Chapter 3

The next day.

Dongho hummed to himself as he strolled out of school,through the underground tunnel that was a shortcut to their dorm. His bag hung off one shoulder and he trailed his fingers along the smooth wall unknowingly, lost in his own thoughts.

The day had gone past in a blur, and he hardly remembered anything from the lessons at all, just that he had gotten his test paper back. A C grade, which he had never gotten before, being a straight A student. Sighing, he bit his lip as he tried to think of a way to get someone to sign it for him.

"DONGHO!"

The said boy gave a little squeak of surprise as two people jumped on his back, nearly knocking down him to the ground. He turned to see Eli and Kiseop as his attackers, while Kevin was walking a little way back, smiling slightly.

"Yah! Hyung, you scared me!" Dongho frowned half-heartedly, rolling his eyes.

"Aish, Dongho ah. It was just a joke!" Kiseop patted him on the back. "We got our test papers back today, we're going to the amusement park to celebrate. Wanna come?"

"Anniya..."

Eli raised an eyebrow, laying the back of his hand against Dongho's forehead, moving down to the side of his neck. "You sure you're alright? The Dongho I know wouldn't turn down an invitation like that..."

"Stop it!" Instinctively, Dongho slapped the hand away. Looking down in shock at his own hand as he realised what he had done, before running off.

Only Soohyun hyung touches me like that. No one else...

Tears blurred his vision as he ran, vaguely hearing his hyung-deul's voices behind him, but he didn't stop, just continued running until he was out of breath. He crouched down in the alley he was in, gulping in air in huge breaths, a mixture of sweat and tears trickling down his face.

He missed Soohyun, missed his beautiful voice, his sweet kisses, his warm hugs.

All my fault, it's all my fault...

"Dongho."

The maknae's head shot up as he heard his name being called. That voice was so familiar, but it was impossible, Soohyun had died, he couldn't have been there...

"Dongho."

It was impossible, but there Soohyun was, walking towards Dongho. "Soohyun... Soohyun hyung?" he stammered.

"You shouldn't have hit Eli. He was just playing around, you know his character."

"But I don't like it," Dongho pouted as he hurriedly rubbed his tears away. So he hadn't been wrong after all. Everything had just been an awful joke.

"I know you don't, but he's still your hyung. Go back to the dorm and apologise to him." Soohyun frowned, reaching over and brushing stray strands of hair from Dongho's eyes. "There, you look better now. Not good for an idol like you to go around with that kind of messy hair."

"I don't wanna. Hyung, where have you been? Bring me out to eat something nice!"

"Dongho, stop it. Give your hyungs some respect." Soohyun scolded gently, before stretching out a hand to the younger boy. "There, up you go."

"Hyung! You're treating me like a kid!" Dongho murmured, though taking the hand and getting up. "Fine, I'll go back and apologise, kay?"

"That's my Dongho," Soohyun smiled, rubbing Dongho's shoulder affectionately.

Dongho started off in the direction of the dorm, slinging on his bag once more. "Hyung, you haven't answered me yet. The past week, where have you been? I-- Hyung?"

He was gone.

Dongho sat on his bed, deciding who to ask to sign his test paper (as well as pester about Soohyun).

Kiseop was too straightforward (in a bad way), Eli was too harsh, Kibum was too stern and Xander was just plain naggy. So he was left with Kevin. Fine, he would go ask Kevin, then.

He stepped out of the room, headed to Kibum and Kevin's shared room,silently prayed that they weren't doing any inappropriate stuff, before going in. To his relief, Kevin was alone, lying on his bed and reading while listening to music on his headphones.

"Kevin hyung?" he called.

The older boy looked up, seeming surprised that Dongho was there. He pulled the headphones off his ears, sitting up and smiling at Dongho. "Yeah, Dongho? Do you need help with your work?"

Dongho looked down at his feet, shuffling forwards to Kevin. "Hyung, don't tell anyone, kay?"

Kevin nodded, gesturing for him to continue.

"Um..." Dongho pulled his test paper from where he was holding it behind his back, shoving it into Kevin's hands. "CanyousignmytestbecauseIgotaCandmyparentsandtheotherhyungswillkillmeiftheyseeitsowillyouhelpmeplease??"he took a deep breath after saying this in one shot.

After scanning through the paper, Kevin looked back up at Dongho. "Okay, I'll sign it for you. But promise me that you'll study hard and get a better grade next time, okay?"

Dongho nodded enthusiastically, "I promise! Thank you so much hyung!"

A smile as the paper was returned to him. "No problem."

"Um, hyung, one more thing." Dongho added. "Today... I saw Soohyun hyung."

Kevin blinked, eyes wide open in shock. "What?"

"I. Saw. Soohyun. Hyung." Dongho repeated slowly. "This is just a joke, right? So when will he be coming back? I swear I won't tell the other hyungs that you told me."

"I'm... Not sure," Kevin lied, not wanting to disappoint the younger boy. "I'll tell you when I know, alright?"

"Yay! You're the best, hyung!" Dongho grinned, hugging Kevin tightly before bouncing out of the room.

Kevin just continued sitting there, still stunned, wondering what he had just gotten himself into.
