OTP: moonsun

Prompt: Could you write a Moonsun oneshot in wherein Moonyul is furious/angry and Solar is the only one able to calm her down? thank you!

A/N: I am guessing this was non-au in mind with a much simpler plot and reason for anger but I was struggling to think of anything so I dug deep into my inner childhood interests and found out I used to really like pirates around the 16th to 18th century. Sorry… lol

There is something aggravating about people in high positions— noble men with so much power— that would choose inaction and ignorance.

For Byulyi, this cannot abide.

These same noble men hindered her, a woman that somehow got into military academies and passed the exams— twice.

Under the name of Yi.

She did get the post she’s due, she was actually even assigned to hilled riversides, to defend towns beyond disrepair from raiders. But Yi was as relentless as a coursing river— her wisdom was as mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

The raiders that threatened her post were horse-riding bow men. And knowing how weapons work, Yi set out a simple trap. Her men were acting as farmers by the river bed— all civilians already hidden away in the hilled side.

Once the galloping of horses and loud cries of an ambush started, the feigning farmers seemingly retreated into huts uphill, forcing the raiders to follow— having seen nothing of value in the riverside territory.

It was the perfect plan.

While the ones manning the hillside rained arrows on the raiders— having the height advantage, the assigned militant of this hopeless case with just a few of her trusted men, raided the territory of the enemy.

And with a swift victory, Yi was promoted and just as fast— jealous noble men set her up.

It was another one of those barren and hopeless borders that she fortified, but the higher up she was assigned with do not abide nor even listen and consider her daily requests for resources.

This swiftly led to the commander’s demise. It was torture— and when they learned Yi was a woman— the pain worsened and the order was death.

But in the moment Byulyi got to speak, she had the favor of the crowd and other higher ups, having witnessed her work from a far. They believed her when she said, in blood stained teeth,

“I had withstood someone else’s punishment. It was not my compliance that caused the demise of that town. It was the negligence of my superior— I had sent letters daily, requesting resources.” Staggering at her broken ribs and bloodied state, Byulyi gulps and continues. “But unlike the support I was graced before, I was assigned to someone more incompetent and worse than a thief.”

Given that it was a nameless nobleman by proxy— Byulyi got her life sentence canceled but she was removed from her post— forced to work at the bottom line once more.

It ing pissed her off. So she opted out of said military— for now, at least. Right now she found herself in a port city— with a woman, as their leader.

The ex-military genius went to her court immediately, asking for a trial— a place beside her, as she’s promised her unseen greatness.

-

Yongsun is weary of promises— especially from someone untested and if uttered words were of greatness.

Because one does not promise greatness, one is and precedes it.

So when an ex-military— one she suspects has danced around the politics of the mainland— asks a trial for her, to become her right hand man, Yongsun was impressed.

There were no favors no promises, just one chance to show her worth.

And who’s Yongsun— but a pirate queen in hiding— to say no to such a humble request?

She didn’t test this humble challenger to fight alone. No. Yongsun can train fighters, but she can only find ingenious admirals.

And this one— she wanted to be called Yi, was admirably, a genius naval architect.

Yongsun gave her the resources, the manpower, and several fishing boats to revitalize her pirate fleet. And with a confident smirk, the challenger agreed.

Yongsun was intrigued— Yi did not hesitate.

After the craft of what Yongsun could only describe as turtle ships, the soon to be general of the pirate queen started her true trial— to showcase her true genius in war.

It was simple, destroy the fleet of Yongsun’s enemies, pillage their villages but kill no civilian.

Much to the queen's surprise, news came that they’ve successfully expanded,
