Choi Seunghyun’s POV

I waited for her but she never came back. Why was she taking so long? Did something happen to her? Lee Chaerin, are you okay? All of these questions were racing through my mind.

Before I knew it the sun had already begun to set. She didn’t come back, I thought to myself. I figured that she forgot or was in a rush to get home so I made my way towards the exit of the school in the hopes to catch up to her.

Sure enough a few steps in front of me there she was. I was going to shout out her name but something seemed off about her. It was as if she was in a dazed and confused state. I could see her slowly trudging forward struggling to kick her feet along the paved cement. It was obvious to me that she was not in her right mind of state; she didn’t even notice that I was walking behind her. I wondered what had happened. I slowly followed behind her until I saw that she got home safely.

 So that’s where she lives I thought to myself.                  

That night I tried to wrap my mind around what was going on in her head. Maybe my sudden appearance was too much of a shock for her. Maybe she didn’t have feelings for me anymore. I shook my head in denial and decided that I would go see her tomorrow, that I was going to ask her out on a date.

Come morning I decided that I would get her a present to make up for yesterday, so I rode my bike and made my way to the jewelry store. I happened to see a necklace with a rose pendant on the outer display window and thought it would make the perfect gift. I wonder if she still had the rose I gave her that day. It probably would’ve wilted by now, I frowned.

With the necklace in my pocket I hurriedly made my way towards Lee Chaerin on my bike.

When I got to the doorstep before ringing the doorbell, I hesitated for a moment. What if she didn’t want to see me? What if she was avoiding me? She didn’t even come back yesterday. I told myself.

After a few minutes however, I snapped out of it and figured it was at least worth a shot. I was no longer going to be a coward. I liked Lee Chaerin and I was determined to take her out on a date today.

I rang the doorbell and before I knew it there she was radiant as ever She wasn’t wearing anything special; she didn’t have any make-up on either but she was still the most beautiful thing I’ve laid eyes on today.

“Annyeong!” I shouted cheerily.

“What are you doing here?” she asked while looking away and avoiding eye contact.

I tried to ask her about yesterday but it seemed like she didn’t want to talk about it so I made the rash decision to pull her outside and proclaim that we were going to go on our first date. It didn’t look like she objected so I anxiously smiled inside.

We rode the bike through the neighborhood and made our way to the movie theater. When we got to our seats I decided that it was time to give her the necklace. I placed it around her neck and after doing so couldn’t help but notice her beautiful eyes.

She turned away however and avoided me again so I gently repositioned her face and continued to gaze into her eyes. Before I knew it a sudden urge had overcame me and my lips were positioned on hers. The moment felt like fireworks exploding in the movie theater. It was my first kiss and it was with Lee Chaerin, I couldn’t have been any happier.

We sat through the movie, smiling and blushing throughout like a pair of school children. After the movie ended we held hands and made our way towards the exit of the room. Nothing could ruin this moment I thought to myself.

Up ahead however was a familiar voice shouting at someone behind him.

“Hurry we’re going to miss the movie!” he yelled while frantically running towards us.

I felt Lee Chaerin’s body began to tense up, I could feel the sweat beginning to form on the palm of her hands.

At that moment I realized that the reason she never came back to me was because of him.
