When writing a story, you would like to use powerful words that would best describe the setting.

Example - She smiled as tears fell -------------------------> She smiled gently yet tears were flowing from her eyes. 

Adding adjectives expresses more feelings towards the characters and readers. You can turn a simple sentence into something yet more different. Using certain types of vocabulary can be hard, depending on what story you're writing on. 

When using adjectives, you may want to think about a few things when you're writing. It may be a bit confusing if you were to be writing a very depressing scene with basic words which wouldn't explain the situation as much. Adding emotions may be easy, but describing them is difficult. There are times where you wounldn't even know what word to use since the character is in a complicated situation.

A way to find good adjectives is to type up your draft file into a document and highlight the basic term before right clicking on your mouse to open up the options tab. Scroll down till you find the word Synomyms. Click on it where a whole list of words relating to that highlighted word is given to replace the highlighted. 
This will provide complicated or unknown words to your story, but it's worth it since it gives out a more better image. Be sure though, don't use past tense words when doing this - the program will just provide the present tense word only.
