Muted laughter and sunlight awoke me and sleep silenced pain spread through me. My entire body ached, and I can’t remember anything after the man’s attempt at drowning me. No not drown. Torture. If he wanted to drown me, I’d be dead. Not breathing. I took in a breath just to be sure. Yes. Alive. I’m still alive. I look down at my chest with the K burned onto it, and my arm with the other K. KK. Kim Kibum. I sigh and get up, taking a step to wake my legs up only to find my right leg chained. “Be a good boy and sit,” Daniel stands by the attic door, a plate of food in his hand; by the looks of it, he just came up. “I’m not a dog,” I speak, not moving, but my stomach growls, betraying me. He hears it and smiles, “But you want food, don’t you?” “I think I’d rather starve than eat and go through another ‘yesterday’.” He sets the food down anyways, “Eat or you will face another ‘yesterday’. And hurry because we’re leaving this place.” My head jerks up as I begin to eat, “Leaving?” Another chance to escape. “Is this your boss’s idea?” I ask. He nods slowly, watching me. I stay quiet for a minute, chewing. The ‘boss’ he looked so familiar, I recognized him. He looked like an idol, but...his name refused to come to mind. “What’s his name?” I ask casually. “Whose?” “Your boss.” A smile spreads on his face, “You recognize him?” I just nod, my mouth too full. I was scarfing the food down like an animal, not having eaten since the day before yesterday. “Can’t you name him?” Daniel probes. “Clearly not if I’m asking you,” I roll my eyes at his question. “Guess it really works then...” “What does?” I look at him, a bad feeling in my stomach brewing. “Well, guess it won’t matter if I tell ya...” he takes a seat on a chair, “Your ‘friends’, the other four in your group, aren’t coming to get you.
