"Hyung, we really should go back to bed now. It's getting late," Sehun pleaded, his voice filled with concern as he gently tugged on Kai's light beige pajama sleeve. The moonlight cascaded through the window, casting a soft glow on their faces, highlighting the worry etched on Sehun's features.

Kai, the enigmatic and captivating idol, seemed to be lost in his own world, completely oblivious to Sehun's presence. Sehun, the ever-observant and curious soul, couldn't help but wonder if Kai was intentionally ignoring him. The uncertainty gnawed at Sehun's mind, leaving him with a lingering feeling that it was indeed the latter - Kai was purposefully disregarding him.

“Come on Hunnie.” the rapper's voice was barely above a whisper. 

The younger boy let out a heavy sigh, but he couldn't resist the temptation of following Kai down the stairs. His heart was set on getting some candy. As they descended the wooden stairs, the sound of creaking echoed through the air. The foot pads stuck slightly to the hard material. 

"Hyung, we really should make our way back," Sehun pleaded, his voice laced with anxiety. The mere mention of Suho Hyung's wrath sent shivers down his spine. Oh, the blissful allure of candy was undeniable, but the looming specter of punishment was enough to make his heart race. Sehun was aware that they were brazenly breaking the rules… once again.

To be honest, Sehun wasn’t even sure if Suho and Chanyeol were asleep yet. He was half asleep and barely conscious was Kai asked him to accompany him on his adventure to Candy Land. However, Sehun was reluctant. He knew that they were not allowed to leave their rooms after they had been sent to bed. Oh… but Kai was promising candy! Candy! Sweet candy!

He was also pretty sure that Kai had gotten in trouble for this before; sneaking out of his room after bedtime. He hadn’t asked though. He had been much more focused on trying to make his movements as silent as a whisper.

Sehun was just about to nag his Hyung again when they reached the bottom of the stairs. Kai’s eyes were set on the cabinet that lay ahead of them.

Maybe they deserved this. They had both been working so hard these past few days with a comeback just around the corner, maybe they deserved a little midnight snack. 

Kai had always been a wild card, never one to worry about the consequences of his actions. Even when they had just debuted, he was always bursting with energy and life. Sehun stood next to Kai locking his own eyes on the cabinet.

“Ready?” Kai asked.

“Yeah…”

“Ready for what Kai?”

It was Chanyeol’s voice. 

“Hyung!” Kai exclaimed.

“We were… were just getting some… some… water!” Kai stuttered out. Sehun nodded with exaggeration to his lie.

“Water,” Chanyeol repeated unamused. They both knew they were in deep . Chanyeol just glared at them.

“You’re supposed to get water before you go to bed.”

“Yes, Hyung,” they say in unison.

“Hurry up, get your water, and go back to bed,” Chanyeol said before turning to head back up the stairs. 

“Yes!” Kai said quietly as Sehun was on the verge of a heart attack. 

“Come on let’s go.”

Kai and Sehun made their way into the kitchen and Kai beelined to the cabinet.

“Kai, no!” Sehun whispered

Kai opened the cabinet and pulled out a bag of gummy worms.

“What do you mean? This is what we came down here for.”

“Yes, but we already almost got in trouble. Put it back!”

“No.”

“Then I’ll tell,” Sehun said as a final plea. 

“ you Sehun.”

“Excuse me Kai!”

Both boys whirled around to face an angry Suho and a smirking Chanyeol.

“Hyungs! He-! I didn’t want-! I told him-!” Sehun cried, not finishing any of his sentences, before breaking down into a mess of tears. Kai just stood there, wide-eyed. 

Chanyeol then approached Kai, snatching the bag of gummy worms out of his hand. Suho followed grabbing each of their ears and pulling them towards the stairs. 

“Ow! Hyung! No!” they cried. 

He dragged them into the room that Kai shared with D.O.

Suho sighed before starting. “What were you thinking? Hm? First off, you left your rooms after bedtime, and secondly, you lied to Chanyeol.” He paused. “Who’s idea was this?”

In all actuality, Suho already knew it was Kai. Sehun was too afraid of punishment to pull a stunt like that on his own. 

“Mine, Hyung,” Kai spoke honestly. Kai thought the whole thing was stupid. He should be able to do what he wants when he wants. 

Sehun was barely even listening to Suho. He was more worried about the man standing behind Suho. Chanyeol. Sure Suho was strict, but Chanyeol had a heavy hand and he never hesitated to discipline his younger brothers.

“Kai, go stand in that corner over there. Come here, Sehun.”

Kai was bubbling with annoyance. He hated being sent to the corner like a child. In true Kai fashion, he didn’t move. Suho gave him the ‘do you really want a spanking in front of the maknae’ look. Reluctantly, Kai got up from the bed and drug himself to the corner.
