It's not that easy

Doll in the spotlight

When they stepped back into the auditorium, it was still just as hectically as before.
A couple of students bumped into them as they tried to maneuver their garments safely through the mob of people.
Junhong gazed through the room again, a little tingle of excitement setting to inhabit his belly as his mind tried to comprehend the busy atmosphere, the buzzing of voices echoing from the walls and rustling of fabrics in every corner.
Yongguk pushed him forward a little towards a small group of students.
Junhong stood close behind him as he greeted them, eavesdropping on their little small talk.
Some of the girls eyes lightened up noticeably as they looked at the graphic teacher and Junhong wondered for a moment what kind of teacher Bang Yongguk was to have the girls eyes sparkle at him with such admiration.
Seeing it from his perspective he imagined the other to be rather easy going during classes, patient and friendly, a little goofy at times but still committed to his job.
The elder wasn't exactly a bad looking person either, quite the contrary as Junhong had noted.
Especially when his big gummy smile invaded his face, how it reached up to his eyes, forming little crinkles around them, lips parting to reveal shiny white teeth.
Yes, Junhong had figured he liked that smile a lot; it had some kind of brightening effect to the others surroundings that fascinated him.
The girls giggled and Junhong looked from them to Yongguk and back, his handsome features indeed seemed to have an effect on those girls.

"May someone mind to inform me on what is going on here?" a sharp voice cut into the little conversation of the group.
The girls split up and dashed off into different directions almost immediately and Junhong in his bottom lip nervously.
Yongguk turned around, big gummy smile on his lips, not quiet reaching his eyes though.

"We were just discussing whether the girls needed another male model added to their line-ups." the elder said with a hint of awkwardness.

"And who would that model be?" the lady in front of them asked, flipping through a couple of sheets she held in her hand.
"He's just been added to the index." Yongguk replied and took a step to the side pointing at Junhong who immediately bowed in a perfect 90° angle.

"Is his hair supposed to be a joke?”  The design tutor questioned her voice sharp as a knife as she spoke.
Yongguk fought back the urge to roll his eyes at the lady, dressed in her fortune worthy Stella McCartney dress and 5 inch high heels.
Mrs. Komlova was a designer from Russia capable of speaking 6 different languages, Korean included and probably one of the snobbiest people he had ever met.
She eyed Junhong up and down who sensible tensed under her gaze.
His eyes were set onto his feet, bottom-lip being rolled in between his teeth as he nervously blinked a couple of times.
The woman in front of them raised an eyebrow at Yongguk who presented her with yet another of his gummy smiles.
“We’re planning to change that.” he stated and Junhong nodded eagerly.
“You are?” she said in an unfazed tone, not quite satisfied.
“Definitely.” Yongguk stated and without further consideration let his hand rise to ruffle the boy’s hair.
Junhong and Mrs. Komlova alike stared at him in confusion but Yongguk shook it off by dropping his hand and switching the topic swiftly.
Junhong triggered the part in him which he'd successfully kept hidden during most of the years he's been employed at the school.
A playful, cheeky side that fashion peopled didn't seem to be too fond of.
Thanks to Yongguk, Junhong was now officially added to the index and it was almost like he'd adopted himself a little brother whom he wanted to take care of.
His eyes travelled to the boy who nervously swayed forth and back on his heels he send him a reassuring smile, the palm of his hand softly tapping the boys lower back in a calming gesture.

“So how can we make ourselves useful?” He asked, his husky voice inhabited by a smooth, luring silkiness.
The tutor however seemed unfazed by his change of tone and eyed Junhong anew.
“How is he going to help?”  She asked oblivious to the fact she was degrading the boy in front of her with her obvious disapproval.
Yongguk forced a soft smile onto his face, teeth clenched together tightly to bite back his up building frustration.
He had known that his colleagues weren't to approve of Junhong easily however he couldn't find the necessity in stupid, patronizing comments.
Yongguk grabbed the woman by the shoulder, ushering her a few steps away from the boy he felt utterly sorry for.

If there was one person he hadn't wanted Junhong to encounter with on his first day as a model it was Mrs. Komlova.
As soon as they were out of ear reach he started to persuade her into letting Junhong participate.

