I stare at the ceiling, unable to sleep. I could hear Jonghyun lightly snoring next door, and it made me wonder how a light sleeper like Taemin could bear that noise, he sounded like some roaring dinosaur.
Taemin dorms with me...why did he suddenly want Jonghyun?
I get up and grab my phone, glancing at the time.
1 AM.
I go to my messages and then through my contacts, finding Kwon Jiyong.
‘Hyung are you awake?’ I send the text, getting up and turning on the lights, blinking to let my eyes adjust.
I change clothes, and run a hand through my hair to fix it, not wanting to wake anyone by using the bathroom, and run when my phone vibrates with a reply.
‘Yeah, why?’
‘Can’t sleep.’ I send back.
Instant reply,
‘Only one awake?’
‘Yeah, you?’ I send.
‘Same,’ he answers and then a second text follows, ‘McDonalds by your dorm in ten minutes?’
‘Sounds good.’ I reply, pocketing my phone and turning off the lights before leaving my room quietly.
I cross the kitchen and living room, and have just unlocked the door when Taemin speaks,
“Where are you going hyung?”
I jump, startled, and turn to see him laying down on the sofa. I glance to make sure Jonghyun didn’t wake up, and then back at Taemin, seeing he’s asleep relief blows through me.
He’d been talking in his sleep, an old habit.
I smile and slip outside into the cold morning, sprinting down the steps and towards the nearby McDonald’s.
