Everyone resumed their positions as the break came to an end, running to their spots and doing a quick check on their appearances before the cameras started rolling. Hyecha and Jae quickly did a last minute once over before overly enthusiastic smiles took over their faces, ready to start their regular MCing.

“Time to find out which idols our trainees have been paired with!” Jae announced just as the PD dropped his hand. “Runa-ssi, since you’re last in the line, you’re up!”

“Runa-ssi picked an album of 2PM,” Hyecha said as Runa shyly made her way to the center. “Which idol does it belong to?”

She held the album firmly in her hands as one of the male idols approached her. The audience and the members on stage made gasping sounds behind her back, seeing who’s it was that she picked.

“Who is it? Is it Nichkhun-ssi who brought his own album?” Jae commented playfully as arms suddenly appeared and the idol wrapped his arms lightly around Runa’s shoulders.

She pressed her lips together to stop herself from squealing out loud as she turned, and the arms withdrew as she came face to face with G-Dragon.

“First couple, G-Dragon and Runa!” Hyecha said as everyone clapped. The two did a quick nod as they walked to the side.

“G-Dragon-ssi, I’m curious, why did you bring 2PM’s album?” Jae asked him. Nichkhun was grinning on the sidelines as if he already knew the answer.

“I heard Nichkhun was coming so I thought it’d be funny,” G-Dragon answered with a smile as everyone laughed. “But really, I’m close with Junsu from 2PM, so it was his gift.”

“I see, so it was a gift from a close friend,” Hyecha commented as Nichkhun nodded along. 

G-Dragon nodded as well as Runa turned to him and bowed, presenting him with his item. He thanked her shyly as she gave it back to him.

The MCs both giggled as they saw the short exchange between the two of them. “Megan-ssi,” Hyecha called out.

Megan nodded as she moved to the front. “Megan-ssi got stuck with the last item, I wonder who it belongs to...” Jae said as Megan remained motionless as she waited.

Megan suddenly felt hands on her shoulders as the idol attempted his version of a back hug, and she turned to find the group maknae smiling shyly at her. She giggled as she quickly backed up and did a slight bow.

“Second couple, Taemin, Megan!” Jae called out as more clapping followed. 

“Taemin-ssi, is that your wristband?” Hyecha asked.

“Neh,” Taemin replied with a slight nod. He smiled again, and the females in the audience erupted in cheers. 

“Now I can see why Taemin-ssi was so popular with our trainees,” Jae said with a laugh. “He’s so effortless!” She then turned to one of the girls. “Hyunri-ssi.”

“Hyunri-ssi, who do you think that guitar pick belongs to?” Hyecha asked as Hyunri made her way to the front. 

“I, didn’t think of that,” Hyunri admitted amidst quiet chuckles. “Um, I think Onew-ssi or Jonghyun-ssi?”

“Onew-ssi, Jonghyun-ssi!” Jae called as the two aforementioned stepped foreword. 

“But what if it’s not one of us?” Onew asked innocently, pointing at himself and Jonghyun before Jae could continue with the revealing process. She couldn’t help but laugh, as well as the rest of the audience.

“Will the idol who owns the pick please come forward,” she announced as Hyunri faced the front, her expression calm.

Arms suddenly encircled her as the audience gasped, surprised at the actions of the idol. He gave a quick squeeze before he let go, and even Hyunri had to hide with her hand to prevent herself from reacting out loud. Jonghyun grinned sheepishly as the fans screamed at his boldness. 

“Third couple. Jonghyun and Hyunri,” Jae stated with a grin. 

Hyunri slowly faced Jonghyun, handing him the small guitar pick which she held in her left hand. He was about to reach for it, when he suddenly saw Taemin having a nice time with his partner. Instead of taking the pick, he gently moved Hyunri’s hand down. “It’s ok. You can keep it.” He smiled and winked at the girl, still with his hand touching hers.

The audience went crazy all over again after seeing Jonghyun’s sudden moves.

Hyecha placed her right hand on her face. “Aigooo~”

While Hyecha was completely smitten, Jae decided to continue on with the program. “Miju-ssi.”

“Neh?” the girl with the Japanese magazine asked as she walked forward.

Jae pointed at the magazine. “Do you have any guesses as to who this belongs to?”

Miju looked at the remaining boys. “There’s Kikwang-ssi, Key-ssi, Seungri oppa, Nichkhun-ssi, and Onew-ssi left,” she said as she scanned through the line of idols. “Right now, I’m 100% sure that Seungri-oppa owns this.” She nodded in content.

