Chapter 1

The Artistic Punk

The roads had started to settle down when the Bakery down town was at its busiest. The bakery was named Blue, and only the owner knew why: The insides of the bakery were luscious though. The bread baking always gave the sweetest scent to the shop, along with the hot chocolate mixing in the creamer of course. Soft classical music, occasionally pop, let anyone who came in suddenly feel taken over by relaxation. The constant run of the ovens and the small fireplace in the corner of the shop let everyone feel warm and cozy. Even if it was only fall, the insides of Blue, were to die for.

Blue was famous and the setting was only part of the reason why. Somehow, Blue had hired some of the friendliest people in Seoul. They were always cheery, and if the fireplace, or the ovens didn’t do it for you, their smiles definitely warmed you up. Sadly, most of the waiters only worked there in the winter, or in the summer. Only a few of them worked all year around. For example, Lee Donghae.

Lee Donghae was loved by anyone and everyone who came into the shop. He was the youngest member on board in the Blue Bakery, so he was a bright, fresh face to everyone. He was a college student in Seoul’s University of the Fine Arts. He had moved from Mokpo, and was on a tight budget. Somehow word had gone about this so the costumers ninety-eight percent of the time left him a tip, that sometimes couldn’t be counted as one. The costumers had to leave though right after they left the money on the counter: They didn’t want Donghae to give them back the extra money.

Donghae originally loved working there for the friendly atmosphere, and the sweet samples. He loved the blue-berry muffins the most, and loved watching everyone else smile as they took a bite into the fresh new sweets. He just loved being there, but then he found a new reason to enjoy the place. A new costumer had came in the first few months of Donghae working there. He had quickly became a usual, and always sat next to the window looking out at the busy roads of Seoul beside them. Lucky for Donghae, that was the section he was suppose to take care of if there was the normal amount of workers, if not he just took more sections to waiter at.

He soon learned the boy’s name to be Eunhyuk, or at least that’s what he had told Donghae. Eunhyuk was almost always there with his laptop and his backpack about an hour after Donghae‘s shift would have started. Papers were usually placed to his left in a nice neat stack, while the coffee mug, that would be filled with four packets of sugar, would be on his right, on the other side of the table. If Eunhyuk didn’t come in the start of Donghae’s Shift, Eunhyuk would end up there later, about thirty minutes before it ended. At those times though, he only brought a book with him which was almost always glued to his eyes. It wasn’t a bad idea coming in and reading there at nine-thirty  at night though. There were very few to no costumers there. Any other costumers there, wouldn’t be rowdy and obnoxious though. They usually had the same idea: Reading, writing and mostly:

 Silence

Donghae enjoyed seeing the boy come in though, honestly. He felt a strange attraction to him. He felt his heart beat faster at the first sight of him walking in. He felt his legs wobble a bit when the boy would talk. Even breathing became a tad difficult when the boy even looked at Donghae.  The bad part was though, Donghae couldn’t even utter a word to the ‘usual’ unless it was the scripted lines for waiters.  And It was not suppose to change.

“ Hello, do you want anything else?” Donghae asked, just to have another reason to hear him speak.

It was another late night for the boy. He had brought two books with him so Donghae didn’t know how long he’d be staying there, so it seemed like it was okay to ask if he wanted yet another coffee.

“ No thanks.” Eunhyuk replied sipping the coffee.

“ Alright. I’ll be over there if you need anything.” Donghae noted, as he shyly pointed at the counter a few feet away. Eunhyuk chuckled lightly and nodded.

 “ I know.”

Donghae’s face flushed and he scurried behind the counter. He silently cussed himself out as he watched the boy turn the page of his book.

Eunhyuk glanced through the corner of his eye. He smiled softly to himself as he glanced at the waiter. Eunhyuk recognized Donghae from the school, which they both went too. Well, Eunhyuk went to the same campus at least, he was studying something completely different then art. He was studying business management, which he had thought was going to be an amazing concept. Turns out, he was wrong and he had become utterly bored with reading the same old stories about a man who built a building.

 Many people build buildings.

Anyway, Eunhyuk knew this boy because his paintings were phenomenal. They were displayed on every building on the campus, and they were always so angelic but so beautiful. Everyone pretty much knew this boy from this actually. They have asked him to paint and sketch things for themselves, and teachers ask him to paint pictures for the too bland hallways. To Eunhyuk’s knowledge, he’s never said no and he wonders how Donghae can keep up with everyone’s request. Eunhyuk can hardly do this, and he’s thought to be a genius.

“ Actually, Donghae.” Eunhyuk started. He chuckled as Donghae’s head perked up and he jogged over to him. “ Can I have a muffin.”

 “ What kind of muffin?”

“ Um, what do you recommend.”

“ I recommend, the blue berry.” Donghae chirped. Eunhyuk nodded.

“ Then get me that one.”

