Chapter 8: A happy weekend

KUNG TAYO'Y MAGKAKALAYO (saga continues)

Gwen and Robbie were both excited to spend the whole weekend together with baby Elise, they will go to church and after that, to the mall. Elise will be celebrating her first birthday two months from now that is why Robbie and Gwen really prepare for it this soon. They will look for a venue after the mass, Robbie want it to be held in a restaurant while Gwen suggests it in a small function room.

“Ano bang gusto mo?”

“Syempre yung favorite nya, si Barney. Di ba baby?” Gwen turns to Elise.

As early as 9 months, Elise started to coo, she can say ‘mama’ and ‘dada’ already, and some other baby words. Gwen is very much particular in listing down Elise’s development, from the day she say a word, first time she walked without any accompaniment, and so on and so forth.

Gwen sighed.

Robbie rested his arms at Gwen’s shoulders while she pushes Elise’s stroller.

They decided to eat in a Japanese resto, Elise is pretty sitting on a high chair while her parents enjoy the sumptuous food. Robbie mashed the potato and feed her.

Elise is a very healthy baby, except that she inherited her mom’s history of asthma, as early as 6 months, she already uses nebulizer to ease her breathing. But the good thing is that Robbie and Gwen monitors it everytime.

After lunch.

Gwen picked out 6 pairs of shirt and shorts, 2 pairs of pajamas, 1 pink lovely dress that matches a white elegant shoe with lace, a walking slipper, wash cloths and a hat all from Gingersnaps which cost 4,400 all in all. Before they proceed to the counter, “Gwen ang dami naman yata nyan.”

While Gwen pays for the clothes, Robbie shook his head in disappointment, “Ang mommy mo, bibili pa pala ng gatas kung ano anong inuuna.”

“Oh ikaw mommy, anong gusto mong bilhin?” Robbie asked.

Robbie remembered how luxurious Gwen’s life is before they got married, she spends 10 thousand bucks for a weekly shopping courtesy of her Daddy Frank, but now, she buys things only for her baby, so Robbie decided to lead her at the jewelry shop.

“Ano namang ginagawa natin dito?” Gwen says hastily.

“Siguro magbebenta ng alahas.” He smiles.

“Pilosopo ka talaga.” Gwen tickled his ears like she used to.

“Ano bang gusto mo dito?”

Robbie insisted to put the necklace on her neck, “Bagay na bagay sayo.” He smiled and gave her a smack on the lips.

“Kukunin ko na ito. Pwede ba ang cheke?” he kids.

Gwen scratched her head.

I love you Gwen.”

She had nothing to do but to accept his gift, she feels so lucky to have a husband like Robbie, despite the difficult times of their marriage, they still manage to carry things on and have time for each other.

“Ganyan kita kamahal, Gwen. Araw araw lalo kita minamahal.”
