Granting Requests Pt 3 [CLOSED]OTP: finally more hwabyul
Prompt: how about the behind the story of wheesun hwabyul swapped aong based on their concert? The twit/eclipse and watercolor/honey one?
A/N: Gosh i didn’t realize the level of difficulty on relying on translations (which I already do not like doing because I did translation work before and I kept screaming at the nuance getting removed each time)

Moon Byulyi has always lacked the tact to be a protagonist in her own love story. It must be because of the sudden reservedness when faced with emotional depth— not that she keeps her cards close to her chest, but finding an “I” in a story for two is just so hazy.
At least, to Byulyi, it’s just hard to make things she likes about herself.
Before and after everything, she’s always been a giver— a family person— a generous person that never seems to run out of things to give.
But even before and after it all— a past shared with Ahn Hyejin— Byulyi finds herself tending to some plants under the moonlight.
It’s dumb. If Byulyi were to answer questions Hyejin asked her way back when they were dating— getting to know each other, it’s dumb how Byulyi still fails to answer.
She fails to answer,
So what’s your favorite show?
Favorite character?
Favorite food?
Color?
Not because she couldn’t, not because she had no answer,
But because it didn’t matter.
Or rather,
There’s this unnamed insecurity to talk about herself— it feels too selfish to do so, it feels too… hard.
It feels wrong, somehow, to make herself the protagonist of her own story.
Hence, tending to flowers in the light of the night felt important— nostalgic.
Maybe dating her business partner was a pretty bad idea.
-
Hyejin knew it was a bad idea. Now work is awkward. She shares the same area with her ex— and the break up was nothing but… confusing.
Hyejin just watches her— the owner of the records store next to her plants— like a phantom something whispers,
She made you royal, a hero, a genius—
It’s that nagging conscience again, like a nightmare, a repetitive pattern of
She gave you a lot, so why were you still unhappy?
It’s way worse that floral business during this time is the…driest, so Hyejin barely had anything to do and no one to talk to.
As she looks at Byulyi, she’s a bit lifeless— like someone in need of some vitamin D. She looked like she forgot to leave the house for so long— her dried lips, colorless skin, and lifeless eyes…
She just looks so lonely.
Hyejin just wanted to be with someone that could share profound emotional experiences with her— someone who can share their story with hers, someone she can listen to ramble on and on about themselves.
It’s the misleading interpretation everyone makes when they’re dazed by extroverts.
Hyejin has always had a type for outward-focused people, be it ideas or experiences, she finds people that focus beyond themselves attractive.
Because it’s way more interesting to know what they make of every external life they live.
An outward way to view the world, making it be the very mold they fit in is just so different from Hyejin.
A person holds her cards close to her chest, despite the secretive and reserved facade, she’d froth it if someone gets to ask her about herself— remind her she’s the protagonist of her own story.
Which was exactly how she fell for her business partner— a rookie mistake at best, but hey, the record store owner is pretty hot.
-
It was painful— and Byulyi doesn’t want to admit why— to admit she was right—
But to hear someone she made her safe place—