Donghae quickly did so, sliding it into the middle of the table, beside the boy’s drink like it usually is placed.  Eunhyuk’s eyes widened a bit at the gesture, before thanking the boy. Donghae gave a quick nod and jogged back over to his station.

 “ How’d he know?”

That was the last of their conversation towards each other for that night. Donghae had left, leaving only Leeteuk there to work. He was the son of the shop so it was only natural for him. When Eunhyuk had finished his muffin, leaving the plate completely clean, and his drink, he left the money on the table like always. He grabbed his books and left. Leeteuk snatched up the money and put it in the jar where Donghae’s tips were placed if he had left before the costumer paid.

Eunhyuk smiled and pushed his books into his bag as he walked out of the shop and down towards his ‘daily’ tunnel. He always felt like he’d walk into a different world when he went over it. If he was going to  the bakery, everything felt fresher, when he was leaving the bakery to go home, it felt like his life was once again old and dusty.

Suddenly Eunhyuk’s phone rang and he gently pressed the answer button before bringing it up to his ear. It was his friend Kyuhyun. He always called on his way home to check if he was coming home at all. It wasn’t rare for Eunhyuk to just find a hotel and sleep in it for the night instead of going home.

 “ Eunhyuk-hyung?” Kyuhyun asked.

“ Yeah what’s up?” Eunhyuk replied.
 “ Just checking in.”

 “ Don’t worry. I’m coming home.”

“ Good. ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’ aren’t home anyway.”

 “ How do you know?”

“ They haven’t screamed at me to turn the volume down on my game.”

Eunhyuk chuckled. His friend was sort of a room-mate. His father had kicked him out, so Eunhyuk convinced his parents to let him stay. He didn’t mind Kyuhyun blasting his video-game music, but his parents surely did. They once broke the boy’s television to get him to shut up. Kyuhyun though, had more then one television.

“ So which way you coming.”

“ The same way I always do Kyu.”

 “ And that way is?”

“ Over the bridge and through the dirt.” Eunhyuk cringed. He hated the path he took, but he hated being out at night more, so the shortest path was the only path in his mind.

“ See anything from the fish dude?” Kyuhyun asked.

Eunhyuk growled. As if on cue, Eunhyuk passed a new wall taken over by the one and only ‘ Fish dude’. Eunhyuk didn’t know the boy’s name, or what he looked like, but he knew he signed, next to what ever the scribble was suppose to be, a heart with a fish face. He thought it was completely childish, and he had quickly told his friend all about it. Eunhyuk calls him an artistic punk, while Kyuhyun calls him fish dude.

Artistic Punk just sounded more mature.

The Artistic Punk, was well known all around the city for his ‘art’. He goes around at night spray painting, what Eunhyuk calls, garbage. It was never any thing truly scandalous but it was still not always pleasant. It started with a bloodied fish, which everyone believed to be a joke, and then the drawings would switch from happy go lucky pictures and words to depressing works. He didn’t understand the boy.

At times you could find a basket behind the wall he painted on, the walls usually being the pillars/walls on bridges and stone fences, which had papers that explained the picture. It was like he was using the world as an art gallery, explaining his paintings and all. Eunhyuk once, out of pure curiosity,  picked up one of the pamphlets on his way home. All he got out of it was the picture dealt with his mother being angry. He concluded the paintings were about his life, but he still found it stupid.

Painting on public property was just plain stupid, and this was only one reason Eunhyuk despised this person.

He couldn’t wait to discover who it was.

This time though, it pissed him off even more. The man had painted on the bridge Eunhyuk had found so magical and pure. The tunnel was a bridge, so it was a matter of time before the Artistic Punk got his hands on it but still. Eunhyuk loved this bridge.

The weird thing was the picture was different, not normal. Instead of something happy or sad, it was a coffee cup, steam rising out, with a blue-berry muffin on the side. Right below it was the man’s signature and the annoying fish face he hated so much.

He had concluded he was going to find this man.

Chapter 4: It was adorable of Hae when he stuck his tongue out to that police officer for calling his tea cup painting a kid painting.lol,so cute <3 I thought he was going to get caught when he slipped off the branch!Nooo! So much tension.Hopefully he didn’t though.Phew!

Minho sure is persistent.I mean,2 hours to convince him to go?They (Wonnie and Minho) sure are protective of Hae.

Aww,Hae doesn’t want to get rid of the ruined painting may be because it reminds him of Hyuk now?Or may be it created a chance for him to finally talk to his long time crush so a memento?

Again Hae and Minho interaction.I mean…wow!Minho cares a hell lot for Hae don’t you think?A little bit out-of-line caring though…Too much!I wonder the whole extent of their relationship and what they have been through so far.

Eunhyuk aww!He is happy and tries to look better because he will see Hae today. So cute!Even his teacher noticed!

Ah!I think you wanted to write “Why did he ask for a day off?” not why didn’t he.