“Let’s see if she’s right!” Hyecha said. Miju turned around, anticipating who the person was. The audience burst out in slight laughter as they saw who was walking towards her. Miju felt some one's hand by her shoulder. Just when she thought she was gonna get a hug, that certain person pushed her forward... pretty hard.

She turned around. “Yah!” she shouted at him as she hit the boy with his own magazine.

“It looks like we have Seungri-ssi!” Hyecha said happily. “Miju-ssi was right!”

Miju nudged and narrowed her eyes at him, causing laughter all over again. “We’re in the same company. Of course she’s right!” he replied with a frown.

“So the Japanese magazine is Seungri-ssi’s?” Jae asked.

He nodded. “I buy Japanese magazines to practice my reading skills.”

“Fourth couple, Seungri and Miju!” Hyecha announced amongst claps. The two of them glared at each other as they walked to where the other pairs were. 

“This is gonna be interesting,” Jae commented as she observed all of those who were already paired up.

Hyecha nodded. “Nina-ssi, what about that necklace?” She turned to her as she walked up with the key necklace in hand. “Who do you think would bring that in?”

Nina looked up for a while, indicating that she was thinking. She looked back and raised the necklace up a bit. “I’m pretty sure it isn’t Key-ssi’s. That would be too obvious. I’m thinking maybe Onew-ssi? Maybe he wanted to throw us off a bit? Kikwang-ssi is a possibility too.”

“Onew-ssi has been mentioned twice now,” Jae said. “I wonder which one is actually his.” The host tilted her head.

“May the owner of this necklace, please come forward!” Hyecha commanded. As the audience saw who it actually was, laughter arose once again.

Nina felt a pair of arms gently pulling her in. She couldn’t help but to squeal in excitement, even though she still hasn’t seen who it was. She shifted her head to see who the mystery boy was. Sure enough it was...

“Ah! Key-ssi! It was actually him!” Hyecha pointed out.

As Key broke off the hug, Nina felt her cheeks burn up. It was a mixture of feeling embarrassed and liking the hug itself. She stood right in front of him and bowed while giggling for a bit. Key replied with a sweet smile. He reached her hand and took his necklace. But instead of taking it with him, he led Nina to turn around. He nicely placed the necklace around her neck.

“SHINee.” Jae stomped her foot. “What are you boys up to?? You’ve all been pulling some moves over here.” She pointed at the boys, as if she was scolding them.

Taemin just shyly laughed, Jonghyun shrugged as if everything was normal, and Key put his arm around Nina. Onew looked like he was in defeat for not having a girl next to him.

“I think they’re up against each other.” Hyecha scratched her head while she looked at the four of them. 

“I wonder what our leader is planning,” Jae commented as Onew smiled innocently, revealing nothing. “Key, Nina. Fifth couple!”

Applause followed as Hyecha turned back to the trainees. “Maiya-ssi, time to find out who you’ll be paired with!”

Maiya walked out calmly, her lips pressed together as she stood with her back to the group. There were footsteps, and suddenly the audience burst out in fits of laughter as almost simultaneously, Maiya was pushed forward. 

The distinct laughter of the idols, trainees and MCs through their mics were paired with the crowd as Maiya quickly regained her balance, only to turn and see Onew doing the same. 

“Onew-ssi,” Hyecha said between giggles, “was that fall, planned too?” Beside her, Jae was holding onto her stomach, unable to speak a word as she tried to calm herself down.

Onew straightened up and pulled an awkward smile as he turned towards Maiya and began bowing in apology. She bowed back, between some hand waving to indicate that it wasn’t a big dealing. SHINee seemed to be laughing the most of the idols, yet still embarrassed at their leader.

“Onew-ssi, I really think you outdid your members there,” Jae finally managed to say. Onew smiled again, equally as embarrassed as before. “Sixth couple. Onew, Maiya!”

As the two moved to join the other pairs, Nichkhun spoke up, “Onew still didn’t give a proper back hug.”

Maiya’s eyes widened as the MCs gasped in realization. “Onew-ssi,” Jae pointed out excitedly, “you still have to match your dongsengs.”

Onew chuckled, nodding in agreement as he remembered his other members. 

“Maiya-ssi, please turn around so that you can get a back hug,” Hyecha instructed in a straight voice as the studio once again erupted in laughter, including Maiya herself. 

Maiya turned around, her cheeks flushed as she waited. Onew wrapped his hands around her waist and squeezed for a split second before letting go, sending the audience screaming.

Maiya had to keep her face away from Onew as she tried to recover, and she kept her hand over as the two resumed their places on the side.

“Now we have two trainees left, and two idols left,” Jae said with a smirk, “and it seems like the two idols that made a pact are last.”

