“I’m going to become a famous singer one day under my mom’s entertainment,” a young Yifan tells his childhood friend Tao one Sunday afternoon day. Tao glances at his friend who’s lying on his family’s green front yard, “Are you sure you want that kind of life? A life where there are always people following your every move?” Tao asks, pulling his knees up against his chest and rests his chin on his knees. Yifan lets out a sigh and tucks both of his hands under his head, acting as a pillow, “Tao…my father is the CEO to the second most successful business here in Korea and plus my mother is the CEO to Star Entertainment, even if I don’t walk down the road of being a singer, my life would still be chased after because my parents are famous.”

Tao nods his head and tries to tuck his legs in closer to his body, “I guess you do have a point there.”

Yifan  smiles and chuckles, “I always do Tao,” he breathes out, shutting his eyes from the bright sun up above. Tao glances down at Yifan again and fidgets, “Gege,” he begins with a soft voice.

“Hm?” Yifan answers, still with his eyes shut. Tao bit the bottom of his lips, “I was wondering…if one day you do get famous and all…will you still remember me? A nobody in this world?”

Yifan’s eyes shoot open and he immediately sprang up into a sitting position, “Tao,” he calls for the younger one, “You…” Yifan reaches out and pulls Tao into a hug and tightens his arms around the younger one, “I will never forget you, you’re not just a nobody in this world, you’re a very important person to me,” he mutters against the younger one’s head. Tao lets out a breath of relief and hugs the older one back, “Promise gege?” he asks.

Yifan gives the younger a nod of his head, “Promise.”

Tao pulls away from Yifan and sticks out his pinky, “Pinky promise?”

Yifan glances down at Tao’s pinky and lets out a chuckle, “Promise,” he wraps his pinky around Tao’s, “I won’t forget about you.”

Tao smiles but the smile quickly fades away, “What’s the matter Tao,” Yifan asks, scrunching his eye brows together. Tao bites his bottom lip again and looks down at his lap, “What…what if you really do forget gege?” Yifan smiles at the younger one, pulls his finger out from Tao’s and unhooks the necklace from his neck, “Here,” he grabs Tao’s hand and places the necklace in the middle of the younger one’s palm, “this necklace of mine is a seal to our promise and…,” he looks up and straight into Tao’s pair of eyes, “if I ever break the promise, you have every right to beat the out of me.”

Tao chuckles and clutches the necklace in his hand, “I won’t beat you Yifan gege but…if you do forget one day, I will not hesitate to leave you.” Yifan gives the younger one a chuckle before wrapping his arms around the younger one once more for a hug, “You will never leave me Tao, because I will never forget you.”

Tao smiles into the embrace and shuts his eyes, enjoying the moment in Yifan’s arms.
