The guests were gone and it is almost 1 in the morning, the newly baptized baby girl is sleeping on her crib. Everybody enjoyed the celebration, Celine did the cooking from the main dish up to the dessert, Steve took charge of the chairs and table rentals, Mamapet bought the beautiful pink cake with pink baby booties on top while Gwen and Robbie took hold of the venue and Elise’s baptismal dress. About 50 visitors shared the moment with them some of them from the NBI and Gwen’s officemates.

“Nakakapagod pala mag organize ng celebration.” Gwen says while lying on Robbie’s shoulder.

“Talagang nakakapagod, buti nga tinulungan tyo nila mommy eh, at least medyo gumaan.”

“Sya nga pala, babalik ka na sa trabaho bukas diba? Nakalimutan kong plantsahin yung uniform mo, naku. Sandali lang ah.” Gwen ran out the room and looked for Robbie’s clothes.

“Gwen.” Robbie followed her. “Bukas na lang yan, gigising ako ng maaga.”

“Hindi na Robbie, kaya ko na to, dalawa lang naman eh, sige na bumalik ka na dun, mabilis lang to.”

Robbie kissed her forehead and went back to bed.

The next morning, Robbie headed to the kitchen and saw Gwen cooking their breakfast, Elise is lying in her crib with Nanna Luz’s eyes on her. “Good morning, princess.” He lowered himself to give the baby a kiss.

“Good morning yaya.” He walks near Gwen, embraced her from behind and gave her a sweet kiss on her cheeks. “Good morning sa pinakamasipag na misis sa buong mundo.”

Gwen faced him and smiled. “Oh ito nang kape mo, kain na.”

They had breakfast together, after a few minutes, Gwen picked Elise to give her a bath. “Mag-ayos ka na Robbie, saglit lang ito tapos magbibihis na ako.”

Robbie stares at Gwen, thinking how dedicated his wife is, she makes sure that Elise has everything she needs before she goes out for work. Everyday, before going to her office, Gwen pumps milk from her as many as she could and put it in the feeding bottles and stores inside the fridge. In a day, Elise consumes 4-5 bottles, except when mommy Gwen is home, she feeds directly to her s.

After bathing, Gwen dresses herself and gets ready for work. “Ready ka na? Tara na baka malate tayo.”

“Yaya, pag may problema, tumawag lang kyo ah. Bye princess, daddy loves you.”

Gwen carried Elise. “Bye baby.” And gave her a kiss before giving her to yaya. “Nanay, wag mo pabayaan si Elise ah, paki-lock po maigi ang pinto, baka po dumating si mommy sabi nya kasi kahapon dadaan daw sila anytime.”

“Sige akong bahala, wag nyo intindihin. Mag-iingat kayo ha.”

After sending Gwen at the office Robbie rushed his way to the NBI, lots of works are waiting for him, he was out for a couple of months, he needs to cope rapidly.

“Welcome back Robbie, ready ka na ba talaga mag trabaho ulit?” Mat says.

“Opo boss Mat, ayaw ko man iwan sa yaya ang anak ko, kailangan na eh.”

“Oh sya sige, may ipapahawak ako sa iyong kaso. Drug syndicate, hindi kalakihan pero matinik. Nakapag raid na kami last week sa Binondo, at babae ang leader nila doon ayon sa nahuli naming suspek, may ibang nakatakas kaya mainit ang mata natin doon, alam kong kaya kaya mo itong task force ‘Binondo Girl’ kaya sa’yo ko iaaasa.”

“Gusto kong Makita ang iba pang files para mapag aralan ko, akong bahala dito boss Mat, yari sakin ang Binondo Girl na iyan.”

Few hours later, Robbie ringed Gwen. “Kumain ka na?”

“Ngayon pa lang, ikaw? Kamusta dyan?”

“Maya maya, intayin ko lang si tatay. Maayos naman, back to normal, may kaso akong hawak agad agad.”

“Ah ganon ba, basta mag iingat ka ah, naku, yung bilin ko sabi ko sa’yo wag masyadong matapang.”

“Gwen hayan ka na naman eh, ano ka ba wag ka nga paranoid dyan. Trust me. Ako pa.”

“Naku, kayabangan mo na naman, pag may nangayari sayo, bahala ka.”

“Wag ka magalala, walang mangyayare sakin.”

“Asus, oh sige na nga, kumain ka na ah.”

“Ui Gwen, balita ko ikaw napupusuan ni boss na ipalit sa pwesto ni Ate Leah ah.”

“Talaga? Naku pag nagkataon 10% yung increase ko, anu? Sana nga.”

“Eh papayag ba ang asawa mo dyan?”

“Bakit naman hindi, eh makakatulong yun samin.”

“Alam mo kasi Gwen, sa magasawa, kapag si misis umaangat, tapos si mister hindi, dun nag kakaroon ng tension. Insecurities sa madaling sabi. Hay bata ka pa nga, hindi mo pa alam ang mga ganoong bagay.”

“Marami rin naming achievements sa NBI si Robbie eh, top nga sya lagi.”

“Ibig ko sabihin Gwen, pag pera ang usapan. Syempre aminin naman natin, hindi kalakihan ang sahod sa NBI, tapos malalaman ni Robbie, ikaw yumayaman ka on your own.”

“I’m sure naman hindi gagawing big deal ni Robbie yun, saka hindi naman kami nagbibilangan eh, kung ano yung akin, kanya rin.”

Cathy saw Gwen counting the money from her purse. “Oh short ka?”

“Hindi, binukod ko lang tong pangbili ng diaper at milk mamaya bago ko umuwi.”

“Ikaw ang bumibili ng gatas at lampin ng anak mo?”

“Eh anu namang masama dun?”

“Wala naman. Eh di ba dapat si Robbie.”

“May pera pa naman ako eh, hindi naman issue yun, sya naman ang bumibili ng gamit ng baby.”

“Okay, sabi mo eh. Nagtatanong lang naman ako.” She smiles.

“Robbie daan tyo sa drugstore, last can na kasi ng gatas ni Elise eh, bibili lang ako.”

They both get off the car, Robbie lend her money, “Meron pa naman ako dito, itabi mo na lang yan.”

“Hindi na Gwen, ano ka ba. Sige na kunin mo ito.”

To avoid issues, Gwen accepted the money.

“Sa weekend, pag ka sueldo ko, mag grocery ka para may laman yung pantry. Tapos ibili natin si Elise ng bagong damit.”

Gwen just smiled and resumed buying.

They are finally home and Elise is still awake. “Magbihis muna, baka magka germs ang baby galing kayo sa labas, nagluto na ako nakahanda na ang mesa bilisan nyo at lalamig ang sabaw.” Yaya says.

Gwen heard Elise crying so she hurried changing her clothes, “Sunod ka na Robbie ah, una na ko.” She went downstairs, reached the baby from Luz and tried to stop her crying.

Elise couldn’t stop, Gwen did everything, Robbie went down and say, “Bakit umiiyak yan? Anong problema ng baby girl ko?”

The 5 month old Elise stopped for awhile and roamed her eyes as though looking out for the voice she just heard, but finding no one, she cried again.

Robbie carried her and say, “Namiss ba ako ni Elise? Oh tahan na nandito na si daddy.”

Elise amazingly stopped from crying, Gwen caressed her head and kissed her. “Ikaw lang pala hinahanap eh. Inggit naman si mommy baby.”

After a few minutes the baby fell asleep, he laid her down the crib and they dine together.
