Chapter 9 – Clues

No one’s POV

It was 11:30 pm and everyone was sitting on the floor of the mansion’s living room. They had all gathered the clues they had found. Some of the things they had collected didn’t even look important but they decided to collect it anyway. The clues were placed on the floor and they all sat in a circle around it. They managed to find a candle and decided to light it. Luckily, Ryeowook had a lighter that he didn’t even know he had in his pocket the whole time.

“Why are there so many envelopes that look the same?” Onew asked, curious to know why Jonghyun and Key brought the envelopes with them. “Well, I don’t know really. Maybe because it looks interesting…” Jonghyun answered, not really knowing the real answer to the question. “Anyway, what should we look at first?” Leeteuk asked impatiently. “Well, we should talk about what we found and who found it. Why don’t we?” Donghae suggested. Everyone nodded in agreement. “Anyway, I think that Jonghyun and Key found most of the things. What did you guys collect?” Leeteuk asked Jonghyun and Key. “I found a birth certificate, this envelope with a love heart and this box.” Key said as he gathered up the things he had collected. “I found three other envelopes like the one Key had found and I also found a locket and a photo album.” Jonghyun announced as he also gathered the items he had just mentioned. “Leeteuk and I found this old piano book.” Onew said as he held up a dusty piano book. “I found this envelope.” Donghae held up a different looking envelope he had found. “I found another one of those love heart envelopes and Kyuhyun did too as well.” Yesung announced holding up two similar envelopes. “Minho hyung found a folder that seems to have personal stuff in it and, guess what I found?” Taemin challenged, hiding the diary behind his back. “Just tell us.” Jonghyun ordered. “Fine, but that’s no fun though.” Taemin said pouting. “It’s… a DIARY!” Taemin revealed the hidden diary as everyone gasped. “Cool! Who knows what might be written there and… hang on Taemin. Do you have the key to that?” Onew asked hoping for the best. Taemin’s gaze fell to the ground. “No…” Taemin said with a frown forming on his face. “Cheer up Taeminnie. Maybe one of us found the diary’s key without even knowing it.” Minho tried to cheer him up. “Actually, there is a skeleton key and a ring in this box.” Key held up the box he had found in the writing desk. “Maybe it’s the key to the diary.” Key announced. “Taemin’s face lit up. “Let’s try opening it now!” Taemin said, reaching for the box that the key was kept in.