Nichkhun and Kikwang both nodded, smiles playing on their lips. 

“If I remember, Crissy-ssi and Hyojin-ssi both chose Kikwang as their favorite idol,” Hyecha pointed out, addressing the two remaining girls. They both looked at her and nodded slightly, a little embarrassed since Nichkhun was also standing nearby. “Kikwang-ssi, how do you feel?”

“I’m thankful,” he replied, his eyes turning into crescents as he smiled.

“Alright. Crissy-ssi, Hyojin-ssi, please face the front,” Jae instructed. The two trainees obliged as the MC continued, “Nichkhun-ssi and Kikwang-ssi will be revealed at the same time.”

There was silence as the two girls waited, almost impatiently as the two male idols stayed still behind them, as if to increase the suspense. 

Both male idols seemed hesitant to approach the girls individually, and they silently agreed as they reached the girls, encircling their arms around each lightly before letting go. Crissy and Hyojin both blushed, covering their faces with their hands.

“Kikwang, Hyojin, couple! Nichkhun, Crissy, couple!” Jae called out as both girls turned around to face their partners. 

“Nichkhun-ssi,” Hyecha said as the two pairs returned to their places. “May I ask why you chose a picture of Minho-ssi?”

Everyone burst out laughing as they remembered what item Crissy had chosen, that was now revealed to belong to Nichkhun. 

“Minho-yah told me he wasn’t going to be part of the show, so I told him I’d bring him along,” Nichkhun explained with a chuckle.

“What?” The SHINee members looked over, surprised at the news. “Minho didn’t tell us anything,” Jonghyun stated as they all laughed.

Unexpectedly, G-Dragon stepped up and pointed at Nichkhun. “Junsu told me once that you keep a picture of Minho-ssi in your wallet!” That just added on with the laughter.

“Bwoh?” Hyecha reacted to the sudden revelation.

Jae faced the guilty-looking idol. “Is this true Nichkhun-ssi?”

He lowered and scratched his head in embarrassment. “Neh.” By that time, the noises heard on set was a mixture of laughter, gasps and ‘awww’s. “But it’s not like it’s that special,” he defended himself. “I end up putting all the pictures people give me in my wallet. I got all the 2PM membe-”

“Minho gave you a picture of himself??” Key interrupted him, followed by another set of laughter.

Nichkhun shook his head as he waved his hand to show disapproval. “That’s not the case, actually,” he defended himself once again. “I got SHINee’s last album and Minho’s photocard was inside.” The laughter around pretty much died down by then. What was there was the sound of disappointment from fans.

“So if it was my photocard,” Onew stepped forward. “You would have had it in your wallet, and you would have chosen it as your item for this show?”

“Exactly.”

Some of the idols and the audience members still looked like they were unsatisfied with his explanation. “Anyway..” Jae went ahead and controlled the show while Hyecha was still confused about what just happened. “Kikwang-ssi owns the earrings right?” She completely changed the topic.

Kikwang was also still fresh from shock and laughter, but he managed to reply with a nod. “I just have a couple of earrings, and those with the stars are just one of them.”

Hyecha sighed after hearing Kikwang’s answer. “Your object has nothing against Nichkhun-ssi.” She brought up the previous issue, once again. And again, laughter was heard. Nichkhun was already filled with embarrassment as everyone made fun of his condition.

After the place managed to calm down, all the idols and trainees went to their pairing spots. “Shall we recap?” Jae said. Hyecha nodded. She walked to the left end of the line, while Jae was on the other end. The couples were in order of how they were revealed.

“First, the nice couple, Runa and G-Dragon!” Hyecha said while clapping.

“The controversial couple, Crissy and Nichkhun!” Jae teased. Nichkhun kiddingly glared at the host. “Sorry, Crissy-ssi. I’m only mainly referring to Nichkhun-ssi.”

The two hosts just went in order from which side they were on. Hyecha pointed to the next couple. “The adorable and young couple, Megan and Taemin!”

Jae also went ahead. “The starry couple, Hyojin and Kikwang!”

“The guitarist couple, Hyunri and Jonghyun!”

“The clumsy couple, Maiya and Onew!”

“The Japanese-ish couple, Miju and Seungri!”

“And finally, the classy couple, Nina and Key!” The two hosts finally met at the middle as the both of them clapped with the audience.

“Right off the bat, this show has proven itself don’t you think?” Jae asked her co-host.

Hyecha nodded. She faced the camera and pointed, aiming for the viewers. “Don’t forget to continue watching our show..”

“Trained by Idols!” the cheerful hosts said together as they waved goodbye.

After the set was cleared off, the hosts, idols, and trainees all headed off to their dressing rooms.