It wasn’t hard to find reasons as to why Junhong had to stay.
After all they were at a shortage of male models because he had had to deny more than half of those who had applied and now the students were in a slump because they needed them.
It didn’t take long to convince the design tutor in charge to let Junhong participate, only for the fittings for now but Yongguk was sure he’d find a way to get this boy onto the runway.
He wasn’t even sure why he was so eager to see Junhong walk down that cursed stage, its purpose and use having yet to be revealed to him but he knew it meant a lot to Junhong for whatever odd reason.
About 10 minutes passed until Mrs. Komlova clenched her teeth and glared over at Junhong.
"Fine." she said and Yongguk couldn't help but grin over his eventual victory.
She kept talking, reminding him on how this was a big exception and such but the graphic teacher wasn't listening to her at all.
One of his hands travelled to his back, considering giving the younger boy a secret thumbs up but he dropped the thought along with his hand again.
Yongguk pressed his lips together, determined not to let a little more cheeky smile crawl onto his lips, he was having too much fun right now for his own good.
It had always been entertaining for him to bend the rules a little and to see how far he could get with it and for Junhongs sake he was going to bend a noteworthy amount of them.

Junhong there while stood once again lost in the huge auditorium, slowly staring to wonder if this was how his model being would proceed from now on.
Always being left to stand alone and clueless at some random spot until someone or more precisely Yongguk would come to fetch him.
A long dragged out exhale drew from his lungs when a deep voice next to him had him flinch in surprise.
His head shot in the voices direction to be presented with the face of the tall black-haired model he'd been eyeing before.
The boy looked at him with anticipation, obviously expecting him to answer to a question Junhong hadn't quiet caught.
"Excuse me?" he said and the boy cocked his head.
"I asked if you're busy right now. We're one man short over there." He pointed into the further corner of the auditorium where the short student from before was pacing up and down, nervously taping his thumb against his lips.
"Ah...I'm...I donno if I'm..." Junhong stuttered not quite sure how to respond but it was irrelevant anyways as the boy just grabbed him by the wrist, dragging him along into the corner.
Junhongs head swung back to look at Yongguk who was still involved in his conversation, as he was pulled towards the obviously frantic student.

"I caught one." the dark haired boy announced with a playful grin and the students head shot up in an instant.
"Thank god I got at least one reliable person with me." the boy muttered, a thankful glint in his eyes as he looked at the taller.
Junhong just stood there, eyebrows crinkled in a mixture of confusion and sheer panic.

The boy he'd admired only a couple of hours ago was now standing mere inches from him, eyes travelling up and down his figure.

"Nice hair." he commented in a dry tone making it impossible for Junhong to decipher whether the other was being honest or making fun of him until the semblance of a joyful smile flashed on his face.
Junhong nodded mumbling a quick -Thank you- but the boy had already turned back to his pile of garments.
He turned back to Junhong, scanning him once more before grabbing one of the hangers and holding it out to him.

"Here put that on." The boy ordered and Junhong took the garment, though still a little unsure whether he was allowed to just try on someone’s garments yet.
Then again he figured, he'd been added to the index, his measures had been taken and Yongguk had already said they were going to get him to put on some clothes.
He shrugged his shoulders and took the clothes off the hanger.
With a swift move the hoodie was pulled over his head to be replaced by a long oversized knit pullover.
The light colored material was so soft against his skin as he slid into the piece he vague wondered if he'd ever touched anything as soft and cozy before.
The piece was very oversized, the arms reaching way below his fingertips and hem ending almost mid-thigh, it felt almost as if he'd shrunk.
He was slipping out of his shoes when the call of his name stopped him in his actions.

Yongguk was standing next to the tall dark-haired boy, looking down at him still in the progress of removing his shoes.

"How did this happen?" he asked, an amused giggle following his words.
"Seunghyun caught him poshing up the scenery and bought him over."  The student commented, a playful tone swinging along in his voice.
The dark haired boy nodded in agreement.

"Isn't your line up set already Jiyong?" Yongguk questioned and the boy rolled his eyes.
"One of them got caught in traffic or something of that sort. He won't make it today."
Junhong looked up from the spot he'd crouched down to on the floor, eyes travelling from one to the other as he waited for them to pay attention to him again.
When none of them opted to pay him any notice he cleared his throat, his voice hinting more irritation than he'd intended to.
"Do I get dressed or not?" he asked and Yongguk couldn't help but snort at the sight of Junhong squatting on the floor in that huge fluffy wool shirt, pink lock disheveled on his head a little pout playing on his puffy lips
"Since he asked you to I guess you do." Yongguk answered with a smile curving on his lips.
Junhong nodded, starting to remove his shoes again.
He was rather thankful for the shirt being extremely long as he slid off his jeans to exchange them with a pair of dark grey skinny pants made of three different materials, of which he could only name leather as a definite component.

