Chapter Six: Saying hello. [FINAL]

Really wanna say hello.

Luhan was contented. He was more than happy that Minseok started to like him as a person now. The older one even smiled to him time to time whenever he noticed Luhan was looking at him. After the soccer match, both of them felt a lot shyer around each other. If that was even possible for Luhan. But they liked being around each other, even if Luhan hardly talked. Minseok found it more comfortable now around Luhan.

Luhan got startled when someone suddenly sat next to him. He looked to his side and was surprised to say Yixing, or how he liked to be called, Lay. The two of them didn’t talk much to each other. They were both Chinese, but that didn’t really give them any reason to talk with each other. So it was weird for Yixing to sit next to him.

“Hey! Luhan, right?” Yixing greeted him.

“Hey, Yixing? Or you prefer Lay?” Luhan asked the other formally.

“Well, what you prefer.  ” Yixing was an easy-going person and Luhan quite liked the boy for being so easy to get along with even if they just met. “Let’s be friends.”

Luhan nodded in respond.

“Wow, you really only nod.” Yixing noted.

Luhan looked confused at him. “Huh?”

“Ge told me you only nod.”

“Who?”

“Minseok! Oh, I didn’t tell you? I’m Minseok’s neighbor and close friend!”

“Really?!” Luhan’s eyes suddenly brightened up. “Let’s be friends then too!”

“Sure. I  think we can get along really well!”

“Yeah, I think so too.” Luhan thought this was a great opportunity. He gained a new friend and a way to get even closer to Minseok.

“So Luhan, you have an eye on Minseok-ge, right?” Yixing asked Luhan mischievously. Only Yixing could ask something like that 5 seconds after he made friends with someone.

Luhan stared with wide eyes and open mouth. Okay maybe it wasn’t such a great idea after all. How could Lay just ask him such a question so straightforward?! Luhan was going crazy inside his head, while he looked blankly at Yixing from the outside.

“W-What are you talking a-about.” Luhan asked blankly, trying hard not to show any blush or whatsoever.

“I’m not stupid Luhan. You have a crush on Minseok, so don’t deny it!” Yixing laughed loudly as he saw the light tint slowly covering Luhan’s cheeks. “Admit it, and I will help you.”

“You will help me? Really?!” Luhan said so excited, that Yixing didn’t need any words anymore. Luhan was so crushing on Minseok.

Yixing wondered how he didn’t go blind already, so shiny that Luhan’s eyes shined.

“Yeah. This is the plan. I will arrange a date for you with Minseok.”

“”Y-You mean, M-Minseok and m-me. A-Alone?” Luhan said nervously, already imagining a lot of things in his mind. How nice it would be to go on a date with Minseok. No Jongin, no Kyungsoo, no Sehun, no Kris. Just him and his cute bun.

“Yes. I won’t tell him it’s you. I’ll just tell him it’s a blind date.” Luhan smiles from ear to ear. Luhan was too happy to see the mischievous look on Yixing’s face.

“Call!”

“It’s a call then!”

-.-.-.-

“Hey! Minseok-hyung!” Yixing called out when he saw his hyung walking out of his house, already changed from his uniform to more comfortable clothes. Minseok looked up from his mobile to see his neighbor.

“Yixing-ah. You just came back now from school?” Minseok asked when he saw the latter was still wearing his uniform.

“Yeah! Where are you going, hyung?” Yixing walked up to Minseok. When he saw his mom behind the window, he waved to her and pointed toward Minseok. She smiled and nodded her head and went on with what she was doing in the kitchen. Probably preparing for dinner.

“I’m going to buy groceries for my mom.”

“I’ll come with you.”

“Sure. Let’s go!”

The two walked in silence to the supermarket. Minseok seemed to glance to his hand phone from time to time and Yixing wondered what was so important. He glanced at the screen when Minseok took it out once again, only to unlock it, smile and lock it again.

“Was that-”

“You saw it?”

Yixing stared at Minseok surprised, as Minseok quickened his pace.

“Hey, what is that ab-”

“Look! The supermarket!” Minseok pointed to the building  as if it was the most interesting thing right now, trying to avoid Yixing.

“Was that background a photo of-”

“Oh, look!” Minseok pointed to nothing really.

