Chapter 17: Dinner, Party of Three

Kim Hye Ri's POV:

I closed the door to my apartment, careful not slam it and make Jiyong wake up.

Sighing I decide to make myself some tea.

Tea clears the mind they said...

Running my hands through my hair I think of all the way I could do this.

I could turn them in and they would die.

I could not turn them in and then they wouldn't die, but I surely would.

I would rot in that hell hole for all of eternity.

And I do NOT want that.

I worked so hard, so very hard to get this far and then this happens...

If only my father didn't have the resources, and wasn't so powerful.

Then I could hide Baro, Jiyong, and Jieun away. 

Somewhere my father would never be able to find them...

But that was impossible, my father had connections. He had the police, the politicions, and the whole damm government under his belt.

There was no stopping him, no freakin' way.

I was stuck.

I couldn't just turn Baro and his family in. If I did that it would show that I had no heart, I'd rather risk their lives then my own.

If I did that I'd be like him, like my father.

And I don't want that.

Suddenly I hear a light knocking on the door.

knock, knock, knock.

I quickly stand up, smoothing my shirt and hair down.

I look through the small peephole on the door and see Baro, waiting patiently at the door.

What does he want?

I open the door slightly.

"May I help you?" I ask, trying to sound calm.

"Uh yes, I was wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner?" Baro asks.

Wait...did he just ask me over for dinner?

I push open the door, and give him a look.

"What did you say?" I ask.

"Umm, well my sister hasn't seen you for a few days and she's starting to get a bit frantic. She's been asking for you. So I was just wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner." Baro says quickly.
