What's wrong?" He continued, letting go of her hand as he faced her direction.

Krystal sighed, turning her body towards his direction. The tension in between them was too awkward, which made neither of them talk. Sighing once more, Krystal cleared ready to answer back but was suddenly stopped by loud cheers coming from the hall.

"It's the countdown" he murmured, staring deep into Krystal's eyes. Krystal stared at the grand clock and was surprised to see the clock just seconds away from striking midnight.

The adrenaline in her body rushed, as the countdown begun. This was it. Krystal was finally going to reveal herself to him and he was finally going to reveal himself to her. It was up to the final 5 seconds and the two slowly begun to reach up to their mask.

"Three" He quietly murmured.

"Two" She faintly whispered.

"One"..... He took off his mask. But she didn't.

Krystal froze. The man who she thought she'd fallen for was, Kai. With her hand still clenching onto the ends of her mask, Krystal stepped back realizing a tint of sadness shown on his face.

"Why can't I see your face?" He said, a hint of distress clearly heard.

A small pang hit Krystal's heart. A side of her wanted to reveal her true identity while the other was too scared and nervous. What was she going to do?
By then, a guy clearing his throat was heard from a distance making the two turn around. Hand in hand, stood Jieun and Kris happily smiling to themselves. Though, that was Kai's least priority at the moment but suddenly, a thought escaped out of him. If Kris was with Jieun, could the girl standing infront of him be Sulli or maybe Krystal considering that the three entered the hall together?

Quickly turning around, she was gone. And by then, Kai knew it was Krystal.

Hot, fresh tears rushed down her face as she struggled to escape out of the hall. Dragging her long, silky dress with her, Krystal ran making her way towards the entrance of the hall. She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. She wanted to get out.

With her hands trembling from anxiety, Krystal dug into her purse dialing the number she needed the most. Her sister.

"Yoboseyo?' said the caller over the line. Krystal couldn't speak but rather just cry making the caller over the line understand.

"Hang in there. We'll pick you up" Jessica said in a rather quick tone before hanging up.

Less than 3 minutes had past, and a black, sleek car pulled over infront of Krystal. It was Donghae, Jessica's boyfriend.

"Jessica's waiting for you, it's okay" He said assuring her, helping her into the car.

Just then, a pair of footsteps were heard from behind, making Krystal come to a halt.

"Wait!" It was Kai's voice. Krystal couldn't take it anymore longer. She wanted to get out. Ignoring his presence she entered the car.

He watched as the black car slowly made it's way towards the exit making him curse out loud to himself. Stressed and obviously hurt and angry, Kai kicked an imaginary rock only to realize an object laying on the ground. It was a mask. Her mask.

She cried and cried until she no longer couldn't take it anymore. With her head rested on Jessica's lap, a final tear drooped down her cheek as she remembered Kai's face and how hurt he was when she left. Truthfully, it may seem like she was overacting but for Krystal it was different. She was a teenage girl who was trapped in the game of love. She was confused. She was lost. It was the last thing, she'd least expect. She didn't want to fall for Kai. She didn't plan to. But what could she do?

The five were quietly sitting down in the girl's dorm still wearing their formal attire. The Masquerade ball had ended and the rest of the students departed in their own ways. Baekhyun, Sehun & Luhan decided to hit the sack while Chanyeol, Kai and Kris were discussing about the issue in the girls' dorms, regarding Krystal. It appears that Jieun and Kris are now officially marked in a relationship while Sulli and Chanyeol are slowly getting to know each other.

Loosening his tie & pulling up the sleeves of his dress shirt (omg fangirling), Kai sighed to himself thinking about the encounter with Krystal and how it could've ended well without her leaving.

"Hang in there man. Hang in there" Kris remarked, his head leaning on Jieun's lap. 

"I'm so en confused!" Kai hissed, sending Sulli and Chanyeol gasping from surprise.

"Language man were in a girl's dorm!" Chanyeol barked, his head turning towards Sulli with a smile plastered onto his face.

Silence filled the air, as they all stood in deep remorse for Kai & Krystal. Kai stood up, making his way towards the window, where the midnight moon shone and the stars twinkled brightly.

"Guys" He paused. By then all stares were now on Kai.

Breathing heavily he sighed once more before closing his eyes.

"You got to help me out here, okay?" He murmured, sending the room confused.

"I like Krystal and I would do whatever it takes to have her mine. Okay?"

*gasp*