“Hey! Don’t think you can avoid this! You want a date with him? I’ll help you!”

Minseok suddenly stopped in his track. “It wasn’t Luhan okay!” Minseok grumbled.

“Hahaha!” Yixing laughed out loud. “I never said anything about Luhan. So it was Luhan?”

“…” Minseok was speechless. “Shut up.”

“He wants to go on a date with you.” Yixing said out loud for Minseok to hear, since the older one was already at the store entrance.

“D-Don’t say weird things.” Minseok took a cart and avoided eye contact with Yixing.

The two walked around the store, getting everything they needed.

“This Saturday. ”

“I told yo-”

“Luhan wants to go on a date with you this Saturday. Are you going or not?”

“He really wants to go on a date? With me?” Minseok finally gave in. He thought of it  the whole trip in the store as Yixing kept trying to convince him.

Luhan did seem to like him a little bit, even if he tried to not get too much hope by telling himself it could never be true. It’s not like he liked Luhan or anything. Okay, maybe just a little bit. But Luhan was the most popular and prettiest boy at school. Why would he want to go on a date with Minseok, a normal, not really good-looking kid? Not only did Luhan have the looks, but also the personality. Luhan was cute and sweet. He was clumsy and shy. Minseok liked that about Luhan after he got to know him better. Luhan would be a great friend.

“I-I guess I can go then. I mean… I will go Saturday.”

“Really?! Don’t tell him anything okay? He is really shy about it. It’s  a call then! I’ll tell him right away!” Yixing exclaimed.

A date with Luhan…’ Minseok smiled slightly at the thought and a blush filled his cheeks.

 -.-.-.-

Minseok walked in the hallway all alone. He as thinking about what Yixing had asked him before. He still didn’t know if he should actually believe it or not. Why would Luhan not just ask him directly if he wanted a date?

His thought were interrupted when he heard a girl talk awfully fake cute. He looked up and saw the girl standing against lockers. He then noticed that the one she was talking to was no one other than Luhan. He was looking through his locker while listening to the girl. The girl was quite pretty, Minseok though, feeling slightly hurt.

“Luhan-oppa! You’re coming to my party this Saturday, right?” The girl said cutely and winked at Luhan. She put her hair behind her ear, trying to look extra pretty for Luhan.

“Yes, of course!” Luhan said excited, but deep inside he was thinking differently. He wasn’t really thinking when he said yes. He wasn’t planning on going, but she would get on his nerve if he would say no.

Minseok frowned when he heard Luhan’s answer and he felt a bit sad inside, but shrugged it off. Maybe he had just heard it wrong. Because Luhan was going to meet him… Right?

When he saw Luhan walking away and the girl following, he started to doubt the whole situation more. The girl talked happily with Luhan, and Luhan smiled at her.

Maybe… Yixing was just joking…’ He thought discouraged. Maybe Yixing was just joking with him and must have thought Minseok would never be so stupid to actually believe that the Luhan would want meet with him. It made Minseok confused. ‘No… Yixing wouldn’t do that… He would never joke about something like that.

He heard the bell ring, but ignored it. He was just too confused to go to the lesson. He didn’t know what to think now.

Was he too stupid to have believed that Luhan would actually want to hang out with someone like him? Minseok hit his head lightly. ‘Don’t think like that! Weren’t you the one to always tell Kyungsoo never to think like that?

Maybe I just heard wrong or something.

-.-.-.-

Luhan turned around for the umpth time already. He just couldn’t help but feel excited. It was Friday night, the night before his date with Minseok. He would finally be able to spend some quality time with his crush.

He turned around for the last time, before he sat up frustrated and looked at the clock.

“Why is it so early?! Can’t it be tomorrow already?” Luhan cried out to himself.

He decided he would just prepare for the next day since he wasn’t going to fall asleep any time soon anyway.

He opened his closet and took a couple of shirts, blazers and such out of it, trying them out in front of the mirror many times. He then tried some pants along with them. He sighed when he couldn’t find the perfect match.

Of course everything looked good on him, but he wasn’t contented with just good, he wanted to look great for his first date. No, even great was not good enough.

He put another shirt in front of him. ‘It has to be perfect.

