made our way to her car. “So how was Jeju? I heard there’s some really cute guys there” she said raising her eyebrows, I blushed and stopped to open the front pocked of my suitcase which has all my photo’s in.
“This is Kai, I worked with him at the hotel, he was also in my biology class” I bragged, here eyes widened and she gingerly took the photo off of me, Kai was stood next to me semi with full abs action.
“Oh my gosh you lucky devil, but I’m a little worried about you” she said looking me up and down, I looked down at me to and then back at her
“Why?” I said a little wary of her answer, she gave the photo back and lifted my arms up
“You’ve lost too much weight, you’ve only been gone for a year and a half, how could you have changed from a chubby little stump to a miniature swim suit model” she said innocently, I blushed and contained my laughter
“You’ve also changed, you used to be so small and baby faced, a lot happens in a year” I said before loading my massive suitcase in the boot of her black Mercedes. “Your parents are treating you nicely” I said tapping the car, she smiled and swirled the keys on her finger
“I promised that if I attended the college they wanted me to go to they’d buy me a car, speaking of family how’s yours been?” she said before getting in the car, I hopped in too and put my seatbelt of.
“My dad’s still in America and my mum’s still in Jeju, my sister is somewhere in Australia and my brothers are in England” I said counting them on my fingers, Mina’s face blushed when I mentioned my brothers.
“So, um, mum’s making Kimchi fried rice if you want to stay over at my place?” she said pulling out onto the highway, I thought over the offer and decided to decline it
“Sorry Mina, I was wanting to make Jajangmyun and kimchi pancake” I said bragging, she her lips and gulped
“Can I stay over at yours?” she begged, I laughed and nodded. She jumped up and down in her seat and screeched, “it seams like forever since we last had a sleepover” she said giddily.
“This is going to be awesome, can we stop by the supermarket on the corner, I want to get some snacks” I said craving some choco pie. We stopped by the old supermarket which was just down the road from my parent’s house, we got some choco pie, pepero, cheesecake, banana milk and the same old Mina got an extra large Iced Americano.
“The house is going to feel so lonely, my mum said that I’ll have to live alone until my uncle can come and look after me” I said unlocking the front door, I opened it and hundreds of memories flooded my mind. “Wow it’s just the same” I said dragging my suitcase through the door, it’s a traditional Hanok with ten bedrooms and three bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen… my parents own a hotel business so they can afford a few luxury homes.
“Yeah, I remember when we used to run in here with our shoes on and your mother would go crazy, she’d grab our feet and tickled us with her feather duster” Mina said making us both laugh at the memories. We headed into my old room and jumped on my old bed, looks like my mum sent a cleaner in... everything looks really clean which made the place look even more lonely.
"So what movies have I missed?" I said sliding off of my bed and onto the floor, Mina did the same and gave me a funny look
"You've been to Jeju not the other side of the world" she said sarcastically, I sighed and handed her my old A3 school schedule. She opened it and eyed the busy schedule. "I didn't have that much time for free time, I haven't been keeping up with music or movies or dramas" I grabbed her collar playfully, "I've had serious withdrawal symptoms" she put her hands up and held back her laughter
"You poor thing, okay we've got some serious catching up to do" she said running out of the room, I smiled and carried on unpacking my things. Mina came back in with her bagpack, she got out her phone and started to play a song
"Name the band" she said straight away... from the first word I knew the band
"Big Bang" I said still unpacking, I found my favourite snug fit jumped and put it on a separate pile, I'll wear it tomorrow. She looked through her phone and put another song on, a girl group this time... it took me a while but I soon got it. "Girl's Generation" I said standing up and walking over to my wardrobe, all the hangers were still there. I got them all and put them on the floor next to my clothes, I started hanging them but my favourite jumper got kidnapped
"Oh my gosh this is gorgeous, can I borrow it?" she said getting up and running over to the mirror, she put it up against her but realised that we're no longer the same height, "why am I so tall?" she groaned and passed me the jumped back
"Trust me you'd rather be tall then like me" I said before finishing putting my clothes on the hangers and back in the wardrobe, "I'm starving, I haven't eaten since I was in Jeju" I said running into the kitchen, Mina followed me in and noticed a note on the fridge
"Hey Yejin, this is from your mum" she said handing it to me, it was in English... no wonder Mina didn't read it before me. 'Dear Yejinnie, I know that being alone in a big house is scary so I've made an arrangment with your uncle. He's a manager for an idol group so they'll be moving in with you, I've already sent people to sort out their rooms so you dont need to worry. By the way hi Mina I hope you have a nice time' I sighed a laugh and put the note on the side.
"My uncle's staying over with his idol group" I said looking through the cupboards, she's fully stocked the whole kitchen. I gave up and picked up the bag full of snacks, Mina was staring into space which worried me.
"Hey Yejin, what group does youe uncle manager?" she mumbled to herself, I shrugged my shoulders and got out the choco pie box
"Dunno, all I know is that they're a rookie band" I said before heading to the livingroom, I turned the TV on and looked through the DVDs on the cd rack. "I give up, you pick one Mina" I said leaving the choosing for her, she got one and put it in... A werewolf movie? I hate horrors, she noticed my scared look and laughed
"Yejin it's a dark romance, it's got Song Joongki in it" she said immediatly making me perk up
"Song Joongki?" I said paying attention to the screen, by the end of the movie I was crying my eyes out much to Mina's delight
"I'm not the only one who cries at this movie" she mumbled in the middle of crying, after that movie we watched about 5 more before we fell asleep on the sofa...
I was woken up by a knocking at the door, it was only just starting to get light outside. I looked at the time and groaned, WHO THE HELL KNOCKS ON SOMEONE'S DOOR AT 6AM ON A SATURDAY? I got up and lazily walked over to the mirror, after checking that my straight black long hair was behaving I ran to the door and unlocked it... but when I opened it I didn't get a chance to see who it was because I was suddenly hugged my a large man
"AIGOO MY LITTLE YENJINNIEEEEE" yep that was my uncle alright, he pulled away and put his hands on my shoulders before shaking me, "how's my little girl been?" he didn't let me talk as he suddenly turned around and face away from me. "Okay guys remember the rules I've given you, touch my neice and I will chop your fingers off" then he turned back to me and walked straight past me allowing me to see six guys standing outside my door......... I'M GOING TO BE LIVING WITH A MALE GROUP????????
"Annyonghasaeyo, urin B.A.P, Yessir" they said with hand movements, I just stood there looking at them... I'm living... with 6 guys? Suddenly I felt dizzy and my legs gave way, the last thing I remember 6 blonde guys were running towards me and someone's arms stopped me from falling to the floor...
