Jaejoong oppa is really late. I texted him to meet me in this restaurant at 7pm, but now it’s 8 and he still doesn’t show up. Maybe he’s really busy or he didn’t receive my text messages.

Even though he said he’ll just try, I still reserved a table for two in his favorite restaurant. The waiter asked if I like a drink or something, but I replied that I’m still waiting for someone. I looked around only to see couples dating. Ugh, I envy them. Where are you now, Kim Jaejoong?

“Oh really oppa? We’re gonna go to Jeju this Saturday?” the girl on the table behind me squealed. And somewhat, her voice is familiar, but never mind. I had talked to many kinds of people in my work, remember? And our company has too many employees that have different voices, so it won’t be unusual if a voice is familiar. My employees are having dinner here in the same restaurant as me? Cool.

I bet the guy that she’s having dinner with just nodded, “Really? Thanks! I’ve been never to Jeju Island since I came back from the States. What should I bring, huh, Jae oppa?”

She’s never been to Jeju? Oh poor girl. And should she br – wait.

Jae oppa?

I consciously looked behind me, trying to hide my face just in case. Jae oppa? Jae – Jaejoong? Jae? But that’s my nickname for my Jaejoong. He lets people call him with that nickname if they’re close or important.  Maybe it means Jae Suk or Jae Chun. Whatever, I’ll just look. Just. In. Case.

Oh please, God. Let it not be him. Just a few more …

Then I saw him. I saw Jaejoong. He’s having dinner, smiling – with another girl. Wait, she looks familiar – J-Jessica?

I faced my table again. Tears are now threatening to fall anytime. Why is he with . . . Jessica . . . on his birthday? I thought she’s in US. And they’re going to Jeju this weekend? What – what about m-me? What about us? What about our relationship?

I called the waiter and gave him my credit card. When he came back, I immediately went out of that restaurant. I hope people didn’t shoot me weird stares. But that’s not what I am concerned now.