After he finally decided what to wear, he looked in the mirror and stared at his own reflection.

He couldn’t help but imagine how they would meet. Would Minseok be happy? Would he greet him cutely or y? What would he wear? Would Minseok like what he himself was wearing? What if Minseok didn’t like it?!

Luhan was getting anxious as he thought about the date.

“Hey, Minseok! How are you?” Luhan waved at  his reflection. “Not… That’s no good.”

“Minseok-hyung. Did you wait long?” Luhan tried again. “But what if I arrive first?” Luhan sighed again.

He practiced some more, before giving up. As if it would help. Luhan had practiced many more times before to just say hello to Minseok, without any success.

He looked at the clock.

2AM.

He still didn’t feel tired thought.

“Maybe a shower will do.”

After taking a shower for the second time that day, Luhan returned to his bed and tried to sleep once again, but he once again gave up when he saw it was 3AM and he still didn’t feel any sleep. He his tv and decided to watch some TV-shows to fall asleep. He took some food from the kitchen and tidied his room, before returning to his bed to watch TV again.

He finally fell asleep at 6AM.

-.-.-.-

-the next morning-

Luhan woke up slowly and  stretched his arms before yawning loudly. He scratched his back before turning to the clock.

3PM.

Luhan’s eyes widened and he stressed so much that he fell of the bed.

“. . ! No it can’t be!”

It was 3PM. And he was supposed to meet Minseok at 1PM.

Luhan was about to cry when he fully realized how stupid he is. He quickly took his clothes and put them on as he walked clumsily to the hallway and into the bathroom to brush his clothes.

He cried out loudly when he wanted to call Minseok so badly, but he realized he never got the latter’s phone number. Minseok must have been gone already or he may think Luan stood him up and Luhan didn’t want that. He didn’t want it to end up like this.

He quickly rushed downstairs and ran the house out, without eating anything or greeting his parents.

-.-.-.-

Minseok walked along the road in the busy city. He looked around and noticed a clock that said 1:40, meaning he still had some time left before he would meet Luhan. He didn’t want Luhan to wait for him, so he decided to come a bit earlier so he could greet Luhan first.

He already saw the place he was supposed to meet Luhan and he sighed in relieve when he saw Luhan hadn’t arrived yet. What made him slightly nervous, since he couldn’t wait to see Luhan. He had no idea why he was suddenly so nervous, yet excited but he liked the feeling.

Before he walked on, he decided to check himself in the mirror.

He nodded at himself, as he though he actually looked quite good. He never really cared about how he dressed or how he looked like, but he still wanted to try it out for once, since he was going to meet with Luhan after all. He couldn’t just meet the school’s kingka while looking like a beggar or something, right?

He nervously changed his hair, but wasn’t contented with it, so he styled it back. ‘Maybe, this looks better after all.’ He thought as he tried different things with his hair. He sighed in defeat though when he still wasn’t contended. But it was okay, it was almost time anyway.

He finally walked to the place in the middle of the city, around a big fountain. He placed himself on a bench and started to play with his fingers to calm himself down. He looked around time to time to see if there was any sight of Luhan.

15 minutes already passed and it was the time they were supposed to meet. Minseok looked up from his phone and looked around to see if there was any sight already, but he didn’t see the deer like boy anywhere.

“Maybe he’s a bit late.” Minseok told himself, only trying to convince himself that Luhan was just late.

Another 15 minutes passed and there was still no Luhan. Minseok started to feel a bit insecure already and couldn’t help but look around some more. He just really hoped Luhan would come already so that he could calm himself down

“Luhan, where are you?”

More time passed and Minseok felt awful and more insecure than he had ever felt before in his life. He couldn’t believe he was waiting for Luhan so long. He saw couples meeting each other, laughing, kissing, hold hands. He watched how people rushed for their work or maybe they wanted to just hurry to their home. He saw little kids playing around, followed by their parents. He had seen everything already.

He looked at the time again.

2:50PM.

I can’t believe I waited for more than 2 hours.’  Minseok thought as he tried to hold back his tears.

A few raindrops fell, before it started raining for real. But Minseok was too lost in his thoughts to even notice it.