The student, whose name Junhong had caught to be Jiyong, sighed heavily.

"Too bad the pants don't really match well with your hair." he stated and Junhong looked down to his legs for a moment, eyes gazing upwards shortly after to glimpse at his pink locks and he couldn’t quite figure how grey and pink did not go together.
His gaze wandered to Yongguk who was looking at him with an amused expression.
The elder shrugged his shoulders when Junhong send him a quizzical look.

"Alright let’s take some quick pictures and then you'll be dismissed again." Jiyong announced and Junhong only nodded quickly before the boy quickly his heels walking towards the doors.
The taller one followed him with long quick steps and Junhong watched them for a second before setting himself into motion as well.

Yongguk walked at his side as they followed the two through the corridors.

"Are you having fun?" the elder questioned and Junhong looked at him, lips a little pouty as if he was debating with his answer.
"Yah I guess...it's just all kind of new to me." he said honestly and Yongguk nodded.

"It will get easier when you get used to the procedures." he tried to assure him, his hand moving to pat the younger boys shoulder in an encouraging gesture.
Junhongs gaze flickered over the hand resting on his shoulder and a tiny jolt of confidence shook through his body, accompanied by a delicate smile invading his lips.

"Will you tell me later?" Yongguk asked in an absent voice and Junhong eyed him with a little confusing in his eyes.
"Tell you what?" he asked.
Yongguk dropped his hand, shoving it into the pocket of his jeans as his eyes travelled to gaze out the window front instead of resting on the younger boy.
"Why you want to be a model." he said and Junhongs bit his bottom lip, taking a moment before replying.
"Maybe." he mumbled and Yongguk hummed in respond.

The room Jiyong lead them to had Junhong gasp in awe.
They arrived at a little photo studio, a huge window front to the left, an unplastered brick wall on the right, a pair of black club chairs were placed in the back corner along with a little table, magazines pilling up on it.
The wooden floor looked worn out, the parquet planks already bend out of shape at some parts and the ceiling appeared to be much higher than in the corridors with various equipment hanging form huge metal gantries.
In the center of the room was a big table with chairs, tons of photos and a couple magazines covering its surface.
On the other side of the room the floor changed from its wooden appearance into a plain white surface and the wall on that side was covered with a huge white board.

Only now, standing in the quiet room Junhong noticed the other model that had followed them to the shoot.
He wasn't sure how he'd managed to blend them out as it was a good hand full of them.
Six to be exact not including Seunghyun and himself.

"Ok to make this faster for you we'll shoot in pairs. Jaehyo and Seunghyun will go first." Jiyong announced and Junhong watched as one of the boys set into motion to join Seunghyun who was already standing on the white flooring.
The boy was tall, handsome in fact but the way he eyed him as he walked by send cold shivers down Junhongs spine.
He seemed to almost glare at him with a sense of hostility, a smug smirk flashing his lips before he directed his eyes towards the camera.

"Creepy..." Junhong mumbled quietly earning a chuckle from Yongguk who was standing right next to him.
"He's just trying to provoke you." the elder stated and Junhong furrowed.
"Why would he even..." the boy murmured to himself and Yongguk couldn't fight the amused grin from spreading on his lips.
"Competitiveness." Was the only reply Junhong got to that.

Meanwhile Jiyong had already started snapping pictures of the boys.
Once in a while he threw in some directions but mostly just kept the trigger pressed.
Junhongs eyes followed the boys every move, studied the way they fixed their eyes to the camera, speaking volumes without a single word passing their lips.
He was fascinated, to say the least.
With the little amount of direction they still managed to recreate their posture with every snap of the shutter, perfectly complementing each other’s movement.

"Ok got it." Jiyong said with satisfaction, clicking through the pictures on the little camera screen.

"Junhong and Minhyun next." the student announced eyes still fixed on the camera.
Junhong looked around the room to see a handsome brown haired boy with delicate slightly feminine features step forward.
He bowed to the boy who smiled back in return and Junhong cheered inwardly on the fact his shooting partner seemed to be a rather friendly person.
Yongguk gave him a thumbs up and Junhong took a deep breath.
He walked towards the photo scene, fingers nervously playing with the material of his pullover his eyes gazing over his shoulder once more to look at Yongguk who send him an encouraging smile.