“Killing would mean effort, so no”ROFL!I love you Hae!

Eunhae interaction was adorable.Especially this part below is my favorite:
“ You’re going to be late Eunhyuk.”
“ I’m never late.”
And with that the bell rang. Eunhyuk’s face flushed a bit as Donghae giggled.”Hehe!

“ Everyone messes up a bit in their lives Eunhyuk. Get used to it.”
^^Isn’t Hae right though? That’s the proof that him being in Hyuk’s life will effect Hyuk well.

“His professor only held a knowing-smirk on his face-”OMG!I love his professor! :D Hehe =D
Also,i REALLY love how you mention Hyuk's internal thoughts about Hae,his feelings when he is near Hae like how he gets really excited to be with Hae or how he couldn't get angry at Hae for not showing up at cafe and so on.
Anyway, need to go now to driving lessons but i just wanna say shortly that this story has so much potential and i hope you update and someday finish it;even if the updates are slow we still love this story =) So Kri fighting!

Chapter 3: “If anything, he’d hope he’d have an impatient Donghae at the entrance.”
^
Fangirl mode first:Aww Hyuk,so cute!
Reality mode: Ooooh, did Hae ditch Hyuk for the things he said about his art?At the end of the previous chapter if you asked me about this i would have said yep,he deserved it but now that i’m reading about him waiting and stuff i feel sorry for him.LOL,bias feels!

Minho and Siwon appear in the story.Ho-ho!Can’t wait for their characters to be totally introduced. And Minho sure is possessive of Hae isn’t he?I mean, what’s with the sudden backhug? o.O

“Eunhyuk tapped Donghae’s shoulder, trying to be as friendly as possible, but once he was passed the two, he quickly wiped his hands roughly against his jeans.”Lee Eunhyuk!WTH is wrong with you?OMG!This is good for the future character interaction development but wth?How did he live his life like this? Why didn’t his parents take him to a doctor? It is not a bad thing to go to doctor for that.It would have made his life much easier too…poor baby!

I actually like Hae and Minho interaction. They seem awfully close.

So Hyuk is afraid of spiders?I don’t know if i want to laugh or feel sad for him.

“Kyuhyun whined, falling, and flailing on the ground dramatically.”SAHNKJSKSDDSCFKNJS SO ADORABLE!

Kyu and Hyuk interaction was million times better than Hae and Minho though.Love <3

So,um,Hyuk told Hae that his jeans were at the cleaners and he will return them tomorrow. But he comes home and Kyu says the pants Hyuk is wearing at that moment (mind you, they are the same ones he was wearing when he saw Hae) are not his.And Hyuk says they are Hae’s (that friend’s).lol, did he lie to Hae?Why?

Chapter 2: So Hyuk memorizes everything?Without understanding?Ouch,my head hurts even from the idea of it.I really can not, for the life of me, memorize much.I need to understand it otherwise it is a no-no.He is a lucky bastard.
OMG!Eunhyuk is a fanboy (i know i should touch upon his over-the-top cleaning/organizing habits but whatever)He types an e-mail to Hae,anonymously at that!lol,adorable!
Hyuk is sure sassy and grumpy.Hae was so patient towards him about paints on pants and graffiti and all the other stuff.
Aww!Poor Hae! He got called gangster and his graffiti was called stupid and immature by his long-going crush.Hyuk seems like totally out of his reach since he really hates Hae(well, not really Hae but his other identity) Really feel sorry for him T.T Hae fighting!
escapist #4
Chapter 1: I love the description of Blue Bakery.Just my cup of tea.Such a nice place to go or work.Lucky Hae.
Eunhae is so sweet. They are secretly aware of each other since the beginning ha?Lovely!
Aww,the workers in the cafe who are always friendly and smiling and the customers who leave tips and hurry out of the cafe for Hae not returning the money back to them are all warm and lovely people.
“It wasn’t rare for Eunhyuk to just find a hotel and sleep in it for the night instead of going home”Eh??Why?Don’t tell me it is because he gets lazy and sleepy and can’t bother going home and just crashes somewhere?LOL if that’s the case!He doesn’t have money problem so why not i guess?
LMAO!Fish dude?Kyu,i thought you were better than that.I love Hyuk’s artistic punk much more.A heart with a fish face is so like Hae OMG!Precious!
Ooooh!Eunhyuk is such a party pooper for being so dedicated to rules.I mean, his reason to hate Hae’s graffiti is because it is painted on public property?WTH?So stuck up he seems;so far.I love graffiti and the idea of using the world as an art gallery. As long as you don’t harm anyone and don’t provoke people by your paintings what/where is the harm? And the thing Hae drew is so endearing too.I mean coffee cup with a blueberry muffin <3 Yes Hyuk, find him if you can.I dare you!I really wonder what his reaction is gonna be when he finds out.
