I flinched even when a leaf shakes. This is just too creepy for me to take it. I can’t possibly knock a person unconscious. That’s just insane. Daehyun, on the other hand, is taking this too easily. He maneuvered through the thick bushes and tall grass with the grace of an athlete while I basically crawled my way through.

I kept my eyes open though. In case there is any sign of cup noodles appearing right in front of me. My stomach started to grumble. Yep. It’s a sign that I should eat. ASAP.

“Where are we?” I asked Daehyun. He turned back and gave me a lopsided smile.

“Good question. I have no idea too.”

My jaw hung open. “Nice answer. So how the hell do we find food?”

“Just walk. I bet we’ll find some food soon.” He replied.

My shoulders sank and I continued trudging through the forest.

“Hey, do you hear that?” Daehyun suddenly stopped in his tracks and listened to his surroundings intently. He put a finger to his mouth, ‘shhing’ me. I stopped breathing.

“What?”

“Footsteps. Quick and urgent.” He said and gestured for me to follow him and I tried my best to be silent as possible. He peered out from a very big tree while I waited impatiently behind him.

“Who’s that?” I whispered.

“Luhan and Miyeon team, and they found the food that we’re searching for.” He said.

Excitement replaced all my fear and panic as I barged out from my hiding place and darted over to Luhan. He didn’t noticed me at first and I contemplated whether to knock him out with my fists first or steal the food and go.

“Oppa! Eun Ji and Daehyun oppa are here! Quick take all the food and go!” Miyeon shouted. I cursed and ignored Miyeon blocking me violently. I want to scratch her face but I focused on putting all the instant noodles into my  new bag pack.

“Uh-oh. The sissy is here. What should we do?” I heard Luhan say. In a flash, he pulled the hood of my hoodie back and dragged me towards him. Amusement flickered in his eyes for a moment but it was gone the next.

“You stupid idiot! Let me go!” I struggled under his grip but he wouldn’t release me. “Daehyun, quick! Still the food from her!” I shouted to him. He looked between saving me and the food but chose the food instead. Good choice, Daehyun.

“Not so fast, little boy.” From behind me, he whistled and suddenly ten men in black came rushing over to him, surrounding us. I took a couple of seconds to process what was happening when they approach Daehyun and captured Daehyun up.

“Yah! You’re cheating! This isn’t fair!” I shouted at Luhan. He laughed and motioned for them to pick the food up. They obeyed and gathered them without a word. Anger built up inside me. I balled my fist.

“You’ll thank me for this, my sweet little fiancée. Now for you to take a nap…” Luhan fished something out from his pocket. It was his handkerchief. As much as I want to mock him for being such a girl, he brought his handkerchief to my face and I stupidly inhaled the weird smell that came from it.

The world spun and my vision blurred. I tried to talk but I think what came out from my mouth was gibberish.

“Lu…han…die…” I said. I think that’s what I will say if I’m not in this state. He drugged me. Well, at least he didn’t hit my head, I’ll definitely skewer him alive for that. He held my shoulders while I tried to balance myself.

But I gave in.

“Sleep now, I’ll wake you up later.” Luhan whispered.

The world turned black and I crashed into his arms.

“And the winner goes to Luhan-Miyeon pair! Congratulations!”

The principal announced. I woke up from my ‘nap’ a few hours later in the infirmary. Daehyun was sleeping just beside me. Now, all the participants gathered in the field and the darn principal just announced the winner for the first round.

“Any special request, Luhan? Miyeon?” he asked. The participants were silent and tired. They didn’t even bother to clap for the winners. It’s like they’d expected him to win.

“Yes, sir. I would like to have Eun Ji to be my partner.” Luhan’s gaze landed on me and gave me a tiny smile. My eyes widened at what he had just said.

“Then Luhan will partner up with Eun Ji and Miyeon with Daehyun. Is that all right?” the principal announced. I shot him a ‘wtf’ look and then the ‘never in my life I will do that’ look. I was about to protest but the big mouthed Miyeon beat me to it.

“Andwae! I want to be with Oppa!” she whined and kicked the grass and even threatened to stop donating money to the school. The principal paced around us and scratched his head furiously, thinking about this matter.

“Miyeon ah…this is the rule we can’t change it. Go with Daehyun~” Luhan nudged Miyeon over to Daehyun but Daehyun just stared at the principal, waiting for his final verdict.

Whatever I say to the principal was futile because I was a loser. I lost this round and I have no rights to speak up. I lowered my head down and watch as he decide on this matter. He pulled Daehyun to one corner and talked secretively. My ears perked and my curiosity peaked.

I want to know what they are talking about.

*Ugh! Curse you, Luhan.*

“All right. Since I’m the game master for this game, my word will be final.” The principal finally decided to reveal his final verdict. I yawned and mentally prepare myself to go home and have a nice sleep.

This game is really stupid and meaningless. What cultivate bonding and those bull. This is just wasting of my precious time!

“There shall be no objection to my decision and the games will continue smoothly! Today shall be the last day that I will use the ‘special wish’ rule. Luhan, Miyeon, Eun Ji and Daehyun will be one team and that’s that. For now, the game team will transport you guys back to your respective venue in the jungle and wait for further instructions through the devices that were provided. Stay safe and goodnight.”
