Lee Jae Song can NOT believe that this is happening to her.

What did she do wrong that deserved her this?

 

She thought to herself as she trudged along the pavement in Seoul.

 

What did I do…that made him break up with me…?

 

Suddenly, Jae was crying.

 

Tears began to fell onto her clothes.

Jason walked with Jae Song, hand in hand towards the coffee shop where they had met at first.

 

It was their one year anniversary and they were going back to remember how they had met.

 

“Come on Jas! Hurry up!”

 

She cried out excitedly and pulled him behind her.

 

Just as she was about to enter the coffee shop where they had first met, Jason pulled her back.

 

Jae turned around looking at Jason quizzically.

 

“What’s wrong Jas? Why aren’t you coming in?”

 

Jae asked, cocking her head to one side.

 

Jason looked at Jae and knew that things were going down the wrong way and he had to tell her.

 

“Jae…”

 

Jae looked at Jason and smiled.

 

Jason shut his eyes.

 

Every time Jae smiled at him like that, he would feel so guilty.

 

But…he had to tell her.

 

He had to.

 

“Jae…I want to…”

 

Jae looked at Jason.

 

Suddenly, a wave of panic washed over her and she let go of his hand and took a hesitant step back.

 

“Is this…going to hurt me?”

 

Jae asked quietly, almost whispering.

 

Jason looked at Jae and knew, that she had realized something wasn’t right.

 

Jason took a step towards Jae and put one hand on each of her shoulder.

 

“I’m so sorry Jae…”

 

Jason said and suddenly, Jae was crying.

 

“Why are you sorry?”

 

Jae asked, quickly dismissing all her tears on her face.

 

“We can’t be together anymore Jae…I’m so sorry.”

 

Jason said and then walked off.

 

Jae looked at the back of her boy- no, ex-boyfriend and didn’t know what to say and what to do.

Jae cried and cried.

 

She stopped walking and was crouching down, sobbing into her arms.

 

Suddenly, she felt a drop on her arm, and then another one, and another one and she looked up.

 

It was beginning to rain.

 

Jae smiled wryly.

 

“You seem to understand what I’m feeling…”

 

Jae looked up into the sky and back down at the bracelet on her hand.

 

It was her birthday present from her boy- no, no. no.

 

Ex- boyfriend.

 

Ex-boyfriend.

 

Ex-…

 

Jae began to cry again with the rain pouring down on her and nothing to give her shelter.

 

Suddenly, Jae didn’t feel the water on her back anymore and felt a shadow descend upon her.

 

She looked up and saw a worried face look down at her.

 

The person, a boy, around her age and maybe a bit older, crouched down to face her.

 

“Are you alright? Are you lost?”

 

He asked her worriedly.

 

Jae looked at the boy and stood up, her clothes dripping wet.

 

“I-I’m fine *hic*”

 

Jae covered and looked at the boy.

 

He smiled.

 

Suddenly, Jae felt her heart quicken but she stopped it.

 

What are you doing Jae…you don’t even know this person…and Jason just broke up with you…!

 

“AH-CHOO!”

 

Jae sneezed and felt her body shake.

 

She wrapped her arms around herself and looked up at the boy who was taking off his snow jacket.

 

He pulled it around Jae and zipped it up.

 

“Here…use my jacket.”

 

Jae smiled at this boy.

 

For some odd reason, this boy looked…familiar…as if she had seen him somewhere before.

 

But her mind wasn’t working.

 

It was numb from all the crying and crouching in the rain.

 

“Take my umbrella. You need it more than me.”

 

The boy said again, take her hand and making sure she was holding onto the umbrella strongly.

 

“But…what about you?”

 

Jae said in a quiet voice looking up at the person.

 

He does look familiar…who is he…?

 

He smiled at her.

 

“I’m fine. My apartment is just across the street.”

 

“But-“

 

Suddenly, without a goodbye, the boy ran off into the rain, leaving a trail of fresh scent behind him.

 

Jae looked at the back of the boy disappear and looked up at the umbrella in her hand and looked down at the jacket.

 

Jae didn’t know what to say and what to do so she just slowly walked back to her apartment, shivering and cold.

 

A few days had passed since Jason broke up with Jas and a few days since Jae had met that boy which she still thought she recognized.

 

*Loverholic, robotrolic, loverholic, robotrolic…*

 

Jae’s mobile began to ring with SHINee’s song, Lucifer.  

 

“Annyeong?”

 

She said into the phone, while putting on her high heels, reading to go to work.

 

“Where are you?!”

 

Her friend, Ki said to her.

 

“I’m about to leave. I should be there in about-“

 

Jae looked at her watch.

 

“Half an hour.”
