Chapter 1

~ at the airport ~

Your POV

“Umma, I'll be OK. Don't worry too much about me. I still have oppa.” I said.

“But why do you have to leave when you just turned 18, ____-ah?” my mother started to cry.

“I want to go back to where I used to play around and have fun. And I want to find Doojoon who was my only friend in Korea. I promised him...”

“But you don't know where to find him.”

“We will live in our old house.”

“*sniff* OK. But call us when you arrive at Korea.”

“OK.”

“And you.” she turned to Junki “When she calls me and tells that you don't take care of her I will personally come and scold you!”

I giggled.

“Arasseo. We have to go now. Bye!” Junki said.

“Bye, Umma. Bye, Appa.” I said and hugged them the last time.

“Kaja, ____-ah.” he held my wrist and dragged me with him.

Doojoon, I'm coming.

* Flashback *

~ 10 years ago ~

Me and Doojoon were neighbors so we often visited each other. This time we sat at the bench in our garden and stared at the sky.

“Doojoon oppa?” I turned to face him.

“What?” he asked still starring at the sky.

“I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” he turned to me and smiled.Will she confess to me?

“In 1 month I will move to America.” I looked at him. His smile faded.

“You will leave me?” he asked. I just nodded and stared at the ground. Is he angry?

“Doojoon oppa, before I leave I want to tell you something. I lo-”before I could say anything he left me.

“I love you. Since the day you wanted to be friends with me.” I whispered to myself without him hearing me. I just sat there and began to cry. Why is he angry at me? I didn't do anything wrong.

As I sat there it started to rain. Seems like the rain knows how I feel. Weeks passed and he didn't speak to me. At school he totally ignored me. Every time I would see him he just turned coldly away. He didn't walk me home anymore. Everyday I would come home and cry and ask myself why he is like that.

When my family and Doojoon's family were at the airport to bid farewell, Doojoon stood in front of me. He took some steps to me and he stood right in front of me. Tears started to form in my eyes.

“____-ah...” My tears started to fall. Suddenly he pulled me into a hug. I felt warm and safe. I wish that he would never let me go.

“____-ah. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for ignoring you and making you cry. I just didn't believe that you would leave me.” He let go of me and wiped my tears away.

“Promise me that when you are grown up you will visit me. I will always wait for you. Promise?” he held his pinky finger in front of my face. I smiled.

“I promise.” And so we made a promise which I will never break.

* End of Flashback *
