Piece 021: Stumbled
Jigsaw
I folded the thin paper and slipped it inside the envelope in outermost agony. It’s the order from the court to not get close to L Kim and the Kim Company but somehow, I couldn’t accept all of this scorns and insults. Molested and fired just like that, how unfair for me to be treated so and that thought made me felt all restless.
I knew it happened a few weeks ago but I still couldn’t let it go just like that.
His face and words, I still remembered him. He’s someone from my past and I just needed to ask him for a reason and also for my silver ring, my most precious belonging which I was a hundred percent sure that it’s in his possession. My nights became sleepless without it. Did he hate me that much? What did I do to him in the past?
Su..zy? He kept calling that name. What’s up with that? Let’s talk, L Kim but why won’t you come and meet me in the eyes? Just tell me what I did wrong and let’s fix it, dammit!
‘Hey, why’re you all frowning like this? What’s in that envelope?’ I looked up to the voice in front of me but all I could give her was a bitter smile. Didn’t want to think of it anymore, I folded the thin envelope and slipped it into my purse.
‘I thought I was late but I came here first before you do.’ Changing the topic, I grinned like a kid as Seungyeon Onnie took a seat in front of me inside the small coffee shop.

‘Here, it’s an invitation to my wedding. It’s going to be a few weeks away but I guess I’m just too excited.’
My mouth went to an ‘O’ when I heard her answer. Carefully, I took the piece of paper out from the cover and read the content. Han Seungyeon and Nam Woohyun.

‘Nam Woo…Hyun? I think I’ve heard his name before somewhere…’
‘Yeah, he’s a singer.’ I heard Seungyeon Onnie’s voice and looked at her. She’s all smiling and I knew she’s truly happy.
‘Oh… I guess that’s why. I’ve never heard his songs though. Sorry, I at things like this but I’ll be sure to come. I’ll bring my brother too, is it fine with you?’ I asked again, being excited like I really was.
Seungyeon Onnie’s been a nice friend to me since these past weeks. She even opened up to me about her past and how her future husband had changed her life completely. It’s the first time I was ever close to someone like this. I couldn’t remember any of my friends, so I considered Seungyeon Onnie as my first one.
‘Sure, bring as many friends as you like. I’m sure Woohyun would like it too.’
We continued to talk about random things. Her future husband, she told me that he’s the nicest guy alive and how she missed her hometown. Even though she didn’t have any family left there, she still missed the place where she grew up but somehow, I couldn’t get over that name. Nam Woohyun, it’s not that he’