He couldn’t help but see himself as the biggest fool ever. He was stupid for waiting so long and thinking that Luhan would meet him here. Luhan had just played around with him and doesn’t even see him as a friend or anything more for sure.

‘Luhan would never like me.’

He got surprised by his own thought… Did he just admit he was hoping Luhan liked him? No that’s wrong. He could never fall for Luhan. Never. He couldn’t believe he still felt like that, even after he waited for so long and Luhan had actually stood him up. He didn’t want to be in love with someone like Luhan.

Minseok stayed for another 30 minutes on the same spot, even though he was already drenched from the rain. He felt pain. And honestly, he didn’t even know if he wasn’t already crying or if it was just the rain.

He finally stood up and walked away with heavy footsteps.

He just stared in front of him as the rain was falling on his body, but he didn’t care. His thoughts were filled with Luhan.

And the tears finally fell.

He sobbed as he thought he was even more stupid for not knowing until now how much he had wanted this. How much he wanted to go on this date with Luhan, just Luhan. And he was an idiot for not knowing he already fell hard for Luhan. He had fallen in love with an unreachable person and he was a fool for feeling like that and having waited for so long.

He felt once again dejected.

Never did he think that he would be hurt this much if he luhan just played with him.

He walked further away from the spot he had waited on for the past few hour as tears fell every step he took.

He heard footsteps, footsteps that were obviously running in the rain. He could hear the splashing water with every step the stranger took. ‘It must be nice… Having someone that would run for you like that.’ That girl must be lucky. At least she wouldn’t be left there for hours, all alone.

His thoughts were interrupted when he freaked out by a hand that took his wrist. The person had intertwined their hands together suddenly. Before Minseok could turn around to see who the stranger was he was pulled around and was surprised to feel a pair of warm, soft lips on his own.

He opened his eyes slightly. Reality hit him when he met the most beautiful view he ever saw.

Luhan looked so beautiful; his eyes closed softly, lips against Minseok’s own. Luhan’s free hand cupped Minseok’s cheek, making Minseok feel in heaven, closing his own eyes as he let Luhan deepen the kiss.

They kept kissing for a while without anyone saying a word. Minseok felt Luhan nib his lower lip softly, making him moan slightly and open his lips slowly for Luhan, letting the latter enter him willingly.

Luhan entered him instantly and explored the hot cavern delightful as his hand left Minseok’s hand and slit it around Minseok’s waist, pulling him closer to his own body. Luhan had dreamt so many times about this moment, but the never thought it would feel that amazing.

“I’m sorry.,,” Luhan whispered onto Minseok’s lips. “I overslept.”

Minseok chuckled, already forgetting how awful he had felt and how long he had waited and how cold he was.

“It’s okay.”

“Minseok…”

“Yeah…”

“T-there is t-this thing, that I-I wanted to tell you.”

“Yeah? What is it?” Minseok said teasingly.

“I-” Luhan separated from Minseok, but not too far. A shy smile formed on his lips and a blush spread his cheeks. He was finally going to say it. After all this time, he knew he could do it.

“Yes?” Minseok said hopefully.

“H-H-Hello…”

Minseok started to laugh out loud. Luhan was just way too cute like that. How could he think  bad about Luhan before? Luhan  was the cutest thing ever. He felt just slightly disappointed, because he hoped that Luhan would ask him out or something.

“Hello, Luhan.”  Minseok grinned happily as he pecked Luhan’s lips quickly.

Luhan wanted to hit Minseok. It was already so hard for him and Minseok kissing him utterly cutely wasn’t really helping him.

“W-W-Will y-you- I mean- like- boyfriend- you- me- date?” Luhan hid his face in his hands in embarrassment. He was embarrassed about how he asked Minseok out. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. In his fantasies it sounded  so cool when he confessed to Minseok.

So confident that he seemed when he kissed Minseok and held him in his arms, so shy and cute he looked right now, when he finally said hello. And not only that, he even asked Minseok out. Well, if you can count that as asking someone out.

“Depends…” Minseok acted as if he was thinking deeply and actually was considering to say no.

“W-What?” Luhan confused. Getting rejected by his one and only love was the last thing he wanted to happen.

“Depends on how loud you will cheer for me in my next game.” Minseok chuckled before kissing his now-boyfriend full on the lips.
