Chapter 5

Kibum shuffled into the kitchen sleepily, hand in hand with Kevin, who was probably not even conscious yet. "Hey Dongho," he called, siiting down at the table and smiling at the maknae.

"Good morning Kibum hyung!" Dongho greeted cheerily, sliding food from the frying pan he was holding to two clean plates. "I'm making breakfast, do you and Kevin hyung want any?"

He can cook? Amazing...

Kevin gave a small shake of his head, Kibum got up to get their bowls from the cupboard. "Nope, it's okay, we'll have cereal."

"Alright." Dongho sat down opposite them, placing one plate before him and the other in front of the seat next to him. "Hyung, breakfast is ready!"

Kibum turned around from where he was standing at the fridge and pouring milk into his bowl. "I have cereal already, Dongho. Didn't I just say that?"

"I'm not talking to you, hyung. I'm talking to Soohyun hyung." Dongho seemed unaffected, as Kibum froze at his words. "Hyung, does it taste good?"

"Your cooking has improved, Dongho. I'm impressed!" Soohyun raised his eyebrows in surprise as he took a bite.

"Hey! It wasn't that bad before, okay!" Dongho protested, pouting and starting to eat.

"What the heck are you doing, Dongho?" Kibum demanded as he sat back down at the table, glaring suspisciously at the younger boy.

"Eating?" Dongho suggested innocently, before going back to his conversation with Soohyun. "Hyung, let's go watch a movie later! Manager hyung said that we have a free day today!"

"Who are you talking to?" Kibum asked. He had a major headache, and this wasn't helping it at all.

"Soohyun hyung," Dongho looked puzzled. "Can't you see him? Oh! Are you guys playing a game? Like, today is Invisible Soohyun hyung Day? I wanna play too!"

"Shin Dongho--" Kibum started, but Kevin grabbed his hand, stopping him from saying anything further.

"Let him be." Kevin murmured softly.

"Oh! Hyung, I just remembered, there's a repeat of Star King now, the episode with us on it! Let's go watch!" Dongho exclaimed excitedly, picking up their plates and hurrying out into living room and forgetting about his previous words.

"Kevin. WHAT is going on here? Does Xander hyung know about this?" Kibum asked sternly as soon as he heard the TV being switched on.

Kevin looked down, not meeting the older boy's eyes, knowing that Kibum's glare was being directed at him right now. "He's been like this for a while already... But I can't bear to tell him that he's just imagining things..."

They heard a laugh from the living room. "Hyung, you look so funny like that! I can't believe you actually agreed to do that performance with Young Ran noona..."

"Kev! Why didn't you tell me? I'm going to talk to Dongho right now..." Kibum stood up, but Kevin shook his head, pulling him back.

"Hyung! Don't! Let him play around for a while longer..." he said, almost pleading. 

"Why are you so... Aish. Fine." Kibum rolled his eyes. "You're too soft-hearted, Kevin."

I know you might think this of me, but you don't know everything. When you left Xing I was like that too. I understand how he feels. I understand that, sometimes, you just can't seem to move on...