"Good luck baby." the tall model who'd glared at him said in a bold tone and Junhongs eyes widened as he spun around to stare at the boy in disbelieve.
His eyes flickered over to Yongguk who had a pretty dumbfounded expression on his face, mouth agape and eyebrows crinkled.
Junhong huffed, biting the inside of his cheek to keep himself from replying with useless insults.
He averted his gaze and smiled at the boy next to him who shrugged his shoulders on the others behavior and returned his smile happily.

Yongguk watched as Junhongs posture straightened, his hands leaving the materials of his clothes alone.
His attitude shifted notably and Yongguk grinned to himself as he remembered the change in attitude Junhong had shown during the audition.
This was pretty much the same and he couldn't help but enjoy watching Junhong shift form his shy and cute self to a poised and charismatic personality.
Junhong looked at him, a fierce glint flashing in his brown orbs.
Junhong nodded as Jiyong told him to get ready, eyes glancing over at Jaehyo for a second and he pressed his lips into a thin line, eyes narrowing at the older boy.
His eye reflected so many emotions, Yongguk wondered if Junhong was even aware of it.
Rivalry did have great effects sometimes he reasoned, smiling to himself.

"Alright just be natural it's not a real shooting I just need impressions of the clothes." Jiyong explained and the two boys nodded.

The first couple of photos showed minimal variation in Junhongs posture and even Minhyun seemed a little reserved.
Jiyong sighed a couple of times and Yongguk knew exactly that -It's not a real shooting- was not a statement that went well with Jiyongs drive for perfection.

Radiating confidence and being able to convert it in front of the camera were two different things after all and Yongguk could tell Junhong was struggling to please Jiyong.
He could see Jaehyo smirking from the corners or his eyes and sighed, trying to figure a way to help Junhong without actually getting involved.
This was some kind of cockfight after all.

His eyes gazed though the room when he spotted a magazine close to the edge of the table he was leaning on.
He grabbed it and studied the cover; a handsome dark-haired boy was looking back at him, eyes harboring a fierce strength and confidence, the little smirk on his lips adding a slightly touch to the picture.
He shrugged his shoulders and cleared his throat; decided it was worth a try.
The little noise drew Junhongs attention for a moment, just like he'd planned and he raised the magazine a little higher, pretending to flip through the pages as he tapped his finger against the cover showing Kim Himchan in all his glory.

Junhongs attention on the camera wavered as he stared at the picture of his said brother.
His face froze for a second and he swallowed, drew a deep inhale of air to his lungs and turned back towards the camera.

Yongguk lowered the magazine and fixed his eyes on Junhong who suddenly seemed to beam with confidence.
He smirked into the camera, eyes narrowing to send a daring and sly gaze towards the lens.
His moves were casual but his body language and gaze exuded an aura of inviolable superiority building a tension between the camera and him.
Minhyun blend in with Junhong perfectly mimicking the boy’s movements and complementing them.
Yongguk watched them, the sound of the shutter like music in his ears as Jiyong barely paused it.

Junhong brushed the pad of his thumb along the line of his bottom lip, eyes set on the camera as he pulled the neckline of his pullover to reveal a good amount of his neckline and collarbone a seductive smirk playing on his lips.
Yongguk inhaled sharply at the provoking pose of his underage protégé and Jaehyo growled as Jiyong lowered the camera.

"Good work!" He exclaimed and nodded in affirmation.

Junhong rubbed his neck awkwardly and bowed to the student as well as Minhyun who patted his shoulder.
The boy walked back to Yongguk, leaning against the table next to him as Jiyong called out for the next models.

"Thank you..." he mumbled quietly and Yongguk smiled at him.
"Why? Did I do anything?" He asked innocently, softly chuckling as his hand ran through the boy’s hair, messing it up just a little.
Junhong smiled back at him brightly, eyes glistering with gratefulness.
His smile reached all the way up to his eyes, a small dimple forming on his cheek, nose wrinkling just slightly and Yongguk knew that instant that among all the expressions and poses Junhong was capable of showing, this one was his favorite.

(Note : wow I thought his chapter would be the shortest so far but turned out to be the longest...I'm sorry for all the cameos...I really donno whether to let idols appear as characters or use OCs....I do try to keep the cameos small though...)

Chapter 7: sorry kat, I was so tired yesterday that I stopped halfway through xD
So, I found 2 typos I think but I like it, I really like it :) I especially liked when they just sat on the floor and Zelo thought about what to tell the older about himself and what not :) that just gave ma a warm, friendly feeling!
I also like the hesitation that is between them, very realistic the build up! :)
