Chapter 8: Payback

It was now lunch time and Hyunseung had successfully avoided Junhyung all day. He knew that it wouldn’t last much longer since they had class together right after lunch and then they had to stay after. Even so, he wanted to avoid the younger male at all costs. ‘Maybe he forgot about what happened and won’t say anything to me…Aish, who am I kidding…I’m so dead.’ Hyunseung sighed as he played with the crackers that were in front of him. He froze instantly however when he felt someone’s presence behind him. Very slowly he turned his head to look over his shoulder. He was greeted with a sight of Junhyung smirking with the other members of BEAST standing directly behind him sharing the same smirk.

“Hey there . Your pimp ed you too hard? That why you missed school so many days?” Junhyung glared at the boy in front of him while the other members of BEAST laughed. ‘Finally. I’ll get you for that punch you face.’

Hyunseung ignored the comment, lowering his head, hoping the other boys would just leave him alone. Luck wasn’t on his side. Junhyung reached forward, ripping the older boys head back by his hair, pulling a whimper from the boy’s throat. “I thought I told you to look at me when I’m talking to you.” The auburn haired boy said dangerously.

Gikwang pulled his lip into his mouth, biting it as he watched the scene unfold in front of him. He had been so worried about the boy while he was gone. He didn’t know what happened to him and was worried that he was in danger. He was relieved that he was back at school but now he almost wished that he had stayed away so he wouldn’t be tortured by his friend.

“Let’s go have a chat.” Junhyung said as he pulled the boy out of his chair and dragged him out of the cafeteria, the other members following them. Hyunseung groaned as he was thrown into a wall of one of the many bathrooms. He fell to the floor as he was surrounded. He looked up to see that the door had been locked. He knew what was coming. He knew he was going to get punished for the punch he had given the younger male. The bruise was still there on his eye as proof.

“Did you really think I’d let this slide?” Junhyung said as he landed a kick in Hyunseung’s ribs. The younger boy knelt down, taking hold of the other boy’s hair, forcing him to look at him once again. His other hand reached up and pointed to the bruise surrounding his eye. “This was a big mistake on your part. Though, I was getting kinda bored with you never responding. It was a surprise to see that you can actually punch.” He smirked as he smashed the other boy’s head into the floor. He then stood up and took a few steps back. “Get him.”

With that, Doojoon, Dongwoon, and Yoseob all took turned kicking the boy ruthlessly. They laughed joyously as blood came spurting out of his mouth. Gikwang flinched as he tasted blood. He had bit his lip so hard that he broke the skin. After taking care of the dark haired boy last time, it had become even more difficult to watch the boy get hurt. He wanted to make the others stop so badly, but he was scared. He was scared to go back to being the outcast.

Hyunseung curled in on himself. These kicks hurt more than they normally did after taking a break from it all when he went home. All he could taste was blood and he was seeing spots. He knew that he was going to pass out soon. He just hoped that he would still be able to walk home afterwards. He looked up once more and his eyes connected with the short haired boy standing by the door. He watched as he flinched violently and the eye contact and looked away shamefully. The dark haired boy laughed humorlessly at that. ‘That coward.’ And with that, he welcomed the darkness.

Hyunseung groaned as he woke up in the nurse’s office. He was too used to this. How many times had he woken up here? ‘Too many to count.’ The nurses didn’t even question him anymore. They knew what was happening to him but they still refused to do anything about it. Sighing he turned his head to look at the clock. ‘Well at least I didn’t sleep through into the evening again…but this means I have to go meet Junhyung…’

It was about halfway through last hour, meaning that it was almost time for Hyunseung to go meet the younger male to work on their project. Since he had missed several days of school, he knew that he couldn’t skip out on it. He sighed once again as he lay in the bed for ten more minutes before deciding to stand up. It was going to take him some time to get to the room they were meeting in and he wanted to avoid other students.

Hyunseung’s body screamed as he forced his way off of the bed. His left arm would not move and his right leg was tingling, but he managed to stand up. Limping his way out of the room, he used the wall as support as he made his way towards his locker. He had almost made it there, but while rounding a corner, his body collided with another body, pushing him back to the floor as he hissed in pain. He squeezed his eyes closed while he waited for the waves of pain to pass. He flinched once again when he felt someone place one hand on his left arm and the other on his back. He forced his eyes open to see Gikwang kneeling next to him with a worried expression on his face.

“Are you alright, Hyunseung-sshi?” the younger male asked worriedly. “Here, let me help.” He started to lift the boy but stopped when he screamed out. He quickly let go of him and frowned.

“Just leave me alone.” Hyunseung said after the pain had passed. He knew that his arm had to be broken. He sat on the floor for a few more moments before attempting to stand up. He used his right arm to push off the floor and forced his legs underneath him. As soon as he was in an upright position however, his right leg gave out and he started falling once again. He closed his eyes, anticipating the crash landing but he was stopped midair.

Gikwang watched as the older male tried standing up. He mentally yelled at himself for not stopping the others sooner. Seeing the boy falling once again he reacted quickly, sliding his arm around the boy’s waist and pulling him to his chest. His heart raced at the closeness and a blush stained his cheeks. He enjoyed the closeness for a few short moments, inhaling the other boy’s scent before he was pushed back.

“I told you to leave me the hell alone!” the dark haired boy glared and he leaned against the wall. He then continued his way to his locker. He tried to walk fast enough to lose the other male who decided to take it upon himself to follow him but there was no way he’d be able to with all of his injuries.

“Just let me help you this one time.” Gikwang said as he watched the male stumble for the umpteenth time. ‘Just let me help you…please…I need to make up for being a coward somehow…’

“Just get the hell away from me! I want nothing to do with you!” came his reply. He had finally made it to his locker. Hyunseung leaned against the adjacent lockers as he put in his combination. Once he got it open he struggled to gather the supplies that he was going to need. He only had one arm that he could use and it was incredibly difficult to carry several books and other supplies.

Gikwang watched as Hyunseung struggled with his books. Sighing lightly he walked forward and grabbed the books out of his arm and put them in Hyunseung’s backpack before sliding it onto his shoulder. The older male turned to him with a glare and was about to yell at him again but instead let out a squeak as he was lifted off the ground.

Gikwang slammed the other boy’s locker shut as he lifted him off the floor and carried him bridal style. ‘If he’s not going to let me help him then I’m not going to give him the choice.’ He cradled the other boy lightly, trying to not injure him further and ignoring the complaints coming from him.

Hyunseung kept yelling at the younger boy to put him down and hitting his chest with his good arm but he was too weak. There was nothing he could do. Finally he just gave up fighting him and sat in his arms pouting.

A slight smile formed on Gikwang’s face when Hyunseung stopped fighting and it took everything in him to not stare at the boy’s pout. His deliciously plump lips were puffed out even farther just testing the male’s self control. He forced himself to look straight ahead as he walked to the room where he knew Junhyung would be meeting the other male for their work. He just hoped that the boy in his arms wouldn’t notice how fast his heart was beating.

They were finally at the room they were meeting in and Hyunseung couldn’t be more thrilled to be get out of the other male’s arms. He just couldn’t relax in the arms of a guy who was friends with his worst nightmare. He watched as Gikwang skillfully opened the door without putting him down and walked into the room.

“What the hell is this!?” They both froze as they heard someone say. They both turned their heads very slowly to see Junhyung already sitting in his chair, glaring intently at them.
